Managed the Santa Clara Branch of Tokyo Electron. The business unit provided tec
hnical support and custom engineering to US chip manufacturing customers for a s
emiconductor Wafer Prober System. The System was manufactured in Japan. Duties i
ncluded managing the technical staff of Mechanical and Software Engineers, and a
manufacturing operation that designed and built custom hardware that interfaced
automatic testers to wafer probers.

Defense:
Kaiser Electronics Optics, Carlsbad, CA 1993-1995
MACS, Subcontractor
Successfully led a small design team from initial design to successful productio
n of a
aSpacecraft Simulatora. A six-vehicle system capable of simulating spacecraft co
mbat was successfully demonstrated at a national trade show within six months of
program start. All participants had headsets that presented interactive real ti
me video.
Cubic Defense Systems, San Diego, CA 1991-1993
Engineering Manager
Managed a multi-disciplined team that produced a digital man-pack transceiver fo
r the US Army. The transceiver provided tracking, monitoring and survival status
of all participants in a simulated combat training environment. The first twent
y-five production man-pack receivers were produced within five months after the
Critical Design Review.
MACS, San Diego, CA. 1988-1995
President
Operated a small engineering and consulting firm that served Teledyne Ryan Aeron
autical(Northrop Grumman). as a UAV avionics repair, test and modification depot
. MACS also provided my services as an on-site engineering consultant to Kaiser
Electro Optics and to McDonnell Douglas from 1988 to 1991 on the USAF C-17 airc
raft development project.
At McDonnell Douglas, defined both hardware and software design requirements for
a motion base cockpit simulator for the C-1 7. Conducted a detailed study verif
ying that all contractual USAF flight requirements, subject to simulator verific
ation, were included on a suitable engineering factory simulator.
UAV EXPERIENCE:
Teledyne Ryan Aeronautical, San Diego, CA.
Led a development team researching the next generation UAV avionics suite featur
ing a 1553 serial data buses, distributed I/O, and a general purpose computer th
at became an integral part of the flight control system.
Teledyne Systems, Northridge, CA.
Designed the receiver of a prototype navigation system for a UAV combat applicat
ion. Created and managed a flight test program that demonstrated system feasibi
lity for UAV use. Teledyne Ryan UAV/s successfully flew this navigation system i
n Vietnam.
