The 10 day visit to Larsen and toubro company for the implant training was a Hilarious
experience. For this 10 day visit, i was accompanied by one of my school friend vivek.For the
first day we were supposed to report to the company at 9:00 a.m. My friend came to my house
readily dressed. Since the company was located near the highways where there was no public
transportation, we had to find an alternative transportation for the 10 days. So we departed from
my house through a hyundai i10 car of my dad¶s friend for the first day to the company. As usual
like typical indians we were late to the company. We reached the company only at 9:30 a.m.
Since it was the first day, the half of the day was spent in filling up our details and introducing to
the H.R of the company.The Rest half of the day we spent taking a look at plant and their work.

On the second day, we were directed to Engineer who is incharge of the Machinery in the
factory. His Name was Mr.Prem Kumar. He explained to us what was the true nature of work in
the factory that was going on. Taking down the points and observing them in the plant
consumed our second day also. The Third day we were once again asked to take a thorough look
at each and every unit of the factory like Tools, auxiliary, Hydraulics and the Programming units.
In conversation with one of the engineers, we came to know that the machineries were controlled
by PLC.On the fourth day, we were assigned a task of complete description about the company
as a report.We worked for nearly two days to complete the entire report about the plant and
presented it to the HR department.We received laurels for our detailed description about the
company by them.

On the sixth day, we were called by the chief Engineer in the Electricals and Automation
Department Mr.Vaidhyanathan.He assigned us a task of going through the Datasheets of various
Ics and reminded us that a query session would be held based on that.We made our best efforts
going through them.When the query session started, we really stumbled at him. We could make
through much of the queries.Then, started his suggestions on how about dealing with the sheets
and their description.Then, on the seventh day, another task was given to us of designing the
same automation system using IC555 timers. For this, I had to make a thorough study of the
description of the IC with the suggestions given by him.

With immense efforts and some simulation work, I designed a simple circuit for Automation of
the machine instead of PLC being used.For that design also, i received good appreciation from
the Engineers.

On the tenth day, while we were about to leave, we started feeling as if we were an employee of
that company. With the experience and the suggestions that we imparted from the executives of
the company, we departed from the place with our heart filled with pleasant moments that we
had in the company and the sweats that we shed for the tasks.
