CIRSMA™ is not only a risk assessment software application,

but offers a complete software solution to manage safety from
system or process design to user training and PPE.
The CIRSMA concept was developed based on the risk
assessment principles described in ISO-14121, ISO 12100-1,
ANSI B11.TR3, and EN1050.

CIRSMA™ provides
a system of examining
hazards to determine their
severity, the need for access
to the hazardous areas, and the
likelihood of a person avoiding harm
should the hazardous event occur.
By considering individual hazardous
areas rather than attempting to assess an
entire system as one hazardous area, suitable
cost effective risk reduction measures can be assigned.
CIRSMA™ can also provide a competitive advantage to
workplaces that are facing increased costs due to rising
insurance premiums and lost production time. CIRSMA™ will
enable your company to target systems and processes that
pose the highest degree of risk. This will allow a remediation
plan to be developed and implemented before an injury occurs.
Being on the leading edge of industrial safety technology can
help to enhance profitability in the future.

The CIRSMA™ program is a comprehensive safety

management system. The features can help your company
define what type of person should be allowed into hazardous
areas, the qualification requirements for a specific task, and
the corporate safety policy development requirements.
Personal protective equipment can also be evaluated using
the “Task Hazard Assessment” interface.
CIRSMA™ Provides:
• A 3-Step risk estimation system;
• A OEM/Integrator risk assessment/reduction system;
• A User risk assessment/reduction system;
• A complete document management system;
• An intuitive, user friendly, safety management system;
• A utility that will facilitate the creation of safety documentation
within an efficient and controlled electronic environment;
• Clear, concise reports that can
easily be interpreted by
Engineers, Employers, Health
and Safety Professionals, and
Health and Safety Committees.
CIRSMA™ Provides:
• Risk estimation alignment with ISO Guide 51 and ISO 12100-1;
• Risk reduction through hazardous event elimination;
• Risk reduction according to the methodology of ISO 12100-1;
• Residual risk outputs provided for guidance;
• Human Resource administration screen;
• Employee training assignment and tracking system;

Assessment Screen The assessment screen is used
to create the risk assessments
for a particular system or
process.
This screen is broken down into
three main sections:
•Main assessment information;
•Versions control;
•Hazard Zones.

Explorer Bar
Color coded residual risk indicators
are displayed in the explorer bar.
Version Control Toolbar

The version control toolbar is used to manage changes made to risk

assessment documentation. It displays the selected version of the risk
assessment document, the assessment participants and the pertinent version
dates. Hazard zones are related to each version. The version is then related to
the main assessment information. A new version should be created if the
System Resource, or the protective measures change in such a way that they
may effect the risk associated with the system or process.

By using document version control, all changes made to your equipment or

processes can be tracked and stored by the software. This provides the means
to instantly view the history of the systems or processes, assessments, and
operator activities.
Hazard Zones
The Hazard Zone Toolbar is
used to create and view
hazard zone assessments.
Pressing the buttons on the
right side will open the hazard
zone form in view, edit, or add
modes. Guidance regarding
the residual risk levels is
provided in order to help users
through the process. Tasks
and related documents can
also be linked to hazard
zones.

Risk is indicated at each of the

3-steps.

Residual risk is indicated at

the bottom of this screen.
Risk Estimation

• The Risk Estimation tab allows for

all types of hazards to be
evaluated.
• CIRSMA™ uses the “Probability
of Event” selection to determine if
safeguarding is required.

• Provided that the answer to the

prompt is “No”, CIRSMA™
prompts the user to provide
supporting documentation.
Risk Estimation
• The Risk Estimation tab facilitates
information entry during the
creation of hazard zones. The
entries in this screen are based
on the elements of risk as defined
in the international standard ISO-
14121 (2007)

• CIRSMA™ uses the input data to

automatically assess risk before
the application of risk reduction
measures.
Risk Estimation
• If the hazardous event is
eliminated hazardous situations
are not likely to develop.

• By removing the hazards

processes can be determined to
be inherently or intrinsically safe.
