this country got divided because people who
converted to an alien and exclusivist faith we
lost one third of the territory to Pakistan and
Bangladesh which have declared themselves
as Islamic states, meant for Moslems only.
A nation state is a concept which is not more
than a few hundred years old, whereas
nations especially Bharat are thousands of
years old. For eg: The Germanic people in
western Europe, the Latin people in Italy,
Anglians and Saxons in England, Mongols
Turks, Chinese and the Tibetans and so on
were all nations which had common legends
and beliefs and even languages. They had
separate kingdoms just as Bharat also had
several kingdoms. In distinction from the other
people, Bharatiyas had the concept of a
Chakravarthy, the Emperor who did not
extinguish the different kingdoms of the same
nation but who was acknowledged as the
protector of dharma, common beliefs and
faiths and cultures and in the event of aggres-
sion against anyone of the Kingdoms, he
had the responsibility to defend the distressed
kingdom. The kings paid tributes to the
Chakravarthy, the Emperor. Sovergnity
rested not in the person of the kings or
emperors but in dharma . Dharma itself was
expounded from time to time by the great,
learned Rishis, Saints and Savants through-
out the land. Dharma is in essence, the set of
values and codes of individual and social
conduct, that keep harmony in the family,
society, and country and conduces to evolu-
tion of men into higher levels of ethical con-
sciousness and conduct.
The nation state is one which brings all the
people constituting the nation under one state,
with one constitution with one set of laws and
judiciary. And with one system of governance.

Depending upon the vastness of the land and
the population, there could be several
subordinate units called provinces or states
under the central state. Nation -states as men-
tioned earlier are recent concepts and
constructs. For eg: England, Scotland, Wales
and northern Ireland were united in the year
1707 and the official name is the United King-
dom or UK. What is now the Federal Repub-
lic of Germany was comprising of more than
twenty separate Kingdoms duchies and
principalities. Otto von Bismarck brought all
these different Kingdoms under the rule of
the Kaiser Wilhelm -I of Prussia the
strongest of the Kings. Italy comprised of more
than a dozen kingdoms. They were all brought
together under one nation -state by the
common efforts of the Mazzini and
Garibaldi in 1861. Poland became a nation -
state only after the First World War. America
became a nation state only after its War of
Independence in 1776. Before they were
American colonies of the UK. They were 13
in 1776; it took antoehr 70 years for it to
become the 50-state nation. Australia &
Canada became nation -states only in the year
1900. In Africa, there were numerous tribal
kingdoms. When the Europeans conquered
Africa they did not have any regard to keep
people of the same tribe under the same rule.
African of about 450 mln people is divided
into over 40 sovereign nation-states with the
people in several states having no common
culture, language or history . That is why there
have been several murderous tribal wars within
each state.
India’s history has been totally different. Un-
der the concepts of Dharma and
Chakravarthy, we were one people, one
culture, one set of values, that is not violative
of social harmony (loka sngraha) freedom or

the people to settle anywhere and speak any
language and lead any type of life. The idea
of the oneness of the land and the strongest
of the kings working as the Chakravarthy
had been with us for ages. Yudhishtira of
Mahabharata times performed Rajasuya Yaga
to get himself acknowledged as Chakravarty,
emperor of Bharat. His four brothers went to
all the four directions of the land and got
Yudhishtira accepted as the Emperor. The
same powerful idea inspired Ashoka who got
his Emperorship acknowledged by all the
Kings in the land, sometimes voluntarily,
sometimes by bloody battles like those in
Kalinga. The same idea of oneness of the
whole of Bharat inspired the Mughals and
later Marathas and the British to establish their
over -lordship all over the country. As long
as there was a Monarch or an Emperor the
differences in religion did not come in the
way of the concept of the oneness of India.
However as ideas of elected representative
government and democracy came to be
accepted and implemented during the British
rule, intellectuals of a segment of our people
for namely Muslims whom there is no
difference between religion and government
thought that in a democracy the rule will be
by the majority. They believed that since
Hindus are a majority they would be the
rulers and Muslims would be the ruled. So
their leaders like Sir Sayyed Ahmed Khan
and several others latter were propagating that
democracy was not suitable to India, as in a
democratic set up Muslims could not hope to
rule India as once they did by force of arms
during the Mughal period and earlier in some
parts of India under the Delhi Sultanate.
Muslims including Sir Md-Iqbal ( of Saare
jahan se acha Hindustan hamara) said they
are not part of the Indian nation. The most

