Thank you for Buying the CRAFTSMAN CORDLESS AIR COMPRESSOR


AND 12 VOLT POWER SUPPLY.

SEVERAL IMPORTANT POINTS ABOUT YOUR AIR COMPRESSOR AND


POWER SUPPLY

1. Your Craftsman Cordless Air Compressor and 12 Volt Power Supply works
on a built-in maintenance free sealed lead acid rechargeable battery can be
recharged by AC or DC Power.

2. Yqur Craftsman Cordless Air Compressor and 12 Volt Power Supply will not
be fully charged at the time of purchase. It must be recharged by the A.C.
charger for 13-15 hours or by the p.c, par p.fln~rYfqr ~74 hqHr~: Ple~~(;}

RULES FOR SAFE OPERATION

SAFEGUARDS
1. Do not continue to operate the unit after YELLOW LIGHT comes on.
RECHARGE THE UNIT IMMEDIATELY.
Overdischarge will cause battery failure.

2. Only use the provided AC Charger.

3. Avoid charging battery in ambient temperature below 5°C


( 40°F) or above 40°C ( 105°F).

4. Do not operate unit while charging.

o. Do not put unit near fire or inflammable gas.

6. Do not expose unit to rain.

1. Do not put metal objects into DC 12V OUTPUT Socket.

PSI. To avoid over inflation, NEVER exceed recommended
pressure on articles to be inflated. Bursting articles can
cause serious injury.

11. Always check pressure with pressure gauge. Never leave


compressor unattended while in use.

12. Never attempt to start the car engine while the unit
is still connected to the car's cigarette lighter plug.
Fuse blowout may occur.

13. Recharge the unit every 3-5 months even if the unit is
has not been used. This will keep the battery at optimum
operating levels.

14. Never carry the unit by the hose.

1. A Cordless, Portable Rechargeable 250 P.S.1. Air Compressor
that can be recharged from AC or DC current for inflating
car tires, bicycle tires, sports balls, air mattresses, and
recreational equipment.

2. A Cordless, Portable Rechargeable Multi Purpose 12 Volt ( DC )


Power Supply that can be recharged from AC or DC current and
operates all 12 Volt Electrical Appliances ... Celiular
telephones, televisions,. spotlights, electrical tools,
vacuum cleaners etc.

OPERATION
This Craftsman Model #9 15045 Cordless Air Compressor and 12 Volt Power
Supply has been made with care a id pride to specific Craftsman
criteria. Pease otlow these O. eratinq Instructions for best and
safe results.

Accessories Included ( LOCATED ON BOTTOM SIDE OF UNIT)

1. AC Charger with 6 Ft Cord


2. 6 Ft Long D.C. f2 'Volt Recha-rging Cord
3. 15 Amp Fuse
4. 3 Nozzle Adapters for Inflation Needs

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS (See Operating Illustrations)

The Cordless Air Compressor and 12 Volt Power Supply is operated by a 3-Way-
Switch located on the top of the unit.

Position 1: OFF/RECHARGE: Main power is turned off and the


battery can be recharged by AC
or DC current if necessary.

Position 2: POWER ON- The DC Power Supply is functional
CHECK CHARGE: in this position and 12V accessories
can be plugged into 12V power outlet
for operation. Also the battery charge
can be checked when in this position
as the indicator lights will display.

Position 3: AIR COMPRESSOR The Air Compressor will turn-on


ON: in this mode.

A. 12 Volt Power Supply Operation

The Power Supply will supply power to all 12V DC items


with a 15 amp or less power rating by simply plugging
your desired item into the 12 Volt power outlet on the
TOP of the unit. Put the on/off switch in the Power On/
Check charge Mode (Position 2) to operate this function.
The Power Supply is now on and the indicator lights will
come on to confirm the status of the battery charge; DO
NOT attempt to power items higher than DC 12V 15 amp
rating. If $0, you will blow the fuse and damage may occur
to the unit.

NOTE: The working times for the 12 Volt Cordless Power Supply

B. Air Compressor Operation

1. Unwrap the Air Hose from the body of the compressor.

2. Push Down and" Lock" the universal tire valve onto the
valve stem or use the appropriate adapter if inn~ti'rig
balls, air mattresses, etc.

3. Put the switch in the "Compressor On" Position


(Position 3) and the unit will inflate what ever item
you are inflating.

4. Check the pressure gauge to make sure the necessary and


correct amount of air pressure (P.S.I.) is being used.

5. When the desired amount of pressure is reached, switch


back to the OFF position (Position 1) and rewrap the
air hose around compressor.

NOTE:· The working times for fully charged Compressor are as

It is recommended that the engine be running when the unit is


recharging If you are charging off of DC 12V power.

Check the battery charge by putting the switch in the middle
position (Position 2). The indicafor lights will come on
Indicating:

A. Needs Charging
Weak Battery

B.• Fully Charged Battery

The BATTERY INDICATOR LIGHTS on the top of the unit will indicate
the built-in battery condition once the switch is pushed to CENTER
position (Position 2). The GREEN LIGHT indicates a charged
battery. The YELLOW LIGHT indicates the battery is low and needs
recharging. The RED LIGHT will appear when you are charging the
unit from AC or DC power.

CAUTION: If the YELLOW LIGHT comes on first, the battery is weak


and needs recharging. Do not continue to operate the
unit after GREEN LIGHT turn OFF, RECHARGE THE UNIT
IMMEDIATELY. If the battery power is totally drained,
it may not be rechargeable. For maintaining the
battery power, recharge the battery once 3-5 months
even if the unit is unattended.

AC CHARGING METHOD - BY AC 115V HOUSEHOLD CURRENT

2. Insert the jack of AC charger into recharging port on top of unit.
3. Plug charger into the correct household AIC electrical outlet
(make sure in voltage is correct).
4. TheRED.CHARGING LIGHT will come on to confirm charging
proceeding. Recharging time is 13 to 15 hours by AC charger.
O~"eHARGING METHOD - BY DC 12V RECHARGING CABLE VIA
CIGARETTE LIGHTER PLUG

1. Place the power switch to OFF/RECHARGE position (Position 1).


2. Plug the jack of recharging cord into recharging port on top
panel below indicator light.
3. Plug the cigarette plug into 12V car's cigarette lighter socket.
4. The RED CHARGING LIGHT will illuminate to confirm charging
proceeding. Recharging time is approximately 3 hours with the car
engine running.

CAUTION: Recharging while car engine is not running may drain car's
battery and IS NOT RECOMMENDED.

FUSE REPLACEMENT

1. Make sure that the switch is on OFF/RECHARGE position


(Position 1) and the 12V OUTPUT socket is disconnected.
2. Insert flat object into slot to open fuse cover on bottom side of unit.
3. Replace new 15A FUSE ONLY, close the cover.
