Attorney for the Choctaw County Economic Development District (May, 1998 Janu
ary, 2002). Part-time position. The District is a county-wide public body crea
ted under Mississippi statute that is controlled by a ten member board of direct
ors composed of citizens of the county appointed by the Choctaw County, Mississi
ppi, Board of Supervisors. During my tenure this agency funneled over 30 millio
n dollars in public funds into infrastructure for the Red Hills EcoPlex, an ecol
ogically oriented industrial park centered around a 440 megawatt lignite-fired c
irculating fluidized bed power plant and adjacent lignite mine. The project aim
s to build an industrial park composed of a symbiotic mix of industries utilizin
g natural byproducts of the power plant and is one of the first such efforts in
the United States. This project was the primary reason the CCEDD was formed.
Attorney for Town of French Camp, Mississippi (March, 2000 January, 2002). Thi
s was pro bono work. Small historic town on the Natchez Trace Parkway that has e
xtremely limited funding because of a lack of tax base. Its Mayor and Board of
Alderman occasionally needed legal assistance and called upon me as necessary.
Graduated from University of Mississippi School of Law (December, 1997). The ab
ove listed experiences are only post law school graduation. I also have much ad
ministrative experience gained prior to law school.
