FACULTY FOR FUTURE

The COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) is one of the fastest growing institutions of higher education in Pakistan, offering a wide range of programs and enjoys collegial networking with a number of institutions abroad. It is an ideal place for higher studies and research and is acclaimed countrywide for the quality of its teaching and research. CIIT is a dynamic institution extending its geographic and programs spread. The CIIT has embarked upon an ambitions Faculty Development Program back in 2004. Until now 115 scholars have completed their studies, returned and joined back the institution. Another 110 scholars are pursuing higher studies in the leading universities abroad. Under this initiative, fully funded scholarships are being offered at different selected institutions of higher learning in Australia, China, Finland, France, Germany, Malaysia, Sweden, UK and the USA. The scholarships are for MS / PhD level studies in the disciplines of: Architecture; Bio Sciences; Computer Science; Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering / Mechatronic Systems

Engineering; Environmental Sciences; Humanities; Management Science/Business Administration; Mathematics; and Physics. The scholarships are intended for the Fall 2010 and subsequent academic sessions. The selected candidates would be placed in the respective CIIT campuses offering particular programs of study. Eligibility Criteria
The aspiring applicants must meet the following minimum eligibility criteria: Pakistani / AJK nationals; Sixteen-year earned degree in the relevant subject; Only one second division allowed in the academic career, but not in the terminal degree. (CGPA in the last degree should be at least 2.8/4.0) or equivalent; Valid NTS score of 50 and above; Valid GRE (General) and GRE (Subject) or GMAT and TOEFL scores, if available Maximum age by the closing date for application; 35 years; Persons in receipt of any other CIIT scholarship offer are NOT eligible to apply.

Apply on the standard faculty development program application form available on CIIT website along with non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 500/- in the form of pay order/demand draft drawn in favor of CIIT. Attach following documents along with the prescribed application form: CV/Resume.

Attested photocopy of NIC. Attested photocopies of all educational degrees / certificates. Most recent colour photographs 4 Nos. One-page Statement of Purpose stating applicants aspirations to study for graduate degree in a particular field of study. Brief description of research interest / research proposal, if developed. Valid and acceptable NTS (GAT) and TOEFL / IELTS scores. Three letters of reference from the academic / research supervisor.

Road Map
The short listed candidates will be invited for interview in 3~4 weeks time after the application submission deadline. The selected candidates will be offered faculty position on which they would be required to join CIIT Campuses within one month upon receipt of offer. The selected faculty members would be required to complete all admission requirements at the selected universities by the notified deadlines, in consultation with the senior faculty and P&D Directorate. Upon admission, faculty member will be offered scholarship, which will cover full program expenses including living allowance, as per CIIT rules and any ceiling limits on the tuition fee.. The scholars availing the scholarships would be required to execute a bond to serve CIIT for a minimum period of five years after completion of PhD and three years after completion of MS/MSc at universities abroad. All those candidates who are already in employment of CIIT should apply through proper channel; Applications received without concurrence of respective campus administration will not be entertained. The CIIT in-service applicants do not need to submit the processing fee of Rs. 500/-.

Important
Perspective applicants who do not have a valid NTS-GAT score are directed to register for the April. 11th 2010 test date and attach photocopy of their enrollment receipt with the scholarship application form. Their candidature will be processed on provisional basis until the valid NTS score of 50 or above is available.
