Demonstration Tests (CDTs) at site for EG LNG Project in Equatorial Guinea base
d on Conoco Phillips' Cascade Process Technology, Facilities Engineering Group
for Motorola Semiconductor Manufacturing Plant for Operational Improvements augm
entation of operational efficiencies of various systems- closed and open loop, r
efrigeration and process controls to support the production facilities, Nuclear
Engineering Department at Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Plant, Phoenix , Arizona
. Work comprised of Design Changes and Modifications, liaison with NRC to resolv
e discrepancies and Non Conformance Reports (NCRs) , design and implement chang
es for conformance, resolving daily operational problems with the assigned syste
ms;
Education:
* MS Chemical Engineering, Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, NJ
* BS Chemical Engineering, University Of Delhi, India
REGISTRATION:
Passed written PE exam in Texas
TECHNICAL PAPERS:
"Thermal Degradation of Atactic Polymers", Journal of Polymer Science,
1973.

Industry Experience:
Group Supervisor, Sr. Engineer, Process Engineer Systems/Project Engineer: Becht
el Corporation, May1980- August 1988 and October 2005 to Feb 2009
* Modeled steady-state process operation and individual equipment and piping sys
tems. Generated energy and mass balance reports as well as technical data requir
ed to specify process equipment.
* A broad based knowledge on equipment design, sizing, specification, and evalua
tion. Relevant equipment includes
Pumps, compressors, packed towers for absorption and stripping services, adsorpt
ion units, heat transfer equipment, and turbo-expanders.
* Developed Process Flow Diagrams showing process control philosophy in adequate
detail to provide basis for Piping & Instrument Diagram control illustration, i
ncluding preparation of stream summary tables generated from computer process si
mulation software and exported into spreadsheets.
* Independently Developed Piping & Instrument Diagrams from PFDs; including re-d
eveloping and checking vendor drawings for major process, skid drawings and offs
ite utilities. Reviewed vendor drawings in order to establish that equipment and
instrumentation details have all been captured.
* A broad based knowledge in the field of fluid flow and hydraulics, including t
wo-phase flow and velocity constraints as related to the sizing and design of pi
ping systems.
* Prepared process and equipment Line List, including Process Engineering respon
sibilities concerning normal operating conditions, upset conditions, and the ass
ignment of design temperature and pressure as regulated by the applicable ASME p
iping and API codes.
* Prepared equipment data sheets, writing process duty specifications for propri
etary vendor equipment systems (such as membrane separation units, flare systems
, reactors etc.), and analyzing technical bid tabs.
* Calculated emergency relief loads, sizing pressure safety valves, evaluating r
elief system hydraulics, and analyzing flare size and radiation profiles. Flaren
et was software of choice for safety relief scenario calculations.
* Assisted in troubleshooting operational problems in the field and contributed
recommendations to resolve performance deficiencies through experience in plant
operations and/or technical service while applying knowledge of industry standar
ds and writing and reviewing new engineering specification and guidelines using
common industry standards and best practices.
* HAZOPed process and system designs not only to safe guard design, operation of
equipment and process systems but also generate a process plant that is sustain
able in the long run.
* Coordinated with designers to develop general arrangement (GA) and assembly dr
awings. Demonstrated willingness to embrace new technology, learn how to improve
designs, and helped develop innovative approaches for problem solving through s
ix sigma methodologies acknowledging cost, schedule and safety restrains.
* Trained and guided less experienced engineers in needed engineering fundamenta
ls such as line list preparation, pump calcs.
* Produced reports and PowerPoint presentations on lessons learned from various
plant incidents
