FRANK GATES ACCLAIM: 03/01/2006 - 11/30/2007


Hired as a senior Staff Adjuster to adjust Longshore claims on behalf of a Longs
hore Mutual club. Assigned between 75 and 80 claims with exposure in excess of
$25,000. Responsibilities included directing defense council and maintaing a clo
se working relationship with the Clubs members and it's brokers. The location of
the Club's Members were primarily in the Great Lakes as well as the upper Midwe
st.
SIGNAL MUTUAL INDEMNITY ASSOC: 12/01/2005 - 02/28/2006
Hired as a Senior Claims Manager supervising Longshore Claims with exposures ex
ceeding $100,000.00. The Club has approximately 200 Members throughout the coun
try including Alaska, Guam and Hawaii. Responsible for monitoring the status of
claims and suggesting various strategies with our independent adjusters and att
orneys. Also responsible as a contact person to maintain a cohesive relationshi
p between our TPA'S and Members. In addition, sent status reports to Senior Man
agement and London on all large losses (exceeding $250,000.00). The estimated l
arge loss caseload for which I supervised hovered near 100. Finally, participat
ed in file review with our designated TPA's, Club Members, and in some instances
Member Brokers.
The Gray Insurance Company: 04/01/1999 - 11/30/2005
Initially hired as a Senior Claims Adjuster in the home office (Metairie, Louisi
ana) responsible for adjusting claims of all lines with assigned Risks. Had a c
aseload of 75 to 80 claims of which 75% were Longshore claims. In March of 2000
transferred to Midland, Texas to oversee the opening of a new Branch Office. D
ue to my experience adjusting Longshore claims, Federal claims arising in Texas
or other Western States were sent to Midland for handling. In addition, I had a
pproximately 25 large losses (various lines) in Western States. Supervised 2 ad
justers as well.
In November of 2000 promoted to Vice President of Claims and returned to the Hom
e Office. Responsibilities included supervising 32 adjusters and support Staff
located in the Home Office as well as 5 branch offices. The Gray Insurance Comp
any insured in excess of 200 companies that generated $100 million in direct ann
ual written premiums.
Reported large losses (exceeding $1,000,000.00) to the President and the Board o
f Directors. Also participated in Claim File reviews with the help of my assist
ant and in some instances another experienced adjuster.
Responsibilities included final resolution of large losses or decide to litigat
e cases. Chose Council when warranted. Attended mediations of large losses and
had policy limit authority with which to settle disputed claims.
FARA: 03/01/1998 - 11/15/1998
Retained by this TPA on a contract basis (1099) to adjust Longshore claims for
a large self insured shipyard in Southeast Mississippi. Assigned a caseload of
approximately 250 cases with a total incurred as those exceeding $75,000.00. Ex
pected to supervise defense council and handle cases to conclusion.
Randles & Holbrook, Inc: 09/01/1990 - 01-31/1998
My wife and I formed this corporation with a mission of adjusting and consulting
with Insurance Companies and Self-Insured Corporations. Adjusted the more comp
lex claims and supervised staff adjusters. During the peak years of our existen
ce we employed three adjusters handling between 375 and 400 lost time cases (LSH
W).
THE SCHAFFER COMPANIES: 03/01/1987- 08/30/1990
Initially hired to open the Cherry Hill, New Jersey office as Branch Manager han
dling multi-line claims with an emphasis on Longshore claims. Responsible for a
djusting 50 claims as well as generating new business.
Promoted to Senior Vice-President in December of 1988 and transferred to Houston
, Texas to open a new Branch Office. Expanded duties included overseeing all Lo
ngshore claims in 6 Branch offices.
