Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose
Daily Business Intelligence for Marketing enables personnel at all levels of your organization to monitor the status of mark
continuous improvements.

Marketing provides you with two intelligence dashboards for measuring and improving marketing performance:

• Marketing Management Dashboard: This dashboard provides you with daily insight into key marketing performance area

DBI is dependent on the transactional data from the Marketing application and relies heavily on calendars, currencies,

When you log into Marketing DBI, either, `Marketing Manager` or `Daily Marketing Intelligenceâ responsibility is
Administratorâ responsibility is required.

The two types of users who can access Daily Business Intelligence for Marketing are the â adminâ user and the

Creating a Marketing Role

To create a marketing role:

1. Log into Oracle forms using CRM Administrator responsibility.

2. Navigate to Resource > Setup > Roles.

3. Provide values for the following fields:

â ¢ Code (For example: MARKETING_MANAGER)

â ¢ Name (For example: Marketing Manager)

4. From the Type drop-down list, select â Marketingâ .

5. Enable the Manager check box.

6. Save your work.

Security - Lead Management Dashboard

Security is based on â Managerâ and â Administratorâ access to Sales Groups defined in Ora
Management dashboard if they are members of a Sales Group. Users can be assigned roles in Sales Group
Sales Group and subordinate Sales Groups in pages and reports.

Example: Letâ s assume there are two resources - Joe and John, and both have access to Daily Marketing Intelligence
â MySalesGroupâ with a Marketing Role and John is not associated to any sales group. When Joe accesses the Le
â MySalesGroupâ is presented and the sales group LOV is available by default to â MySalesGroupâ
sales group LOV will be blank and data will not be shown in any of the reports. To allow John to view data in the
sales group.

Item Dimension

All items in Daily Business Intelligence for Marketing come from the item master in Oracle Inventory, from the Product C
item or product category hierarchy). Product categories classify products that are sold. Ensure that all product items that
Product Category set, or they appear in an Unassigned category in the reports.

B) Data Collection
For data to appear on the Marketing Intelligence reports there needs to be campaigns with schedules. The data
request sets from the Daily Business Intelligence Administrator responsibility: Initial Marketing Load Request S
the campaign data from the Marketing application to feed the DBI Marketing (BIM) tables and Materialized Views (MV).

Before loading any of the DBI fact tables through Marketing DBI request sets, you need to run the
‘Truncate Marketing DBI Base Summary Tables’ program, with the Business Intelligence Administrator responsibility. The
selecting "ALL” from the LOV or specific fact tables by choosing the specific table. Choose “Y” in the confirm parameter fo

• Incremental Load
The recommended refresh frequencies are:
• Initial Load: Once only or after setup change. Run the ‘Truncate Marketing DBI Base Summaries’ program with

• Initial Load: Dates
• From Global Start Date up to sysdate
• Incremental Load: None
• Data collected up to sysdate
Use the Incremental Request Set that you created using the Request Set Generator, to refresh data on the Le
dashboard. For information on Request Set Generator see “Post-Setup Steps”.

C) Profiles
Define Marketing Calendar Periods
Identify the Calendar associated with the profile AMS: Marketing Calendar and define Periods on this calendar for the Fisc
start date of the first time facts load, to the current Fiscal Year.
It is required that periods of type Month, Quarter, and Year are defined. For example, the Fiscal Year starts from 1st June
required to define the periods for the Marketing Calendar starting with the Fiscal Year containing the date 01-

1. Navigate to Profile > System.
2. Use Find to locate the profile AMS: Marketing Calendar
3. Note the calendar entered in this profile.
4. Switch responsibility to General Ledger Super User
5. Navigate to Setup > Financials > Calendars > Accounting.
6. Locate the Calendar noted above and verify the required periods are entered.

1. Log into Oracle Forms using System Administrator responsibility.


2. Navigate to Profile System Values.
3. In the profile field, enter ”BIM%”. All the applicable profiles are listed.
4. For BIM: Cost Per Lead, select Period-to-Date Cost or Total Cost from Inception, as
displayed in the KPI portlet for the following KPIs:
• Cost Per Lead: Displays either (Period-to-Date Costs/Period-to-Date Leads)
or (Total Costs/Total Leads).
• Revenue Per Lead: Displays either (Period-to-Date Revenue/Period-to-Date
Leads) or (Total Revenue /Total Leads).
• Campaign Cost: Displays either (Period-to-Date Costs) or (Total Costs).
5. BIM: Revenue Type, select Booked Amount, Invoiced Amount, or Won
Opportunities Amount. The selected Revenue Type is used to calculate revenue
in the reports.
6. For BIM: Program Cost, select Approved Budget or Actual Cost. The selecte
reports.
7. BIM: Month Period Type -- set it to period type corresponding to month
BIM: Quarter Period Type -- set it to period type corresponding to quarter
BIM: Year Period Type -- set it to period type corresponding to year

7. AMS Marketing Calendar -- Select the Marketing Calendar Set up in Financials > Calendars > Accounting

D) Set Up Global Parameters

Global parameters define the default values for dashboards such as global currency, enterprise calendar, and start
Administrator responsibility to set up global parameters.
You can change the values for these parameters after implementation is complete.
However, you must then run the initial or incremental load to resummarize or refresh your data.

Primary Currency
---------------------
Sets the first currency displayed in the Currency parameter of dashboards. This is also known as the global cu
Ledger. Transactions are converted into the primary currency using the primary rate type.

Sets the rate type used to convert transactions into the Primary Currency. You can choose any rate type that is defined in

a fiscal year to be defined with 50 to 54 weeks.

E) Concurrent Requests

Initial Marketing Load Request Set :


From the Daily Business Intelligence Administrator responsibility run this 'Initial Load' program. This automatically
Marketing DBI Base Summary Tables' program.

There are two types of request sets that are setup up in DBI Administrator:
• Initial Load
• Incremental Load

The recommended refresh frequencies are:


• Initial Load: Once only or after setup change. Run the 'Truncate Marketing DBI Base Summaries' concurrent
• Incremental Load: Once a day.

When you run the Initial Load, the ”From Date" defaults to BIS_GLOBAL_DATE. It processes data till the ”to date

This request set will load all the marketing facts from the refresh date. Execute this Request Set on a daily basis.

If any request set fails with ‘Error’then check the log file for details on the error.

If there is no data on the Marketing Intelligence reports then you need to check the data in the BIM tables. There may be c
