My degree centred on the enhancement of skills within music and sound. A wide variety of units
are available, most relevant being: Studio Theory and Practice, Location Recording, Careers In
Creative Industries and Creative Digital Sound.

My dissertation is of paramount relevance to this position as I acted as producer, studio


engineer, A&R and marketing manager, to produce an E.P for an external client, collaborate
with others from different courses to produce professional level artwork and then market the
release of it with a concert and advertising and internet marketing.

Throughout my course I have developed my abilities to a confident and professional level. Such
as:
• Learning the music industry and dealing with marketing and networking.

2010 - Present Promotion Officer & Event Manager, Live and Unsigned Ltd.
• Promotions;
o Controlling the companies’ website and social media platforms for marketing and
promotion.
• Bookings;
o Two-month UK tour, bands such as Cancer Bats, We Are The Ocean, Sandi
Thom, Attack! Attack! and many others.
• Event Management;
o Working away from home all over England and Scotland to run all day events
o Job includes; delegation, team work, people management, maintaining
relationships, maintaining a positive attitude during 19 hour shifts, time
management, having appropriate technical knowledge and looking after big name
headline acts.
• Sponsors and partners;
o Identifying new and original sponsors and festival partners for mutual advertising
and coordinating events (for example creating a sub-competition whereby our
bands can win slots at major festivals such as OsFest, IVYLIVE and more.)
• Live Fest;
o Festival arm of the company, all-day event at the O2 in London.
o Job includes; booking bands, logo design, website design, scheduling, concepts
and ideas, identifying and approaching sponsors.

• Worked closely with the acts as to get the best performance from them.