powerful assertion was in the following words
of Md.Ali Jinnah who led the Muslim League
to pass the resolution at 1940 Lahore season
for the partition of India and creation of the
Islamic state of Pakistan.
The nation state that was being forged under
the British rule and the movement led by the
Indian (not Indira or Italian) Congress for
independence got a grievous injury by the
forced partition of the country. The Congress
party, especially Mahatma Gandhi who were
resolutely were against the two-nation theory
and partition of the country were frightened by
the violence unleashed by Muslims in India
under the leadership of the Muslim League
with the slogan ‘Direct Action’ (agaisnt
people, i.e Hindus who opposed partition)
on 16 Aug 1946. The country was engulfed in
communal riots. The Muslim League
demanded that minorities between the two
states, India & Pakistan should be completely
exchanged. While Pakistan & Bangladesh
implemented this idea by expelling more or
less all the non- Muslims, the Indian National
Congress under the mistaken notion that it was
representing Muslims also even though 98.6%
of the separate Muslim electorate rejected
the Congress, did not allow the Muslim
minority population of India to emigrate to
Pakistan, their creation. It is this unfortunate
decision of the Congress and the government
led by it soon after independence that is now
imperiling the nationhood of India.
All the leaders of the freedom movement were
committed to build a strong united India into
a nation state. A nation state can be sustained
only with the idea of a strong feeling and
emotion of nation -hood is continuously
fostered and every step taken to promote unity
of thought and action in regard to the affairs of

the State and government. Unfortunately, this
is what is not happening in the country.
Before independence, Muslims had a
separate electorate and MLAs and MPs were
elected by Muslims only. Thinking that the
separate electorates was the reason for the
division of India and to forge a common
nationhood, our Constitution makers
abolished the separate electorate. We have
now a common electorate. INC was the only
all- India political party. Although it had some
local opposition parties they could not
challenge dislodge Congress governments, for
long. However as the realities of disparity in
prosperity and development started telling
political ideas of people and politicians the
Congress Party was getting gradually weak-
ened and lost its dominance and therefore it
began to make appeals to communities and
castes and regions to win majorities in the
elections regional and castiest. Political
parties came up in the regions to challenge
the Congress. And the Congress party in
order to preserve its power started appealing
to Muslims for their votes. The regional and
other parties are competitively wooing Mus-
lims for block votes. Communists of various
hues (there are 8 communist parties in India)
are ever bent on supporting every divisive
movement in the country and every
disaffection with the ultimate aim of captur-
ing power and establishing a dictatorship of
the communist party (as in the former USSR
and its satellite states in eastern and central
Europe, China, North Korea, Cuba and
Vietnam).
As before independence, when some demands
of the Muslims are conceded, they come up
with some more demands. They are always
saying that they are being discriminated and
deprived. Political parties are competing to

accept to their demands with the result that
the pre- independence separate nationhood
mentality is once again on the rise but in the
garb of secularism. The word, minority has
become a cover word for Muslims.
Recognizing their separateness apart from the
Indian nation are minority commissions,
minority educational institutions, minority
State Finance Corporations, Haj subsidy,
Urdu Ghars , Shadi Khanas, Urdu
Universities. Government is funding Arabic
and Islam -teaching Madrasas. It is amending
laws, for the Muslims demands to prevail over
India’s secular laws ( eg: the Sha Bano case
and now, restoration of the properties of
Muslims who left for Pakistan to their
descendents’), carving out Muslim majority
areas into separate districts ( eg: Mallappuram
in Kerala, Mewat in Haryana..), granting citi-
zenship illegally infiltrating Bangladesh
Muslim (about 30 mln and so on. The leftist
intellectuals, the ‘secular’ vote - hunters
communists and their fellow travelers and
ignorant, innocent, Hindus in a sort of
profundity speak about different languages,
different cultures, different religions,
different beliefs, different histories among the
people of India. It is this constant theme of
differences in the print & electronic media
and this discourse in seminars that is, under-
mining our nationhood by emphasizing the
differences and not the unifying forces like
our common heroes, our century’s long
resistance to foreign aggressions, the united
movement for independence, the values and
culture expositioned in passed by our great
literature the Vedas, Ithihasas, Puranas and
Kavyas. Until recently, it was only the
Muslim minority which was imperiling our
nation-hood. Now the multi- national conver-
sion (MNCs)enterprises of evangelists,
missionaries and their sapper and miner

