Nirmaan Organisation is a Non Govt and Non
Profit Organisation committed to work for poverty
free, knowledge powered and economically empowered
Nation by focusing on providing education and
livelihood opportunities for underprivileged people.

Nirmaan believes that education and a livelihood

opportunity are the basic necessities that any citizen
must get fulfilled so that poverty which is a recurring
problem doesn’t any more harass the society and
therefore Nirmaan works to provide such basic
necessities of the society. With this motive, we are
working on various projects, which concentrate on
basically the education and the employment areas.

ABOUT NSS
In India, the idea of involving students in the task of
national service dates back to the times of Mahatma
Gandhi, the father of the nation. The central theme
which he tried to impress upon his student audience
time and again, was that they should always keep
before them, their social responsibility.

The first duty of the students should be, not to treat

their period of study as one of the opportunities for
indulgence in intellectual luxury, but for preparing
themselves for final dedication in the service of those
who provided the sinews of the nation with the
national goods & services so essential to society.
Advising them to form a living contact with the
community in whose midst their institution is located,
he suggested that instead of undertaking academic
research about economic and social disability, the
students should do "something positive so that the life
of the villagers might be raised to a higher material
and moral level".

ABOUT APOGEE
Over the years the Birla Institute Of Technology
And Science, Pilani has built and maintained a
reputation of imparting the right mix of education,
experience and ethics that form the basis for
achieving success in the modern world. Apogee,
one of the largest technological symposiums of
the country has kept up this tradition of innovation
and breaking unprecedented frontiers. The 5 day
fiesta of Apogee to be held this year from 25th to
29th of March sees the confluence of thoughts
and ideas amongst more than 10,000 young minds
from not only India's but the world's top notch
universities.

NIRMAAN - APOGEE
Nirmaan is organising two events during APOGEE -
2011. One of them being ‘India Quiz’ and the
second one being ‘Dhiti’ (in collaboration with NSS).

INDIA QUIZ is a platform for testing your IQ (Indian

quotient). It takes place in BITS central auditorium and
has been a major crowd pulling event during last few
APOGEEs

DHITI -2011
DHITI is an attempt to use our knowledge and
innovation for the needy and poor. In this participants
will be provided with certain problem statements and
they will have to design effective, efficient and
economic modules to curb those problems.

Participants will be provided with certain broad areas

and a gist on each of them. Their solutions or models
should be targeted at solving the problems faced in
those areas.
The competition will be conducted in three
phases:

Phase I:
The participants have to go through the problem
statements in different specific areas. Participants can
either :
‘Work on a problem identified by them in any given
specific area or in any related area of their interest
and present a solution with full technical and
financial details’ (or)
‘Suggest a solution to any one of the problems given
under different specific areas with complete
technical and financial details’
Phase II: The selected participants are invited during
apogee for their idea/project presentation with full
fledged technical and financial details. The
participants will have to give a complete presentation
including the financial as well as technical details in
front of our Judge's panel.
Phase III: The winners and runner ups of this phase
will be given complete guidance by highly qualified
professors and industrial experts to help them come
up with a final model.
The emphasis of our event is not only the success of
the event in APOGEE, but to take the solution to its
final implementation stage also. The event itself will
draw 100's of participants from all over the country
and is one of the main events of APOGEE-2011, thus it
provides a good platform to market and publicize a
product.
