Indian Renaissance

The catastrophic terrorist attack 26/11 on Mumbai cannot be comprehended in few

sentences or in any number articles. The gravity of loss of the kith and kin, near dear ones
could not be summed up in any amount of words. The vocabulary will fall short while
expressing the plight of the relative who lost one amongst themselves in this dastardly act
of terrorism.

No consolation monetarily or otherwise could assuage the boiling tempers of the common
men of India, which faced the indiscriminate bullets of those terrorists. I am yet to come
to the terms about “How a human being could do this, without provocation of any sort”.
This raises another question regarding the training these terrorist undergo. Their masters,
the perpetrator are misguiding the kids, youth in the name of religion.

I do have good friends from Muslim community who does not endorse these activities in
the name of ‘ALLAHA’. These so called MASSIHA of Muslims religions are the worst
enemies of their own religion. They are defaming one of the oldest faiths worshiped by
the human being.

Terrorism has taken a shape of organisation and it is expanding its wings/operation like
an MNC. The training details which were made public after “Kasab” interrogation has
startled the investigation agency because of the training levels created by those terrorist
outfits. These would put any MNC’s annual appraisal to shame; reason its meticulously
planned process. The stringent test to be cleared at every level to prove your candidature
for the next level is awesome. I have my doubts if these kinds of psychological,
physiological tests are conducted by our Para Military or police forces, except the routine
medical test.

The audacity of the terrorists and the attitude of Indian politicians / bureaucrats had
shaken the trust and jolted the confidence of the common men. He realised that he has not
got any kind of protection in his own country and his life has no value in the eyes of his
own elected leaders. They need NSG commandos to ensure their safety along-with their
family safety the buck stop there, common men can survive without any protection, who
has the time and energy to contemplate on that.

But they say that there are two kinds of after effect of every incident: ‘bad’ and
‘good’.Let me share with you some bad once first:

The blame game started by the political parties

The frivolous statements of the National and State level politicians. It was disheartening
to hear the irresponsible statements of the “so called responsible leaders”. The most
disgraceful was the comment made by the Kerala CM about the Unikrishnan family.
Then the Terror tourism by the then CM Deshmukh to TAJ with Ritesh and Ram Gopal
Verma.
Most of the common people think that our media, especially the electronic media was
doing the great job, but let me share some of what I witnessed on the TV
• One of our very popular lady journalist (of English news channel) was seen
putting in glycerine in the eyes (make them moist) to evoke emotions of the
people. Asked silly questions from the relative of the hostage that from where s/he
called from, jeopardising the safety of the hostage, as it was live on TV.
• Asking one prominent journalist who was trying to ascertain the status of her
journalist wife that “How you feel”. It must have been acutely tormenting for the
poor guy.
• Channels were in race to score one over the other by bringing in all the live
coverage. They lost all sense of sensitivity that it could hamper the operations of
the forces. They say that the TV connection was removed but think before buying
this idea as the terrorist were equipped with the satellite phone, which could even
view the TV footage.
• The live coverage of commandos slithering from helicopter their counts must
have hampered the operation in many ways

No where in the world the media is allowed to cover the on going operation, this was the
operation to salvage the reputation of a country like India. Our renowned journalists and
the channels should have exercised some restrain. Let me compliment here “Times Now”
they were responsible enough not to show the live coverage after the request of the
authorities.

Let us now talk about the Good Thing which emerged out of this gruesome attack.

It has totally shaken the people of India more specially the common men. The way it has
responded to this situation was never witnessed before. That is why I named it as “Indian
Renaissance” the awakening of the common men. The people of India.

It was wonderful to see the support provided by people of different states. Whether Bihar,
Gujrat, Punjab and Delhi to name the few. The one voice which this nation has achieved
was not less then a miracle. Because this display of unity has sent the clear message to
the world that this India will not tolerate attack on its sovereignty and will give a befitting
answer.

Also it has given a lesson to our own politician and the political parties that the politics of
“Divide and Rule” will no more work. If you have to survive work and deliver results.
Make progressive agendas, not the one based on caste, creed, OBC, SC etc... , come with
something concrete, otherwise it not far when the same public will put you in oblivion the
one who elected you.

I witnessed it for the first time that every leader was talking in one tune while discussing
the terrorist issue in the parliament. They unanimously vowed to fight terrorism.
I hope this flame will keep on burning and India will assert itself in the world politics and
the Indian public will not get befooled by our politicians.