N.G.Os like World Vision, with billions of
dollars coming to them in myriad ways are con-
verting a large number of our poor and igno-
rant people by fraud and by false propaganda
like no castes in Christianity and so on. Now
the Christian minority is being instructed to
herd together into a separate sub-nationality.
All the separate ‘nationality’ groups are in
alliance to promote the disintegration of the
Hindu society by inciting various castes to
assert their separate identity in opposition to
the rest. While the religious minorities are
undermining our nationhood by emphasizing
their separateness on the basis of religion,
they are at the same time destroying the Hindu
consciousness of Hindus that has been the
guarantor of the unity and integrity of India.
They are promoting the permanency of castes
despite their tendency to vanish because of
education & development which give free-
dom of choice of profession and residence.
Both of which will progressively wear away
caste.
It is therefore necessary for all the well
wishers and patriots of India to condemn
the incessant discourse of differences. We
should instead promote discourse on
unifying factors of Dharma, culture, tradition,
places of pilgrimage, festivals, literature,
temples etc. Other measures we should take
are: declaring inter-state rivers as a national
resource and development of them by the
Union Government; creation of National
Power Grid, Central Universities, Chairs for
History, Culture & Literature in as many
colleges as possible ; and making Sanskrut a
compulsory subject upto SSLC at least for
every stream of education. All the ‘minority’ -
specific institutions except those that teach
religion and related history and language must
be abolished. Ina democracy only political

minorities which are never permanent, have
a meaning. Minoritism on the basis of
exclusive religions is deplorable and should
be ended in our secular state.
The history and record of religious minority
claiming separate nation-hood and reserva-
tions and privileges has been horrendous for
India and Hindus. It leads to further fragmen-
tation of the country. We must end the con-
cept and practice of religion-based minority
separatism.
Seminaries perpetuating
obscurantism

The recent spate of misogynist fatwas from
the Darul Uloom Deoband proves that some
Muslim seminaries are still stuck in the
medieval era and have no plans to reform
themselves despite the victimising role they
play in the lives of the Muslims almost on a
daily basis.While one of the fatwas legitimised
triple talaq expressed in jest during an internet
chat, the other validated its pronouncement
over the cellular phone even when the wife
was unable to hear it due to connectivity
problems. The theological justification given
by the Deoband muftis was that a marriage
stands dissolved once the word ‘talaq’ is ut-
tered thrice by the husband irrespective of his
state of mind at the time of saying the word.
This is not surprising because Hanafi
ideology, the raison d’tre of Deoband, legalises
divorce under threat, fraud, influence of drink
and even out of ignorance. It may be recalled
that last year Deoband issued a fatwa validat-
ing triple talaq given by a drunken man, and it
was fully backed by the All India Muslim
Personal Law Board. The only form of triple

