My Personal Paradigm of Leadership and Management Personally, I think that in order for an organization to become stable and successful,

it should have a strong manager / leader who should possess both the qualities of a good manager and a good leader. As a manager, I believe in the supreme Being who is GOD that endowed everyone with spiritual gifts which develops ones skills and when we develop our skills then we become competent. These talents and skills I believe are already within the individual. What we have to do is to develop these talents and as the head of the organization it is the responsibility of the head to provide opportunities and experiences for these talents to be developed. In my own view of my leadership and management paradigm, I would like to develop the following competencies: 1). Academic Expertise- this is important for me in order to gain knowledge about management , theories ,concepts and principles as applied in education. I should also have the know how in strategic planning, curriculum development, instructional leadership, resource management and related areas. 2). Interpersonal Skills- this is equally important because it will help the leader see that it that organizational goals are achieved primarily through group efforts and I should also be aware of the rudiments of human behavior and the importance of relationships.3). Integrative Skills- as a leader ones has to possess this in order to know the different parts of the organization and relate with one another.4). Imaginative skills this is one of the most important skills that one should have so that one can use different creative ways of knowing , seeing and doing things. The leader or manager should also be able to create images of the organization that is better than the present. If the head of the organization possess the different skills and competencies mentioned above, he/she will be able to see and know what to do with the organization. These skills and competencies should not only be present in a leader but more importantly, this should help the leader do what is expected of him/her by the Creator who is our God the head of the institution should be able to use the gift of the spirit so that he/she can make not only a learning institution but an institution with a soul. In this paradigm it means that he should have C H I L E D. C-stands for compassionate, His humility , I- for Integrity, L- Love, E- enthusiasm and D- developmental. As leader and manager compassion is needed for him to be able to understand the predicaments of the people but at the same time , laziness and mediocrity is not tolerated . Humility is a very important virtue that every leader should have, because the higher you go the more you should be able to reach out to all employees specially the rank and file. I have experience this in my own workplace and my co-workers appreciate my concern and care for them. Every leader and manager I believe should have unquestionable character. His / her integrity should not be tainted even with some doubts so that he/she can be credible to his co-workers. Love- is a very important virtue for me, because of love ,everything is possible even if it will entail hardship it can be carried out because the job becomes light if we do it with love. Enthusiasm this is related to love, if we do things with enthusiasm we feel good and happy and this happiness radiates to others with whom we encounter. Therefore the institution will become working organization that is compassionate and caring with people helping and inspiring one another. Developmental

the organization is developmental if it will continue to grow and not stagnate. The people in the organization will be working toward self development and others through effective leadership and management of the leader. I believe that the leader is endowed with the gift of the spirit, coming from God he/she owes to return it to Him. The effective leader is selfless , one who is after the welfare of the organization and its people rather than of himself. My personal paradigm of leadership and management can be summed up this way :
