3/1988 to present working as an intermittent RN
Work the NW (9:30 pm to 7:30 am) shift in the CBHH (Community Behavioral Health
Hospital) in Annandale as part of the State Operated Services of the Department
of Human Resources in Minnesota. Handle any crisis or problems that occur on tha
t shift. Make sure the clients are safe throughout the night--giving them adequa
te attention and medication if needed during the night. Vitals, check and change
goals, review meds and med sheets, review other data for accuracy and possible
changes, call physician if needed. Staff coverage. Supervise HST (Human Service
Technicians) and LPNs. Handle admissions.
**RN Consultant - PrimeWest Health Care grant
2/2007 to 12/31/2010
Research and review the Personal Care Assistant program that is under Department
of Human Resources to ascertain ways to improve the program. It was a 2 year gr
ant that has been extended into 2010 to allow completion of programs and referen
ces that were unfinished at the end of 2009. Established Peer Reflective approac
h to assessments, provided consultation to various health care agencies, and dev
eloped a resource booklet for the PCA program to serve as an adjunct to the esta
blished program resources.

as a NDT inspector. He lives on his own in Kalamazoo Michigan and is transition
ing into the work force. He has learned to deal with many of his issues and has
become a terrific advocate for himself. He is doing well as a young adult.