talaq that Hanafi law does not recognise is the
one pronounced during sleep!
Unfortunately, even the secular courts have not
been able to go against the incorrigible
medievalism of Muslim religious bodies. For
instance, the Privy Council and the Calcutta
High Court have held that divorce given in one
sitting is effective even if issued under
compulsion from threats. (See Rashid Ahmed
Vs Anisa Khatun, I.L.R. 54 AII, 46 (PC), and
Jarina Akhtar Khatun Vs. Hafeezuddin Khan,
A.I.R. 1926 Cal. 242; 30 C.W.N. 178).
The Deoband fatwas on talaq are the very
antithesis of the Quran and the teachings of
the Prophet. For how can a marital relation-
ship be broken unilaterally and irrevocably by
one party when it has been described by the
Quran as meesaaqan ghaleeza, a solemn
agreement between two equal parties? By
giving this absolute right to men the Hanafi
patriarchs have legitimised a pre-Islamic
practice which was abhorred and sought to be
reformed by the Prophet. And it is for this
reason that many Muslim countries have
reformed their divorce laws.
For example, the Muslim Family Laws
Ordinance, 1961, of Pakistan stipulates that
all marital disputes must go through an
‘Arbitration Council’ consisting of a chairman
and a representative of each of the parties, and
any man who wishes to divorce his wife must
give the chairman a notice in writing and the
talaq shall not be effective until the expiry of
ninety days from the day of the delivery of the
notice.
This is in keeping with the injunctions of the
Quran in 4: 34-35, according to which the first
talaq cannot be pronounced unless the parties
have exhausted four option; a) resolving the
conflict through discussions (fa’izuhunna), b)
temporary separation (wahjuruhunna), c) more
discussions (wazribuhunna) and d) arbitration

by appointing two arbiters (hakam), one from
each side. The Quran does not specify a time-
frame for these four pre-talaq requirements.
Maximum time is give to amicably resolve the
marital dispute. The waiting period of iddah
comes into play only after the first talaq is pro-
nounced, and not more than two divorces can
be pronounced within this period, the dura-
tion of which is three monthly courses (2:228-
229). For women who have passed the age of
menstruation or suffer from amenorrhoea the
period of iddah is three months, and in the case
of pregnant women it is till the termination of
pregnancy (65:4).
And if the parties are unable to unite during
the period of iddah as envisaged by verse
2:228, the final irrevocable talaq can be
pronounced, but only after the expiry of the
iddah (2:231). Once the final talaq has been
invoked the marital bond is severed and the
parties cease to be of any relation to each other.
However, even after the period of iddah has
lapsed, the Quran offers the contending
parties a chance to reunite, provided the final
talaq has not been pronounced (2:232). After
the expiry of iddah, as per verses 2:231 and
232, the parties are given the option of remar-
riage or permanent separation Ñ the separa-
tion being the third and the final irrevocable
talaq to be pronounced in the presence of two
witnesses (65:2).
This being the Quranic procedure of divorce
one fails to understand on what grounds the
Hanafi jurists consider their interpretation of
the talaq law as Islamically correct. If truth be
spoken, very little of the present day Hanafi
law is based on the interpretations of Imam
Abu Hanifa (699-767), the founder of the
Hanafi school. Most of what is being imple-
mented today in the Imam’s name emanated
from his students Muhammad and Abu Yusuf,
and other jurists who came much later such as

Ibn Abideen (1198-1252) and Al-Marghinani
(1152-1197), the authors of Hanafi treatises
Radd al-Muhtaar ala Durr al-Mukhtar and Al
Hidaaya respectively. Hence, the phrase
ÒHanafi law’ is a misnomer as the great Imam
would certainly have not approved of the
unIslamic rulings that are being churned out
today.
Imam Abu Hanifa belonged to the Ahl al-Raai
school of thought who based his judgments
on independent reasoning and logic, principles
recognised and encouraged by the Quran and
the Prophet. And any attempt to attribute to
Imam Abu Hanifa outdated interpretations of
Islam would amount to falsification of the
Imam’s teachings. Deoband’s Hanafism is
unjust and unIslamic.
Fundamental Quest in Islam -
Is it Possible?
Sri Ashgar Ali Engineer is an erudite Islamic
scholar and exponent. In the article, ‘What it
means to be Religious’ in the Bhavan’s
Journal Nov 30, 2010, he said that ‘constant
quest for truth is one of the five fundamental
qualities for being truly religious’. Elsewhere
in the same article he also stated that ‘Quran
creates intellectual ferment and dynamism
rather than stagnation and dogmas’. How can
these two statements of his be consistent with
what the Prophet Mohammed has said
namely, that he is a lost Prophet and that no
one can come after him and that the entire truth
and knowledge has been revealed in the
Quran. What then remains to be inquired or
searched for as truth? Further, if Quran
creates intellectual ferment , how can the
stream of fatwas for eg: like a talaq sent on
the Internet whether received or not is valid;
that a father-in-law who has raped the
daughter -in-law has to marry her after divorc-
ing the husband, that the charge of adultery

