Principal Engineer, Software
* Designed functions for Westinghouse AP1000 Safety Parameter Display System (SP
DS), a real time plant monitoring application run on an Ovation workstation.
* Modified functional design and Matlab programming of two SPDS functional block
s (FB's). Used Matlab and Simulink to generate numerous test cases for the SPDS
FB's.
* Instantiated several hundred FB's, connecting FB's with inputs, other FB's and
outputs, and mode dependent setpoints to nearly complete the SPDS functional de
sign. Used Matlab and Simulink to model SPDS for test case generation. Used Do
ors for requirements tracking.
* Resolved and incorporated comments in a non-safety grade software development
procedure based on IEEE-12207 and other standards.
* Wrote preliminary DCS Reliability Analysis Plan including reliability analysis
requirements and methods of analysis. Schedule/manpower estimates by others in
corporated into plan.
Rev 1 Power Services at AREVA NP, Inc Alpharetta, GA 2007 - 2008
DCS Upgrade Verification Engineer (6 month Contract Position)
* As a team member, performed Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) of
safety-related software requirements for DCS upgrade, through use of a RTM.
* Tracked Software Life Cycle requirements
* Performed IEEE-1012 Software Design Analysis verifying that all software requi
rements are implemented and that no extra safety functions existed.
* Used Requisite-Pro for requirements tracking. Using SQL, generated documentat
ion for software & hardware RTM's.
* Attended one-week training for Teleperm XS hardware and software.
Granite Services Inc at General Electric Energy, Wilmington, NC 2006 - 200
7
DCS Systems Engineer (8 month Contract Position)
* Economic Simplified Boiling Water Reactor (ESBWR) new design licensing activit
ies.
* As a team member, prepared Safety-Related Software Management Plans for the ne
w ESBWR DCS design to meet US government regulations (10CFR50). Researched and
recommended NRC Regulatory Guides (RGs) and IEEE standards to meet NRC licensing
requirements for Safety-Related DCS (RG 1.152, NUREG-0800, IEEE-603, IEEE-7.4.3
-2, BTP-14 and others).
* Provided input to resolve NRC requests for additional information.
* Wrote selected sections of the Chapter 7 ESBWR DCD to obtain licensing certifi
cation of the ESBWR instrumentation and control design.
Myriad Technical Services at Florida Power & Light (FPL), Juno Beach, FL 200

Digital Upgrade Verification Analyst (6 month Contract Position)
* Verification of digital upgrades performed on St. Lucie and planned for Turkey
Point power plants.
* The Qualified Safety Parameter Display System was in the process of being veri
fied for the Turkey Point power plant. Project vendors: Triconex for PLC platfo
rm and Westinghouse for Common Q qualified flat panel display, submitted V&V pac
kages. These V&V packages were in the process of being reviewed.
* Exported logic blocks and I/O points from the Invensys/Foxboro DCS 8.0 configu
ration database to assist verification.
