It was cruel and evil actions. Determined Character In my opinion, My Utterson showed great determination in Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. He was the lawyer as well as a close friend of Dr Jekylls. When he was asked to draft Dr Jekylls strange will leaving everything to Mr Hyde, he was determined to find out about Hyde. He was also determined to protect his friends hounour. When he found out the truth about Dr Jekyll, he kept his friends confession a secret because he was determined to protect his friends good name.

He could speak several languages such as German and French. He is good and skillful at sword fighting and horse riding. Rudolf is a very brave person. He did not run way when he was confronted with the Kings enemies. He faced them confidently and defeated many of them. He is also good at strategy and planned many attacks against the Kings enemies. He risked his life to save the King. Rudolf is also very honourable. Although Princess Flavia loved him, he knew he could not love her because his duty to the King and country came first. Bad character The bad character that I found in The Prisoner of Zenda is Duke Micheal of Strelsau. He is a very greedy man. As

a duke, he has a lot of land and power. But still he was not satisfied and wanted to be the King. Besides, he wanted to marry Princess Flavia although he knew that she is the Kings fiance. The princess did not love Duke Micheal at all. He is also an evil man. He would kill anybody who got into his way. He hired six men to do his killing for him. He was willing to kill his own brother, King Rudolf V to get his throne and the beautiful Princess Flavia.

Determined Character In my opinion the character in the Prisoner of Zenda who showed great determination was Rudolf Rassendyll. In Zenda he was asked to impersonate King Rudolf who was drugged by the evil Duke Micheal. He knew it was dangerous but he was determined to help the King. Later on, he fell in love with Princess Flavia. He wished to marry Princess Flavia but he was determined to protect his honour. the King to die at the hands of Duke Micheal. Determined to do the right thing, he risked his life to save the King and Ruritania.

INTERESTING/EXCITING /MEMORABLE EVENT

The Phantom of the Opera
The event that I found interesting in the Phantom of Opera is when love conquers all. Erik fell in love with Christine but Christine loved Raoul. Erik kidnapped Christine and forced her to marry him. Raoul was tortured in The Chamber of Mirrors when he tried to save Christine. Christine loved Raoul and she was willing to sacrifice her love for him so she kissed Erik. Erik was shocked and touched by her action because he knew Christine did not love him. He freed Raoul and Christine so they could marry.

suspected something was wrong in his masters laboratory, called Mr Utterson for help. Mr. Utterson immediately rushed to Dr Jekylls house. Both of them heard a very loud screaming inside the laboratory, which did not sound like Dr Jekylls voice. Mr Utterson quickly asked Poole to break the door and rushed in only to find Mr Hyde lying dead on the floor and Dr Jekyll was nowhere to be found. In the end, Mr Utterson realized that Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde were the same person and asked Poole not to let the secret out.

INTERESTING PLACE/SETTING
The Phantom of the Opera
In the Phantom of the Opera, almost all the events occurred in the Opera House in Paris, France. It has ten floors above the ground and seven floors under the ground. There were flights of stairs, passages and many rooms behind and under the stage with 2500 doors in the building. It was at the Opera House that Raoul met Christine for the second time and refreshed his relationship with her. Erik the Phantom taught Christine to sing and began to fall in love with her. Another important event that happened in the Opera House was when Erik kidnapped Christine while she was singing on the stage. He took to his underground lake house, yet another part of the Opera House, but one that was not known to the public.

The Prisoner of Zenda

The event that I found interesting in the Prisoner of Zenda is when Rassendyll saved the King. He had to wait for Zenda Castle to open before he could take action. When the drawbridge opened, he rushed in to look for the place when the King was imprisoned. . At the same time, Duke Micheal and Rupert were having a sword fight. When the drawbridge was raised up, Rassendyll was already waiting for Colonel Sapt and the others to come and take the King to safety.

Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde

The event that I found interesting in the novel Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde is when Mr Utterson and Poole waited outside Dr Jekylls laboratory. Poole who

is because the laboratory was the place where Dr Jekyll invented the potion that enabled him to transform into his dual personality. As a scientist, Dr Jekyll spent most of his time in the laboratory doing his research. The laboratory was located at the end of Dr Jekylls house. Towards the end Dr Jekyll spent most of his time in the laboratory to conduct his research and experiment to get a stronger potion to control Mr. Hyde. In the end Poole heard a strange voice in the laboratory which he believed was not his masters. He was also certain that Dr Jekyll was in trouble. When Poole and Mr Utterson broke the door they saw Mr Hyde dead on the floor. In the laboratory too Mr Utterson found a letter addressed to him, which helped solved the mystery of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.

rose high above the forest surroundings. It was a beautiful building on a hilltop that looked like a castle in a fairy tale. Duke Micheal owned the castle and it was surrounded by a moat with a drawbridge across it. When the drawbridge was drawn up, no one could get into the castle unless he swam across the moat. King Rudolf was caught as a prisoner in the castle in a room. This place was guarded by three of the Famous Six. Hence, if the castle was under attack one of them would rushed in to kill the King. Rudolf Rassendyll and his men planned to rescue the King. This was the place where Rudolf Rassendyll risked his life and fought bravely to save the King.

met him when he was holidaying in Brittany, France. When they meet four years later, she still loves him. This clearly shows loyalty. She is also loyal to the Phantom, Erik, as she secretly receives voice lessons from Erik whom she regards as her angel of music. She never reveals his identity to anyone.

Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde

Loyalty The theme of loyalty in the novel Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde is portrayed by Dr Jekylls friend, Mr Utterson and his servant, Poole. After the murder of Sir Danvers Carew, Mr Utterson was curious that the walking stick he gave Dr Jekyll was found at the site of the murder and behind the door of Mr Hydes house. However, as a loyal friend, he kept quiet about it while he tried to find out the truth. Poole also showed loyalty to his master, Dr Jekyll. He never questioned Dr jekylls action but obeyed whatever he requested.

The Prisoner of Zenda

An interesting place where many events took place in the Prisoner of Zenda was the Zenda Castle. It was the place where King Rudolf was kept as a captive by his own brother Duke Micheal who wanted to take the throne. Zenda Castle has white towers which

carry out her duty to the king and her people.

THEME
The Phantom of the Opera
Justice In The Phantom of the Opera, justice was finally done. The Phantom was an evil person. He did not only terrorised the people at the Opera House, but he was also suspected of killing Joseph Buquet, a person who talked about the Phantom. However he had a soft spot for Christine Daae. He loved her so much that he even threatened to kill Raoul, her beloved. In his house beneath the Opera House, he trapped Raoul and the Persian in his torture chamber. He then forced Christine to marry him. In the end, he realised he could not force Christine to love him. Thus he freed them. Soon he died of unbearable heartbreak. Hence, justice was done, as the evil Phantom did not get to marry the woman he loved, after all the evil things he had done.

Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde

Justice In Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, justice was finally done. Dr Jekyll was a good man who was respected and liked by society. His other self, Mr Hyde, was an evil person who was rude, cruel and committed crimes. He believed that every man had two personalities which could be separated. So, he experimented and found a potion that could separate the two personalities. Thus he was able to indulge in his evil doings in which only Mr Hyde was responsible. He trampled over a little girl and killed Sir Danvers Carew brutally. As time passed, Dr Jekyll was unable to control the transformation into Mr Hyde as evil seemed to be stronger than good. In the end, he had to pay for whatever crimes he had committed. He had to commit suicide to put an end to Mr Hyde. Therefore, justice was done.

The Prisoner of Zenda

Loyalty The theme of loyalty is prevalent throughout the novel The Prisoner of Zenda. It is portrayed by Colonel Sapt and Fritz. They were willing to die for their king. They never told anyone that the king was unconscious in the morning of his coronation. They even risked their lives to save him when he was kidnapped. Colonel Sapt and Fritz were also loyal to Rudolf Rassendyll whom they asked to impersonate the king. They were always at his side protecting him during the coronation and after that when he continued to impersonate the king. Princess Flavia was loyal to the king and her country. She sacrificed her love for Rudolf Rassendyll in order to

Bravery In The Phantom of the Opera, I would consider the Persian as a brave person. The Phantom killed anyone who was helping his enemies. Despite knowing this, the Persian helped Raoul many times. When Christine, Raouls lover, was kidnapped by the Phantom, he helped Raoul to rescue Christine. He not only showed Raoul the secret passages, but also went along on the rescue. He put himself in danger and almost died while trying to help Raoul. He was indeed a brave person.

stood firmly on his grounds even though he knew his life could be in danger. Bravery was clearly shown.

