As one of the fastest growing emerging markets in the world, Indias economic growth is expected to outpace China as early as 2011.
Growth drivers
India will register an economic growth of 8.7% in 2011, with much of this growth being driven by domestic demand. An expanding furniture market


The Indian furniture market is worth US$8 billion and is growing at 30% compound annual growth rate in the organised sector which represents only 15% of the whole industry. Currently there are only 10,500 furniture importers in the organised sector and they mainly import from Italy, Germany, Spain and Malaysia. Bombay Convention and Exhibition Centre The Bombay Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) is the largest exhibition centre in India. Since its opening in 1991, BCEC has hosted numerous prestigious international trade fairs and exhibitions. Situated along the Western Express Highway in Goregaon, the BCEC is a mere 10-minute travel from the international and domestic airports, and is within walking distance from train stations and less than a 20-minute drive from the heart of the city. The centre is also near an array of hotels, entertainment centres, retail shopping and sightseeing spots. The BCEC totals over 45,000 sqm, and is well-equipped with central air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, with a choice of dining options ranging from restaurants to open-air cafeterias.
