our role as an independent vendor.

We have an established business presence in verticals as diverse as Maps,

Travel, Handicrafts, Greetings, Celebrations & Festivals, Real Estate,
Education and Media. In addition, we carry the potential of diversifying
into any online business vertical, which makes us a multifaceted company
with numerous divisions following distinct traits. We own and manage
more than 500 websites and portals. Also, we have over 2000 domain
names in our domain bank.

We have been a member of NASSCOM, the apex body of Indian Software

and Service companies, for the last six years. We are also associated with
Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), India's premier business
association that has a direct membership of over 6300 organisations from
the private as well as public sectors.

4
The Innovation: Compare Infobase has launched Mapsofworld.com
(MOW), a mapping portal that has emerged as the largest online resource of
thematic maps, in addition to various other mapping and GIS related activities. In
the area of products, Compare offers customized online and offline Maps and the
MOW CD. It undertakes commissioned projects for urban mapping within the
services segment. Within the solutions arena, it has launched a one-stop
knowledge portal—a repository that
covers both the vertical and horizontal dimensions of the mapping space. Today,
MOW is the largest player, with over 300 mapping themes. These are related to
diamond exporters, Urban Science models, purchasing habits, product penetration
and a host of other issues.Apart from thematic maps, MOW also hosts over 6000
general maps. The solution is innovative on account of its global relevance and
availability, open ended nature, collaborative look and feel and multi-dimensional
format.

Key Achievements: Mapsofworld.com has improved its revenues and

profitability and today, draws over 1.5 lakh visitors a day

Potential Market: MOW is addressing the rapidly expanding Thematic

Mapping segment. Some of the other players tapping this market are universities
and Educational Institutes, Web 2.0 applications developers and associated sites
which are not directly into Mapping like the National Geography and Lonely Planet.
Since all of these organizations are not into mapping in a commercial way, MOW
can explore business opportunities in the areas they cater to.