The Prisoner of Zenda

Justice Based on the novel The Prisoner of Zenda, justice was indeed done. Black Michael, who had caused all the sufferings, was killed in the end. Black Michael wanted to be the King of Ruritania. He also wanted to marry Princess Flavia eventhough he already had Antoinette de Mauban. His desire for power was so great that he even tried to kill the king. He did not hesitate to kill anyone who got in his way. So he hired the Famous Six to carry out his evil deeds. In the end, he was killed by one of his own men, Rupert of Hentzau. As for Rupert of Hentzau, he had to run away from Zenda.

The Prisoner of Zenda

Bravery Based on the novel The Prisoner of Zenda, I consider Rudolf Rassendyll as a brave character. Whenever there was a need to fight, Rudolf faced his enemies courageously. He had never run away from a fight. Once, eight of Black Michaels men came to bury Josef who had died in protecting the king, Rudolf managed to fight them off and even killed two of them. Rudolf encountered Black Michaels Famous Six without any fear. He also attacked Zenda Castle with Colonel Sapt and Fritz. He fought bravely against two of the Famous Six and rescued the king. He was truly a brave hero.

Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde

Bravery Based on the novel Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, I consider Richard Enfield as a brave man. His bravery was shown after a ball in the wee hours. When he was walking home alone, he saw two people, a little girl and a small man, knocked into each other. The man, Mr Hyde, trampled upon the little girl, Edie, and walked on. He bravely confronted Mr Hyde and demanded compensation from him. Although at first Mr Hyde refused, Richard Enfield

The Phantom of the Opera

In the novel The Phantom of the Opera, I discover that we should not judge a person by his outward appearance. Erik, the Opera ghost, was born in France and settled permanently under the Paris Opera House. He looked ugly. People were scared of him. He was rejected by society since childhood, even by his own mother. So he grew up to be a man full of revenge, hatred and anger. Although he was ugly, he was actually very talented. He built the famous Paris Opera House with all the secret passages. He even built his house underneath the opera house. Moreover, he was a very good singer. He was able to train Christine Daae until she became the most popular opera singer in Paris. We should never judge a book by its cover.

Dr Henry Jekyll was a reputable doctor of good character. As a scientist, he was innovative and discovered a drug that would change a persons character. He believed that there were two sides to a persons character the good and the bad sides. He transformed himself into the ugly and cruel character, the bad Edward Hyde. As Hyde, he was wild and cruel. He committed crimes like trampling on a little girl causing her to be in a state of shock. In another instance, he killed Sir Danvers Carew. Each time he wanted to change back into the good Dr Jekyll, he had to drink the potion. He learned his lesson when the drugs he took became less effective. Hyde overpowered him. He was unable to transform himself back to his original self. He died in the end.

During his visit to Ruritania, he met the King of Ruritania. When the king was drugged and could not attend his coronation, Rudolf Rassendyll was persuaded to impersonate him. To defend the kings throne and to save him from his evil brother, Black Michael, Rudolf Rassendyll put his life at stake. He went through a lot of hardship in rescuing the king. While impersonating the king, he met Princess Flavia, the kings fiance. He fell in love with her. He could have let the king be killed by Black Michael, marry the princess and live happily ever after. However, he was an honourable man. He rescued the king and sacrificed his love for the princess. He remained a hero in the princess heart. To the king and his faithful followers, Colonel Sapt and Fritz, he was a friend and hero. If he had done otherwise, he might have married the princess and ruled as king, but he will never have the respect of those who knew about his impersonation.

The Prisoner of Zenda

In The Prisoner of Zenda, I learnt to be honourable. Honour is shown through the actions of the main character, Rudolf Rassendyll.

Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde

Man must not go against nature. This is the lesson that I have learnt in the novel Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.
