fourth largest overall, operating the Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans
in Illinois, Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.
Divisional Vice President, Information Technology Group-
Infrastructure Services, Planning & Integration - Responsible for all
core production services and infrastructure engineering functions
including distributed and enterprise server environments, local and
wide area networking, voice and call center services, messaging,
collaboration and groupware, cross platform middleware integration,
enterprise storage services, systems management, and integrated
planning capabilities. Budget responsibility for $225M expense / $45M
capital with a team of 300+ technical service professionals.
* Championed and initaitiated an aggressive self funding server
consolidation program yielding a 5 year cost avoidance benefit of
$16 million.
* Constructed the business case and secured corporate funding for a
$35 million overhaul of the corporate LAN and telecommunications
infrastructure, enabling reduced run rate savings by consolidating
the voice and data networks. Additional business benefits were

analytical processing, and business intelligence services. Budget
responsibility for $55M+ / 160 team members in a highly leveraged

* Instituted collaborative release planning review processes to
ensure alignment of IT spend to business priorities. Enabled
systematic reduction of problem backlogs, and increased focus on
