1 : Forest depletion

Introduction: Vanishing forests are the cause of major concern as they are impacting the environment in a big way. Link video 1vof forest depletion. The cause of depletion of forest varies from area to areas. Over harvesting, over grazing, air pollution, extreme weather condition and infestation are some of them. Link video 2 According to a UN survey, half of the original forest cover has vanished in the last 30 years.(Link 1). This is the cause of major concern for all as 60 million people depend on forest for food ( Link 2) and over one in five person is dependent on the forest for livelihood (Link 3).

2. Go to a press conference of the ministry of forest of your state. Forest Minister will brief the media on the present status of forest cover in the state. A report will be released on the forest cover of the state on the same day. File a story on the present status of forest cover on the basis of the aforesaid report and the ministers statement.
