Details of the Programme/Project/Initiative

Brief description of the programme/project/initiative

This project was started keeping in mind to bridge the gap between academia
and industry under the Industry Academia initiative at Hindustan University.
Normally Academia is involved in teaching and pursuing research and the Industry is
involved in producing and selling with a single motive of a profit oriented business.
The survey say that only 25% of the student who is coming out of the college,
particularly from engineering is employable in the Industry. Hence, this project
BIADH ( Bridging the Industrial and Academia Divide at Hindustan) with an only aim to
produce the industry ready workforce. We entered into understanding and tie – ups
with various Industries to accomplish the goals of this BIADH. For example, with
Infosys under Campus Connect program to train on technical skill as designed by
Infosys. To take out unknown fear and ambiguity of the staff and students tie-up with
M/s.Only Success was established to conduct, Born to Win, Time management and
Time Based Planning programs. Mission 10X was included in this project to enhance
the capability of the staff to provide a better teaching methodology in collaboration
with M/s.Wipro. Leadership development programme was designed by Disney
Institute, USA, for the staff to inculcate the leadership capability within them for the
purpose of transferring the potential to the students. Hindustan Team building
workshop was conducted by experts from the industry. BIADH offers 72 hours
(spread over 14 working days ) of aptitude and soft skill training under pre-industrial
placement programme for every student along with M/s. Layam. Value added
training to provide certification in CCNA, ORACLE WDP, CADDAM, SAP B1, KPMG
through memorandum of understanding with industries, like, CISCO , Oracle, SAP,
CAD centre, EMC2, CSS. Industry help is also sort to train the students to take the
mandatory exams, like, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT to pursue higher studies abroad. BIADH
through the ICT Digital Live CRW offers degree programs to the employee working at
industry to enhance their qualification at their own work place. Under the BIADH
regular interaction between Industrial personnel and the students are provided with
the innovation of ICT Digital Live CRW, by industries, like, TVS Delphi, Cybernet Slash
Support, IBM, EMC and other companies. BIADH also offers continuously specialized
training in Open source system Programming. LiNUX training, Sensor networks
training, embedded system training, building ROBOTICS in conjunction with the
industries.

Why was the project started

- To bridge the gap between the academia and industry.

Objective: The main objective of this project is to Bridge the gap between academia
and Industry. Thereby, providing a well groomed employable students and to develop
a work force team to take up the challenges in the industry.

employees from various industries.

1. To Inculcate confidence and communication affluence - Soft and Life skill


training to final year
students, at the beginning of the VII semester in collaboration with Ms. Layam,

2. To provide a better groomed student to the industry – Personality and
skill development - Faculty development program in collaboration with M/s.
Creative Communications.
3. Value added certification program - in collaboration with CISCO, Oracle
University, SAP, KPMG, CADAM technologies and Manya Foundations.
4. For upgrading the qualification – PG degree and diploma programs - ICT
connectivity to the Industry using Digital Live CRW - for upgrading the qualification
on the work spot, like, M.E. in CSE, CC, SE, Mechanical and Auto.
5. Revising the technical knowledge for career development of the
students - Campus Connect Program - in collaboration with Infosys, Chennai.
6. To address the skills gap – Academic Alliance with Industries, EMC and CSS.
7. To equip the faculty to address and reorganize the attitude of the
student - training and development program for the staff in collaboration with
International organizations like, M/s. Disney institute, M/s. Balmer Lawrie and M/s.
IBM Inc.
8. To Project oriented workshop by Industries
- Open Source system programming and Linux training by M/s. Linuxpert,
- Sensor networks programming and embedded system workshop in MSP 430 by
M/s. Gill Instruments.
9. Exposure to Industrial experience through Industrial personnel – ICT
Digital Live CRW by Delphi, CSS.
