Launched a new product under a different company name (partners from PhotonDream
) in September of 2010. Engaged sales/marketing team, hired a former Undersecret
ary of Defense for Procurement and Acquisition and contracted with both local an
d overseas manufacturing. Results: Within three months product is on pricing sch
edule with three OEMs for Q2 roll out, on design table with Army Missile Command
/Northrop Grumman and we currently have contracts for sales in over 18 countries
.
Growth of a special laser design and development company with over a dozen paten
ts. Introduced company to DARPA, DoD and several weapon manufacturers. Establish
ed contracts with Disney, Cirque du Soleil, MGM Grand and Palms corporations for
entertainment division. Results: At start the company had 3 accounts totaling $
1.3m; today company gross is over $21m.
Joined an under-funded medical device/chemical manufacturing startup company wit
h no direction. Developed nine different products with minimal costs and impleme
nted sales and marketing teams; closed deal with Sams Club, Walgreens and CVS wi
thin 3 months. Results: Product was #1 in category with nearly 50% of gross sale
s of category for Walgreens and #2 at CVS.
Contracted to run the operations of a struggling medical device startup. Transfo
rmed all financials and operations; overhauled all vendor contracts and simplifi
ed product offering. Results: Increased gross sales over 500%; took over company
leadership role and was considered for the Small Business Person of the Year Aw
ard (2008) with the SBA.
Overhauled the operations and sales of an established wholesale food manufacturi
ng plant. Reorganized manpower and production scheduling; renegotiated vendor co
ntracts; redesigned plant layout and restructured capital equipment contracts. R
esults: Increased production rate by over 300%; Tripled sales in one year; decre
ased costs by 43% and moved company from a negative to a positive cash flow in l
ess than six months.
Retrained all departmental teams to increase efficiency and cut operating costs.
Developed complete training materials for all staff levels on efficient manufac
turing practices. Results: Decreased labor costs by 50%; hired and trained new p
roduction management staff; decreased COGS by over 38%.
Streamlined inefficient process functions of a natural gas wholesaler. Educated
new sales and administrative staff; re-charted financials and forecasting formul

purchasing contracts. Results: 135% increase in sales; decreased training time

Conceptualized, developed and built a state-of-the-art medical/surgical suite fo
r the US Navy which fit into 1 shipping container for worldwide distribution. H
eaded R&D team to increase transportability of multi-million dollar medical equi
pment post Operation Desert Storm. Results: Reduced shipping costs by 66%; cut b
uilding costs by 50%; created a no-loss container using GPS technology.
Spearheaded the first billing/coding medical software company. Founded team to l
ead into uncharted medical software waters by pursuing medical process dilemmas
of physician groups. Results: Established multi-million dollar start-up from zer
o; ran profitable for over five years; prepared company for its eventual and suc
cessful sale and IPO.
Planned, launched and oversaw over 100 medical clinics in third-world, war-torn
countries. Directed UN medical logistics team which established medical and surg
ical clinics throughout Iraq, Afghanistan, Kurdistan, Indonesia, Armenia and Bos
nia to name a few. Results: Decreased spread of disease; saved hundreds of thous
ands of lives; awarded US Navy Humanitarian Service Medal and UN Medal.
Improved the US Navys desert fast-attack vehicle. Performed as team leader for t
he medical operations team which redesigned all storage containers on vehicle. R
esults: Production savings of over 33% per vehicle which now is more powerful an
d fuel economical.
Initiated a redesign of the US Navy field trauma pack. Simplified the structural
design; eliminated low-use instruments; presented to US Navy biomedical enginee
rs for review. Results: New field trauma pack that is 23% less weight, 56% more
higher-use equipment; cost savings of 17% of previous packs.
