Talend Integration Suite is the first Open Source data integration solution for the enterprise. It
supports the tough requirements of enterprise development, and scales to the highest levels
of data volumes and process complexity.
Talend Integration Suite is a subscription service that extends Talend Open Studio with profes-
sional grade technical support and additional features to facilitate the work of large teams
and enterprise-scale deployments.
This Technical Note provides a side-by-side feature comparison of Talend Integration Suite and
Talend Open Studio.

Talend Integration Suite introduces Change Data Capture to the product’s core functional-
ity. In Publish & Subscribe mode, this feature detects changed records in real time allow-
ing the changed data to be sent immediately to other applications and cuts the time
needed to load and update data during ETL or operational data integration.
By providing additional guidance and wizards, Talend Integration Suite's Advanced Studio
increases developer productivity.
a. Joblets
The actual Joblet code is automatically included when the code is generated at run-
time.
b. Connectivity Wizards
These wizards allow users to connect to a source or target which has a complex data
model or set of APIs (such as SAP) without knowing it well or understanding the tech-
nology involved.

The Web Services Explorer facilitates the discovery of Web Services graphically, via the
parsing and graphical presentation of the contents of the WSDL descriptor. It provides
access to the operations, parameters, and documentation on a given WSDL. Through
the Web Services Explorer developers can test, debug and catch SOAP Re-
quests/Responses.

d. Auto Documentation
With Auto Documentation, the project documentation is always up-to-date and is con-
solidated in the repository for all project stakeholders.
e. Data Preview
Used to discover data, and to test and debug processes, Data Preview lets developers
access and preview data from input and output components.

and Talend Integration Suite
Talend Integration Suite provides a set of command line options that allow developers
and administrators to easily perform batch edits. This may include updating job prop-
erties, promoting projects to production, exporting/importing jobs or sets of jobs, etc.
g. Metadata Import
Talend Integration Suite consolidates all project information and enterprise metadata in a
centralized repository shared by all integration process stakeholders; business users, job
developers, and IT operations staff can all access the same data. The shared repository al-
lows team members to store and share their business models, integration jobs, and meta-
data. This promotes reusability of objects and code, and facilitates the design of best
practices that can then be leveraged by all developers.
Talend Integration Suite incorporates powerful capabilities for managing all data integra-
tion deployments from the simplest to the most complex, from single jobs to thousands of
jobs, and with data volumes ranging from a few records to terabytes of data.

a. Job Conductor
Job Conductor coordinates and schedules event-based and time-based data integration
jobs, including load balancing.
b. Distant Run
Distant Run lets the developer execute a job remotely from the Job Designer interface.
This is useful for testing or executing jobs upon request on different systems.
c. Grid Conductor
Grid Conductor optimizes the use of the execution Grid by automatically distributing
jobs across the Grid. It includes dynamic load balancing and fail-over capabilities.
d. CPU Balancer
CPU Balancer lets data integration processes benefit automatically from advanced CPU
optimization, including multi-CPU and multi-core CPU servers. It balances jobs be-
tween all available processing resources and provides the highest degree of paralleliza-
tion.