can be proved only if there are four eye
witnesses and that a true believer can have
four wives at a time come from the most
Islamic intellectual institution Dar-ul-uloom.
Can any of these be evidence of intellectual
ferment and constant quest for truth?
People like Smt. Taslima Nasrin and Salman
Rashdie who raised mild questions about
Islam’s treatment of minorities and the
Prophet’s respectively were fatwad to be
killed. There are blasphemy laws in the
Islamic Republic of Pakistan. In another
Islamic state Saudi Arabia Christians &
Hindus and other non-Muslims cannot profess
or practice their religion publicly. As these are
held to be false by Islam. How then can there
be continuous quest for truth in Islamic
countries. Even in a non-Islamic state like
India because of their significant numbers
Muslims will not allow any inquiry into
Islam’s claims of truth or nfallibility or
social practices in the name of Islam.
‘Nationalist’ Muslims
The true nature of ‘nationalist’ Muslims in
the Congress could be understood from what
they wanted to be incorporated in the
Constitution of independent, secular, Indian
Republic.
“The Nationalist Muslims who acted under the
guidance of Maulana Azad urged reservation
with weightage ( 33 % of the seats in the
Central Legislative Assembly- present day
Lok Sabha- were reserved for 25% of the
Muslim population of undivided India; in the
Muslim minority Provinces they were given
50% weightage). At a later state, two leading
nationalist Muslims, Abdul Qaiyum Ansari
and Maulana Afizur Rahman wanted a
provision inserted in the Constitution to the
effect that Muslim Qazis should be
appointed to administer Shariat Laws and

a Muslim Minister placed in charge of
Waqfs. This was going back on the equality
before law established in the country for over
a century and a half”.

Since Sardar Patel was still alive and since,
there was enough patriotism and nationalism
were left in Congress men, the demand of
‘nationalist’ Muslims was not accepted.
Abul Kalam Azad did not hide the reason for
his opposition to partition. He said that in
Hindustan ( after Pakistan is created )
Muslims would be a smaller minority than in
undivided India and therefore they would not
be able to influence and have their way. It is
more of concern for Muslims’ power than
nationalism that informed Abul Kalam Azad
and other ‘nationalist Muslims in Congress.
No wonder that the great and indomitable
Sardar Patel said that he knew of only one
nationalist Muslim - Jawaharlal Nehru.
What the constitution did not give to Mus-
lims is gifted to them by vote-prospecting and
appeasement - addicted Congress by way of
Minority Commissions, Minority educational
institutions, minority State Finance Corpora-
tions, Minority Ministry, Haj subsidy, grants
to Madrassas and mosque building and Mus-
lim First programs.
Women’s position in Islam

highest honor and independence to women.
But the above fatwa shows what regard Islam
has for Muslim women

but in respect of adultery the Muslim law re-
quires that there should be 2 witnesses for the

Talaq uttered thrice by a man on
a mobile phone will be
considered valid even if his wife
is unable to hear it all the three
times due to network and other
problems, a fresh fatwa has ruled.
The fatwa was given by Darul-
Ifta, the fatwa department of lead-
ing Sunni Islamic seminary
Dar-ul-Uloom Deoband, in reply
to a query by a man.
The man in his query had asked
that in case no witness was
present when he utters talaq
thrice to his wife over phone
whether it would be considered
valid or not.
‘I angrily said talaq three times
to my wife on cellphone but she
claimed that she didn’t hear it
even once and nobody was
around both of us. Please tell me
whether talaq has taken place’,
he asked.
In its reply, Dar-ul-Ifta said, “If
you have given three talaqs to
your wife, all the three took place
and she became haram (forbid-
den) for you”.
The fatwa said the woman will be
free to marry anywhere she likes
after her iddat (three month pe-
riod after divorce) is over. ‘It is
not necessary for talaq to take
place that the wife hears it or the
witnesses are present’, it ruled.
In October, the seminary had
ruled that saying talaq three times
even on a humourous note is valid

