This course is a continuation of concepts, practices and principals introduced in Info 280.You will expand your technical skill
with spatial analysis software and enhance your critical thinking ability. In addition students will learn other data visualization
techniques through their exploration and development of dashboards and scorecards that provide critical business
intelligence. The assigned text is a resource for you to use to expand your existing capabilities using GIS.
PERFORMANCE GUIDELINES
You will be able to earn a maximum of 500 points with each of the projects and the two- (2) briefings accounting for 100
points. These assignments are averaged according to the weights assigned to them to determine a single score.Your project
work will be evaluated on creativity, correctness, content and form.Your participation in class discussions will be of benefit to
you.
EXAMPLE: A student with a final weighted score of 89.9 would receive a B+ while a student with a final
weighted average of 90.0 would receive an A-.
You are expected to attend classes, although no one can force you to do so. Note that the statewide system has determined
that it is necessary for faculty to take roll periodically. Also, your absence from any class does not relieve you of the
responsibility to meet either the requirements set forth in this outline or assignments made or changed during your absence.
Knowledge of changes in assignments, due dates, or other items related to this schedule is the responsibility of the student.
Note too, that a little extra effort in the presentation and format of the project assignment can reap great rewards i.e., a
better grade. If you are in need of an accommodation for a disability in order to participate in this class, please let me know
as soon as possible. You should also contact Services to Students with Disabilities at UH-183, (909)537-5238.
