Thanks for the ex planation of the concept. But i w ant to ask you about it in mor e detail. I w ant to pur sue my car eer as DBA.But unfor tunately i know nothing about it. I am w or king as w eb pr ogr amer and in the mood of shifting the car eer to something else that is easy going since pr ogr aming is eating my head up. So i pr efer to w or k on installing and configur ing database,cr eating backup,secur ity,maintaining and managing the data,cr eate basic-medium sql quer ies,cr eating user s etc.But not designing,analysing,coding or cr eating of database and tables etc. SO in this case w hich or acle cer tification should i go for ?In this case is it good for me to take Or acle DBA and study or acle 11g? Please ex plain. Thanks.

Database Administration is

Database Administr ation is not easy task so don't think it w ill not eat your head. :) If you w ant to do r eally in database administr ation then choose or acle DBA cer tification other w ise you have Or acle Developer choose but in developer site you need to again do pr ogr amming. It is up to you. I alw ays r ecommend to lear n fir st w hat is or acle dba and developer activities then go for cer tification. Database Administration

Since I dont w ant to get involved in database pr ogr amming.I think i should go for Or acle DBA(only administr ation)cer tification instead,w hich is 11g r ight? Peoples ar e advising me to star t fr om A+,N+,MCDST and get simple IT jobs and then pr oceed to either MCDBA,Or acle or MCSE etc.Is this the cor r ect w ay to pr oceed in IT field? Thanks.

But I pr efer PL/SQL over for ms and most of the w or ks ar e in PL/SQL only ( Wr iting pr ocedur es, funtion and other SQL). I w ant to do Cer tification. Can you plz tell me w hich cer tification suits me. Thanks