What is taught in Madrasas

Madrasas teach the Holy Quran in Arabic and
Islamic law etc. There is little modern
learning. Annotating the Quran and the
Hadiths, the Islamist teachers instill among
the children hatred for other religions holding
them as false, extol jihad (that is religious war)
to overwhelm the Kafirs (that is non-Mus-
lims) and that their duty is to convert the
Kafirs or eliminated them.
Britain is in uproar after an in-
vestigation revealed that children
studying in weekend classes at
Islamic schools are being taught
anti-Semitism, homophobia and
the correct way to mutilate
sinners.
An investigation of study mate-
rial by BBC’s Panorama found
that more than 40 Saudi students’
schools and clubs were teaching
these lessons to about 5,000
students in the UK.
The books claim that some Jews
were transformed into pigs and
apes, the penalty for sodomy is
execution and teach the correct
ways to chop off the hands and
feet of thieves, according to
Panorama.
For thieves their hands will be
cut off for a first offence, and
their foot for a subsequent of-
fence’, according to a lesson in
the book. The lesson was accom-
panied by diagrams showing the

children where the cuts must be
made.
Britain’s education secretary, Mr
Michael Gove, said that the
sentiments of anti-Semitism and
homophobia are ‘inappropriate’

ment that I think has absolutely
no place in English education or
in public life. I think we recognise
that any expression of homopho-
bia and prejudice , is totally
inappropriate when it comes to

The Saudi embassy in the UK,
however, refuted the allegations
made in the programme and
claimed that such materials were
often taken out of context ( this is
a standard refutation whether by
Saudi Arabia or by the Madrasas
in India) and often referred to
historical descriptions.
It is tragic that That a governments led by secu-
larists in India are giving grants to Madrasas.
That amounts to helping Madrasas instill of
communalism and intolerance into the young
Muslims.
2. Muslim leaders routinely deny this. In the
US, the government got all the Arabic texts
used in Islamic schools re-written to expunge
denigration of other religions, extolling of
jihad, anti-Semitism, homo-phobia etc. In In-
dia, especially in cities like Hyderabad Fri-
days are unusual. After the prayers there are
speeches which inflame Muslims and exac-
erbate their intolerance and mislead them by
haranguing that the world is conspiring against
Islam. It is this inflammation/incitement that
is responsible for the law and order problems

around the most frequented mosques. We
have been proposing that there should be
mixed teams of learned persons drawn from
all major religions who will monitor what is
being taught and talked in Madrasas, Mosques;
Temples & Pathasalas, Churches and Semi-
naries with a view that intolerance, disrespect,
denigration, incitement, grievance- invention
etc., not promoted in them.
Freedom without strength
Freedom without the strength to support it
and, if need be, defend it, would be a cruel
delusion. And the strength to defend
freedom can itself only come from wide-
spread industrialization and the infusion
of modern science and technology into the
country’s economic life.

Rosaiah resignation
Now is a good and great chance for putting an
end to controversies and movements and
disturbances in Andhra Pradesh. Sri K.
Chandrasekhara Rao should be made the
Chief Minister and his party should merge
with the Congress. Sri Jaganmohan Reddy
maybe made one Deputy Chief Minister.
The second Dy.CM could be Sri Bala Raju
the ST leader from the north-east Andhra
Pradesh which is even less developed than
Telangana. Then all the 3 backward areas
Telangana, Rayalaseema and north -east
Andhra Pradesh could be immediately and
fully developed. It maybe recall that in order
to prevent the partition of India Mahatma
Gandhi proposed that the British may hand
over the government to Mohammad Ali Jinnah
and quit India. If the government of Andhra
Pradesh is handed over to KCR then the
integrated Andhra Pradesh could continue to
exist.

