Valid Schengen visa are also valid for the entry to Switzerland
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
1. Only applicants who are resident in Iran may apply for a Schengen visa. In other cases
one has to apply in the country of residence.
2. A visa application shall be presented at least 3 weeks (15 working days) in advance. The
Embassy delivers visa within the shortest period of time possible (10-14 days).
3. It is the Embassy’s sole and full discretion to informally refuse a visa. A formal written
decision can be asked, from the Federal Office for Migration in Bern, Switzerland.
4. All visa applications are treated individually and according to the applicable rules and
procedures. They are decided on their individual merits.
5. No information related to an individual visa application can be given to third persons.
6. Entry into Switzerland may be refused at any time at the border if the reasons for having
obtained the visa were false or do not apply any more.
7. The applications submitted through services of travel agencies will not be considered.
8. Groups containing more than 10 applicants are requested to contact the visa section at
least one week in advance (altogether 4 weeks or 20 working days in advance) to get an
appointment for an interview.
1. An application form which is fully completed and signed by the applicant personally.
Applications which are not duly completed, dated and signed will not be accepted.
2. A valid passport with valid exit permit from Iran. Must be valid for at least three months beyond
the expiration date of the Swiss visa.
3. Two recent passport photos per applicant.
4. Photocopies of your passport (old passport: pages 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, new passport: pages 2, 3, 4, 5)
5. Shenasnameh (original) and photocopies of all pages
6. A confirmed round-trip ticket and a copy of the flight ticket. Open tickets are not accepted
7. Travel Insurance must cover the number of days foreseen for the visa, with coverage of
minimum CHF 50’000 for rescue operation, return journey for medical reasons, medical care, and
emergency hospital care in the event of an accident or a sudden illness during the persons stay.
8. Copies of valid visas.
9. Application fee IRR 840'000 in cash (no cheque accepted). This fee is not refundable.
The Embassy may ask for additional English documents if deemed necessary.
STUDENT VISA
All required documents must be in triplicate:
1. Application form, fully completed and signed by the applicant (incl. 4 pictures)
2. CV (Resume)
3. Declaration for choosing a Swiss university / private school
4. Letter of Admission
5. Confirmation of payment of school tuition fee
6. Financial documentation (bank certificate / financial support letter)
7. Translation of previous diplomas and School Certificates
The applicant has to sign a letter of promise to exit from Switzerland (the suitable form is
available in the Embassy). A foreign language test in form of an interview will be conducted at the
Embassy.
Your request will then be forwarded to the competent immigration authority in Switzerland for final
decision. The procedure takes approximately 6-8 weeks.
MEDICAL TREATMENT
1. The hospital in Switzerland must confirm the duration and necessity for treatment in
Switzerland, as well as the securely covered medical costs.
2. If the patient is accompanied, an additional confirmation by the hospital is needed.
VISA EXEMPTION
1. Residence Documents accepted for entry into Switzerland and Liechtenstein together with
a valid passport without Visa:
Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Rep., Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece,
Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland,
