ABOUT THE PROGRAM:


Coming from the law experts of Davis & Kuelthau; Liebmann, Conway, Olejniczak & Jerry; and Godfrey and Kahn. Attorneys Bruce
Deadman and Geoff Lacey will start the program off with their presentation on Wisconsin Federal Legal Developments (Case Law,
Legislation and Regulations) where they will talk about recent state and federal legislative and regulatory developments with focus on the
private sector, including “rollback” of Employee Free Choice Act, Paycheck Fairness Act, Wisconsin Act 290 (employee meetings), layoff
rules, and much more. Ross Townsend and Kurt Goehre will then continue with Hot Wage and Hour Topics, including “donning and
doffing,” independent contractor vs. employee, travel time, retail sales exemption and personal liability.

Similar to last year, attendees will have the opportunity to select two breakout sessions out of four offered. Pre-selection is not
required, simply attend the two presentations that appeal to you most.
• Attorneys Kelley Kuglitsch and Andy Bezouska will provide a Benefits Update where they will review developments in the area
of benefits, including Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, tax rules for adult child health insurance coverage, legal challenges
to health care reform, new retirement plan fee disclosures and fiduciary rules, and legal updates to 401K plans.
• Attorneys Ross Townsend and Kurt Goehre will provide a discussion on Post-Employment Issues. They will discuss recovery
of employee advances, vacation/PTO payouts, return of company property, restrictive agreements and more.
• Attorney Geoff Lacy will present Social Media Issues. He will discuss employee “rights” and responsibilities, organizing issues,
employee use of company resources, and employee criticism of company through electronic media.
• Attorneys Ron Pfeiffer and Bob Burns will team up to present the Union and NLRB Update. They will cover the new NLRB
Board and what that may mean, recent NLRB cases, and does the recent development in Madison herald a renaissance in union
awareness and activity, and more.
ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:
Bruce Deadman is the most recent attorney addition to the Green Bay office of Davis & Kuelthau and specializes in labor and employment law. Bruce
previously worked for Baker Tilly and concurrently was a municipal judge for five years. He represents employers in labor negotiations,
discrimination defense, disability and ADA issues, wrongful discharge or employment contract disputes, noncompete issues and other sensitive
personnel transactions.
Bob Burns is a shareholder with Davis & Kuelthau. He represents employers in labor negotiations, discrimination defense, disability and ADA issues,
wrongful discharge or employment contract disputes, non-compete issues and other sensitive personnel transactions. He also provides advice on a
wide variety of school law issues. Bob has his J.D. from Willamette University.
Andrew Bezouska is an attorney with Davis & Kauelthau. Andrew focuses his practice in the area of employee benefits, providing compliance advice
and effective solutions covering a wide range of retirement and welfare plan issues. He has extensive experience advising clients in the areas of benefit
plan compliance and design, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, the Internal Revenue Code, and state insurance laws. His primary client base includes
employers of all sizes in the both the public and private sectors. Andrew’s broad client base reflects his experience serving the individual needs of very
different organizations, from tax-sheltered annuities for school districts to deferred compensation plans for large corporations.
Geoff Lacy is an associate of Davis & Kuelthau and advises employers on employment law issues, including hiring, discipline and discharge,
discrimination defense and policy, FMLA, FLSA, and other areas of employment law. He also provides representation in labor relations, including
contract negotiations, grievance processing and related areas. In addition to employment law, Geoff regularly provides business immigration
representation to employers seeking the services of foreign workers in the United States.
Kelley Kuglitsch is an attorney in the Employee Benefits Practice Group of Davis and Kuelthau. She works closely with the firm's clients to assist
them with employee benefits, human resources and compensation needs. She regularly assists employers in their role as plan sponsors, administrators
and fiduciaries, to comply with the complex standards of ERISA and Internal Revenue Code. Additionally, she advises them on continually changing
benefits regulations and laws. Kelley graduated from the DePaul University of Law.
Ron Pfeifer is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Practice Group of Godfrey and Kahn. He advises employers regarding employee
discipline, for example, as well as discrimination issues of all kinds. Ron often deals with issues such as downsizing, the Americans with Disabilities
Act, compensation issues under the Fair Labor Standards Act and covenants not to compete. Ron received his J.D from the Northwestern University
School of Law.
Kurt Goehre practices employment law and general litigation with Liebmann, Conway, Olejniczak & Jerry, S.C. A large portion of Kurt’s practice
focuses on employment matters, including wage and hour litigation, contract disputes, employee benefits law, worker’s compensation, employment
discrimination litigation, and various regulatory compliance issues.
Ross Townsend is a partner with Liebmann, Conway, Olejniczak & Jerry, S.C. where he specializes in employment law, including disputes under the
WI Fair Employment Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, ADEA, ADA, NLRA, FLSA, FMLA and others. He advices and trains clients regarding
ways to minimize or prevent legal risk while simultaneously achieving business objectives. Ross earned his J.D. from University of Wisconsin Law
School.
