The International Anti-Corruption Academy
The lecturers include academics and experts
from a range of disciplines involved in corruption,
including law, economy, criminology, psychology,
sociology and politics.

In order to ensure a fair geographical balance
and a reasonable size of the event, the organizer
reserves the right to select the participants.
Funding Provider
Thanks to the support of the Siemens Integrity
Initiative, the tuition fees of all participants are
covered by the IACSA, and scholarships are
offered on a competitive basis for participants
from Least Developed Countries and Emerging
Markets.

independent centre of excellence in the field of
anti-corruption education, training, academic
research and networking and cooperation. Fifty

The Academy’s activities observe the principles

The International Anti-Corruption Summer
Academy (IACSA) is organized by the International
Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA). Under the
title “Practice Meets Science” it provides an
international, interdisciplinary, intersectoral
and holistic approach to the phenomenon of
corruption.
During the ten day course, participants will
develop an understanding of the legal, economic,
criminological, sociologic, psychological and
cultural issues of corruption in a globalized world.
The knowledge gained and the opportunity to
share professional experience amongst experts
from different fields and countries promotes
effective and efficient prevention and combating
of corruption.
WHEN?
Annually within the first two weeks of July. In 2011
IACSA will take place from 30 June to 9 July.

WHO IS THE SUMMER ACADEMY FOR?
Anti-corruption practitioners: senior investigators,
prosecutors, judges, non-governmental agency
personnel, and journalists engaged in the fight
against corruption. University students majoring
in fields that can relate to anti-corruption are also
welcome.
Teaching Methodology
Courses will be taught through lectures,
workshops and interactive discussions.
Participants will have the opportunity to benefit
from the international environment and will
be encouraged to share their professional
experience with other participants in a proactive
way.
Participants
Approximately 70 participants from all over
the world will be acquainted with some of the
most prominent thinkers and actors in the fight
against corruption. The IACSA Alumni Network
serves as a platform to develop these new
contacts after the course.

WHAT IS THE PROGRAMME ABOUT?

Curriculum

The primary goal of the IACSA is the

interdisciplinary transfer of knowledge between
science and practice. Through a comprehensive
and holistic approach, scientists, practitioners
and international experts from a variety of
disciplines will discuss the different aspects of the
phenomenon of corruption.

IACSA accordingly, follows the principle of Working Language

multidisciplinarity in order to emphasize the
traverse nature of corruption. In 2011, the course will be offered in English
only.
The study programme includes 56 lecture hours
and three evening discussions. Stress relief, Certificate
sports activities and different social events will be
included to complement the academic side of the All participants will receive a certificate of
programme. completion at the conclusion of the IACSA
course.
