Cambridge High School

Cambridge school aspires to provide quality education. The Students are prepared for
examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Secondary Board of Education, English
Medium. Cambridge is the school run and managed by Cambridge Education Society,
Panchgani.
Cambridge provides a unique environment to impart value - based education with opportunities
for moral upbringing. School activities include Entertainment Programs, Educational, Tours,
Camps, Excursions and Inter School Competitions. Besides academic pursuits there are all kinds
of sports and games to draw out the best of every student. So swimming, Yoga, Karate and other

Panchgani is an evergreen hill station and well-known education center. Located 4300 feet
above sea level in the western Ghats, it is 200 km south of Mumbai and 100 km south of Pune. It
boasts of famous boarding schools set in the beautiful surrounding , with terraces of cultivated
fields, tiny hamlets nesting in the hills, a meandering river and a low dam on it, the winding path
in the mountains makes Panchgani a tourist delight. It has pleasant climate almost thourghout the
year. With no polluting industries, Panchgani is absolutely pollution free with all time fresh air
and pleasant atmosphere, tourist cars and from Panchgani, State transport buses and private
coaches move regularly between Pune to Panchgani/ Mumbai to Panchgani.

Aim

The aim of Cambridge High School is to provide a sound education in an ideal circumstance for
boys and girls of all communities from all over the world.

It endeavors to create and environment, which generates love for learning and stimulates
independent thinking and expression to develop his or her personality in an atmosphere of love
and unity. Individual attention is given to each child; attention is paid to develop a balanced,
spiritual, social and physical education. In this school, very sincere efforts are made to give the

Curriculum

The School prepares its student for examination conducted by the Secondary School Certificate
Examination Board, Division Kolhapur (S.S.C. Board). At present coaching staff - students ratio
is 1:12, while at the boarding school side the ratio 1:10 we assure you of personalized attention
and thus have set a precedent of excellent results at the board exams.
The Cambridge School promotes education from kindergarten to standard X . The medium of
instruction being English, the following subjects are taught-English, Hindi, Marathi, General
Science, General Mathematics, History, Civics, Economics, Geography, Community Living,
General Knowledge, Environmental Studies, Peace Education, Value Education, Arts and Crafts,
Social Service, Computer, Physical Training, Health Education, and Work Experience. The
syllabus followed is that of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary
Education, Pune. The other curricular activities at the school are Elocution, Singing, Dancing,
Debate, Quiz and Expeditions, Dramatic Musical Instruments, Traveling and Educational Tours,
External Exam with different Institution, Pocket Money Outing, Karate, NCC, School Magazine
etc. Opportunities for self - expression are offered by the school Debating Society and Dramatic
society, which organize debates, elocution, singing, quiz competition also dramatic
performances. The school tries to encourage students to become useful, responsible, self-reliant
and independent minded, a full and varied program of activities are provided.

Facilities

Library
The school has a well-equipped library for Std. V to Std. X And Std. I to IV have their own class
library.

Laboratory
The school has a well-equipped laboratory for Std. V to X.

Computer Lab
The school computer lab is equipped with a good number of computers with multimedia. There
is e-mail and internet facilities through which they can learn to work on it as well as they can
communicate with their parents occasionally.
The staff
The staff experienced, qualified and dedicated residential teachers, who show love and care for
the development of the children.
Meals/Food
Care is taken to see that children's meals are wholesome, nutritious and well balanced.
Vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals are served unlimited. Meals include breakfast, lunch, milk,
snacks and dinner. There is a constant variation in the food so as to create a good appetite in the
children.
Games/Staff and Other Activities
Evening games are compulsory for student of Std III and above. Western, Classical and
Instrumental Music, Lawn Tennis, Horse Riding and extensive playground is available for indoor
and outdoor games. The school also participates in the Inter School Competition in Various
Indoor and Outdoor games organized by the Panchgani School Sports Association and other.
Facilities

School Educational Tours

As educational tour is organized by the school for all student and is for a duration of three to
seven days. The tour is educational in nature and designed to broaden the student's horizon by
exposing them to various aspect of the Indian Cultural heritage. Tours are a very valuable
learning experience.

Medical
Panchgani is famous for its good climate and children usually keep good health. However the
school entrusted the total medical care of the students and all other back up services.
Valuables
The School does not permit any valuable and money under the custody of the boarders and hence
will not be responsible for the loss of any.
Special Class
Special English coaching class starts on 1st May 2006.

Admission

Admission is confirmed only after completing the prescribed application form with Original
Leaving Certificate along with the Mark Sheet of the last attended examination of class. Children
at the age of 3 and ½ and above will be accepted. The original birth certificate should be
submitted for Nursery, K.G. and Std.I. The leaving certificate of oversees student must be
counter signed by the Indian Embassy. Indian student coming from the different states other than
Maharashtra State should have their leaving certificate counter signed by the concerned
educational officer in their respective state.

All correspondence should be addressed to The Chairman / Principal, Cambridge High School,
Bhilar, Post Box-82, Panchgani-412805, Dis.-Satara, Maharashtra, India. Letters concerned with
the school should not be addressed personally to any staff .
Withdrawal

In case of withdrawal of a student at the end of a year the parents should notify their intention in
writing before the end of February. Three months notice is required for any withdrawal during
the year, falling which security deposit will be forfeited. Leaving Certificate will not be issued
unless all dues are cleared and all accounts of the schools are settled.