Why this cacophony
Ms. Arundhati Roy has been making seditious
speeches and is calling the Maoist Guerilla
army’s soldiers a patriotic lot. Separatists in
Kashmir are talking about secession. There
are no demonstrations or denunciations in
regard to these. Why then for merely
criticizing the UPA-II government and Sonia
Gandhi, Sri Jaganmohan Reddy and his paper
and TV channel should be demonstrated
against all over the state and some of his prop-
erties damaged? We are an open society and
it is the democratic right of every citizen to
express his views provided they don’t preach
violence, communal hatred or overthrow of the
government. We are not living in a National
Emergency as in 1975-77 when the Chief
Justice of the Supreme Court held that with-
out giving any reason a man’s life can be
forfeited by government. Many don’t agree
with Sri Jagan’s programs or politics or his
quarrels with his party but freedom -loving In-
dians should not be complicit in the virulent
attacks on Sri Jagan’s criticisms of others.
People will be sensible to judge whether he is
right or wrong.
Reprehensible Disrespect
The TTD have by law a mandate to promote
protect and propagate Sanatan dharma (also
known as Hinduism). The various
Peetadhipatis and Matadhipatis are the
natural allies of the TTD in this regard. They,
like millions of Hindus and the TTD are
concerned about the assault on Hinduism by
predatory faiths of foreign origin with ample
funding from several questionable sources.
The TTD wisely decided to have a
consultation with the Dharmacharyas. The
meeting was twice postponed and a third time
recently postponed indefinitely. It is under-
stood that this is on instructions from No.10

Janpath whose faith and even mission appear
to be opposed to Sanatan dharma, Hinduism.
It is grievous that the TTD has to succumb to
pressure from such hostile sources and show
so much disrespect and unconcern to the no-
blest in the Sanatan dharma.
This has happened only because temples, the
places of worship of Hindus are managed and
administered by a government which is ap-
parently under the influence and direction of
anti-Hindu elements under the name of secu-
larism. Hinduism and their places of worship
where defences for the Hindu faith are built,
can be safe and serve the interests of Bharat
only if like the Churches & Mosques are not
administered and managed by government.
Management of temples and not Churches &
Mosques by a secular government is obvious
discrimination against Hindus. The remedy
is to get the government off the temples. Like
churches and mosques temples must be
managed only by Hindu bodies and not by a
godless secular government which is
apparently under the control of Hindus -
hostile elements.
Is India losing Independence
(Sri MacLithon is a French Journalist
resident in India for long. He wrote a very
perceptive article, the Empress India in the
Indian Express. The following is in supple-
ment to Sri MacLithon’s, article)
I have read your piece, ‘Empress of India’ in
the opinion column of the New Indian
Express, Hyderabad edition, on Friday, Nov
12, 2010. It is excellent. In the background of
the mass of spineless Indian journalists in
the country, it is great that you of France could
write fearlessly .

Sonia could not have become the Empress
but for a large number of stooges, Hindus in
the Congress. It would be of interest to you to
know what Dr. B.R. Ambedkar the greatest
Indian intellectual and patriot has written
about Gandhi and Congress. Here it is:
Dr B.R. Ambedkar wrote to
Sharada alias Laxmi Kabir who
later became his wife, following
Gandhiji’s assassination. In that
letter, dated 8 February 1948, Dr
B R Ambedkar said that Gandhiji
should have not met his death at
the hand of a Maharashtrian.
Then he went on:
Mr. Gandhi had become a posi-
tive danger to his country. He
had chocked all the thoughts. He
was holding together the Con-
gress which is a combination of
all the bad and self-seeking ele-
ments in society who agreed on
no social or moral principle gov-
erning the life of society except
the one of praising the flattering
Mr Gandhi. Such a body is unfit
to govern the country.
And the Bible says that something
good come out of evil, so also I
think that good will come out of
the death of Mr. Gandhi. He will
release people from bondage to
superman, It will make them think
for themselves and it will com-
pel them to stand to their own
merits.
And to that, he added: ‘My real
enemy has gone, thank goodness,
the eclipse is over’

