Before starting the Vaibhav Laxmi Vrat one must first bow their head to
Shree Yantra
SHRI VAIBHAVA LAKSHMI VRATA
VIDHI
On the day of observance of the vrat, ie; on a Friday morning, after taking
bath, clean the puja room and start the puja as follows:

Light the oil lamp. Place the 'Shri Yantra' (Photograph) in front of you in the
puja room.

Before starting the Vaibhava Lakshmi Vrata, one should have a look at the 'Shri
Yantra' with devotion and touch your hands devotedly to your eyes. Then one
should bow down one's head to the photograph of 'Shri Yantra' and the 'Eight
incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi' and touch with hands to one's eyes.

Place a plain red piece of cloth on Aasanam (seat or mat) in front of the yantra.
Spread a handful of rice on the piece of cloth. Now place a copper or brass
kalash (pot shaped vessel) filled with water on the spreaded rice. Keep a small
cup (Arghyam cup) with a silver or gold coin on the Kalash. One can also keep
a rupee coin if one has no silver or gold coin. Now apply sandalwood paste and
kumkum to the kalash and coin. Offer red flowers (preferably).

Another method: - Keep a copper or brass plate filled with rice in front of the
'Yantra'. Place the kalash filled with water on the plate of rice. Keep some
mango leaves and a coconut on top of the Kalash. The red piece of cloth can be
wrapped around the kalash. Apply sandalwood paste and kumkum to the
kalash and coconut.

This red blouse piece cloth can be used for all the Fridays. One should recite
the following shlokas :

Lakshmi Gayatri :
