COUNSELING FOR POST GRADUATE DEGREE/DIPLOMA COURSES

IN ARMED FORCES MEDICAL COLLEGE, PUNE

Dear Doctor,

1. This is to inform you that you have been declared qualified in the written
examination for Post Graduate Degree/Diploma Course in Armed Forces Medical
College held at AFMC Pune in Jan 2011.

2. Your standing in the merit list and Priority for Admission is available on AFMC
web site.

3. First counseling session for allocation of subjects will be held on 11 Apr 2011
(Monday) at Dhanvantari Auditorium, AFMC Pune. The timings of the session are as
follows:-

(a) 1000h – 1100h for all Priority III and IV candidates.

(b) 1130h – 1700h for merit 01 to 200 Priority V candidates.

All candidates to report at the venue at 0830 hrs.

4. The next counseling session for those in merit from 201 onwards will be
conducted subsequently depending on the availability of seats. Fresh dates for the
same will be intimated accordingly.

5. The admission to available Post Graduate Degree / Diploma Course in AFMC,


Pune will be subject to showing of necessary documents. The list of documents
required to be brought by each candidate (in Original and TWO ATTESTED COPIES)
is as follows (Please refer to prospectus and AFMC website – afmc.nic.in)

(a) Admit card forwarded to you by the college.

(b) Mark sheet of first to final MBBS examination from medical


college/university.

(c) Internship Completion Certificate.

(d) Permanent/provisional State Medical Council Registration certificate.

(e) MBBS Degree Certificate / Passing certificate.

(f) Proof of Nationality certificate (citizen of India by birth or domicile) / Xerox


copy of valid passport / Domicile certificate / Birth certificate.

(g) Certificate of proof of age.

(h) Character certificate.

(j) Attempt Certificate (MBBS)

(k) Certificate from the college/university that the college/institute is


recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI) for MBBS.
(l) A certificate duly signed by the candidate that he is not pursuing any PG
Course.

(m) Transfer certificate / College leaving certificate.

(n) Gazette or marriage certificate for change in name (if applicable)

(o) Migration certificate.

(p) Self educational gap affidavit by student, certificate of Executive


Magistrate / Notary (if applicable).

(q) In case of Ex-AMC/SSC Officers :

(i) Release order from Armed Forces Medical Services by


DGAFMS/Medical Directorate concerned.

(ii) Copy of movement order issued on release from the unit last
served.

(r) In case of Para Military Officers (CRPF/BSF/ITBP) and sponsored


candidate of Centre/State Govt, Permission of DGAFMS to undertake study at
specific AFMS institution.

6. The candidates for counseling should appear personally with all the originals of
certificates as applicable for verification. Candidates without documents in original will
not be eligible for selection/counseling process. A candidate appearing for the
counseling shall have right to choose only among the available seats/subjects at his/her
merit position and the same will be allotted to him/her. Once a candidate has opted for
any subject, he/she will not be allowed to seek any change of subject.

7. Admission procedure shall be as follows :-

(a) Admission of PG courses at AFMC Pune is provisional and needs to be


confirmed/ratified by MUHS Nashik. The selected candidates are required to
submit additional documents/certificates as per specific requirement of the
institute/university.

(b) Decision of Commandant AFMC Pune regarding admission of candidates


shall be final and binding.

(c) All candidates are advised to preserve their Admit Cards till allotment of
the seats in the College.

(d) All candidates who accept the seat offered to them will have to undergo a
medical examination and should be declared medically fit by a medical board
constituted by the college. The criteria for fitness are the same as for
commissioned doctors in the Army Medical Corps.

8. All civilian candidates are required to execute a bond agreement as given in the
prospectus.

9. All candidates, irrespective of Priority category, once selected to be admitted to a


particular degree/diploma course will no be permitted to change over to another subject
or from a diploma to a degree course.
10. The college will retain the original documents until final registration of the
candidate at the MUHS Nashik.

11. Selected candidates will complete the formalities of admission including medical
Examination by 17 Apr 2011.

12. No allowance / administrative support for stay or travel will be provided by the
college. The candidates should make arrangements for a stay of approximately one
week at Pune for counseling and admission formalities. Selected candidates should
carry with them an approximate amount of Rs. 40,000/- towards admission fees.
