The Inevitable Revival

"Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the

word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of
things which do appear." (Hebrews 11:3).

It is interesting to note that the Greek word translated

"worlds" in this verse is not "kosmos" which was
translated "world" many times in the New Testament.
• The word rather was the plural of "aion" which means age or
period of time.
• It is similar to the English word "eon".
• So the meaning of this Scripture is not that by faith we can
understand that this earth was framed by God's word, although
that is certainly true.
• This verse, however, is telling us that through faith we are to
understand that God's plan for the ages was complete from the
start.

God foreordained every era before the beginning of time.

• He foresaw the Creation, the period of the Law, the Church
Age, the Millenium, etc.
• He predestined Satan's doom, the Great White Throne, the new
heaven and new earth.
• "I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from
the beginning and from ancient times, the things that are not
yet done, saying “My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my
pleasure." (Isaiah 46:9b-10). "Known unto God are all his works
from the beginning of the world." (Acts 15:18).

"Things which are seen" in our world today are not the
result of mere chance.
• The condition of our world does not surprise God.
• Through faith we understand that God's plan for the ages was
complete from the beginning.
• It would never be necessary for Him to resort to Plan B nor to
make any revisions or amendments.

The nucleus of God's plan from the start was the

Incarnation, and most specifically, Calvary.
• Revelation 13:8 tells us that Christ was "the Lamb slain from
the foundation of the world."
• What happened on Golgotha's hill was not Plan B nor a new
improved idea.
• The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus were part of the
God's agenda before He spoke the universe into existence.
• It was a certainty even then!

God's plan from the start also called for a church – a

“Great Church”.
• Ephesians 5:27 says that the Lord is going to "present...to
himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any
such thing."
• God foreordained that his church would be an influential church
- the light of the world and the salt of the earth.
• He also decided from the start that his church would be
successful in reaching the world:
• "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the
world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end
come." (Matthew 24:14).

God's church was to be particularly effective in its early

and latter years, and especially in the latter years after an
in-between time of darkness.
• Joel wrote, "For he hath given you the former rain
moderately...And I will restore to you the years that the locust
hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the palmerworm, my great
army which I sent among you." (Joel 2:23b, 25).
How then, did God propose, from the foundation of the
world, to restore lost years?
• Perhaps in this way.
• The world did not attain to a population of one billion people
until the year 1830 AD.
• Then what had taken thousands of years to accomplish was
duplicated in a mere 100 years as the earth's population went
over two billion in 1930.
• Thirty years later, in 1960, it went over three billion;
• in 1975, it passed four billion;
• in 1987, five billion,
• and finally, in 1998, six billion!
• It is hard to imagine but the earth's population has doubled
since 1960 and tripled since 1930.

Did all of this take God by surprise?

Did God lack foresight?
• Was His timing off?
• Did His work peak too soon?
• Of course not.
• None of this surprised the Alpha and Omega, the First and the
Last, the Author and the Finisher of our faith.
• This population explosion appears to be how the Lord destined
to fulfill Joel 2:25.

If Jesus died to save sinners, which He did, then it only

makes sense that He foreordained that He would do His
greatest work in that era of time when there were more
sinners on earth than ever before.
• Daniel was told to "shut up the words, and seal the book even
to the time of the end." (Daniel 9:4a).
• Why?
• Because at that time "many shall run to and fro, and
knowledge shall be increased." (Daniel 9:4b).
• God who framed the ages from the beginning decided to open
up a knowledge of His word at the time of the end when MANY
people would populate the earth.
• “Many shall be purified, and made white..." (Daniel 12:10a).

Most of the people who will populate heaven are alive

right now.
• God has predestined a great revival for this era of time.
• Revival is inevitable!
• I want to be part of it.