In the past, the Rajput rulers like Mirza Raja
Jaisingh, Man SIngh and Jaswant Singh and
so many others shamelessly offered their
daughters and sisters to the Mughal rulers and
became their generals. Indeed Mirza Raja
Jaisingh marched against the great Sivaji him-
self. This Raja used to get up at 3 am and offer
puja to Lord Siva for one and half hours every
day and then used to march at the head of
Muslim armies in order to suppress the
Marathas who were waging a war of national
resistance to Aurangzeb. These Rajputs were
only repeating what Jaichand, to spite
Prithviraj did to India, namely, invite
Mohammed of Ghori to invade India. Even
at the battle Plassey in 1757 the native armies
were betrayed by one general who sold
himself to the British, Lord Clive. Today, the
political leadership in the country is of the
same caliber as those stooges and traitors
who in their limitless spite against one
another, facilitated the conquest and
subjugation of this country. Dr. B.R.
Ambedkar foresaw this happening and warned
the politicians thus in his speech to the
concluding session of the Constituent
Assembly.
Here I could have ended. But my
mind is so full of the future of our
country that I feel I ought to take
this occasion to give expression
to some of my reflections thereon.
On 26th January 1950, India will
be an Independent country.
(Cheers) What would happen to
her Independence? Will she
maintain her Independence or
will she lose it again? This is the
first thought that comes to my
mind. It is not that India was

never an Independent country.
The point is that she once lost
the Independence she had. Will
she lose it a second time> it is
this thought which makes me
most anxious for the future. What
perturbs me greatly is the fact
that not only India has once
before lost her Independence, but
she lost it by the infidelity and
treachery of some of her own pr.
In the invasion of SInd by
Mahommed-Bin-Kasim, the
military commanders of King
Dahar accepted bribdes from the
agents of Mohammed-Bin-Kasim
and refused to fight on the side
of their King. It was Jaichand
who invited Mahommed Ghori to
invade India and fight against
Prithvi Raj and promised him the
help of himself and the Solanki
Kings. When Shivaji was fighting
for the liberation of Hindus, the
other Maratha noblemen and the
Rajput Kings were fighting the
battle on the side of Mogul Em-
perors. When the British were
trying to destroy the Sikh Rulers,
Gulab Singh, their principal
commander, sat silent and did not
help to save the Sikh Kingdom.
In 1857, when a large part of
India had declared a war of In-
dependence against the British,
the Sikhs stood and watched the
event as silent spectators.
Will history repeat itself? It is this
thought which fills me with
anxiety. This anxiety is deepened
by the realization of the fact that
in addition to our old enemies in

 the form of castes and creeds we
are going to have many political
parties with diverse and
opposing political creeds. Will
Indians place creed above
country? I do not know. But this
much is certain that if the par-
ties place creed above country,
our Independence will be put in
jeopardy a second time and prob-
ably be lost forever...

Myth and Reality
It is indeed a great pleasure to know you and
Francois Gautier both of French origin who
are more Indian than most others.
Congress (I) is not 125 years old
- It is 41 years old
Congress -men led by Smt. Sonia Gandhi are
claiming that theirs is a 125 years old party.
They also claim that it is the oldest party in
the world . Both these claims are utterly false.
Just to give two or three instances: the
Democratic and Republican Parties in the US
are more than 150 years old. So are the
Labor and Conservative Parties in the United
Kingdom. These two parties are the Whigs
and Tories and Liberals.
The Indian National Congress founded in
1885 and nurtured by great patriots like
Firozeshah Mehta, Balgangadhar Tilak, Lala
Lajpat Rai, Bipin Chandra Pal, Mahatma
Gandhi, Sardar Vallabha Patel, Jawaharlal
Nehru and Subhash Chandra Bose came to
an end in 1969 when Indira Gandhi split that
party and launched her faction naming it after
herself; as Congress (I), I -standing for Indira.
Beginning with that split , the Congress - (I)
itself split several times from which emerged

Congress (B), Brahmananda Reddy’s fraction;
Congress (J) - standing for Jagjeevan Ram’s
fraction; CFD Congress for Democracy -
Bahuguna’s fraction and recently National
Congress Party (NCP) of Sarad Pawar and in
Kerala, the Kerala Congress. It is unjust and
fraudulent to claim that the Indira Congress
alone is the legatee of the Congress which
was founded in 1885.
Since 1969, the Congress (I) now presided
over by Sonia Gandhi has become a propri-
etary party belonging to the Nehru -India-Rajiv
Dynasty. Members of the Dynasty are
succeeding one another. There are two other
countries where the highest and the most
powerful post is inherited by succession in
the family. One is Syria where one Assad is
succeeded by his son, another Assad . Then
there is North Korea under Communist
dictatorship Kim Il Sung II has succeeded his
father, Kim Il Sung . Now the present
dictator’s son is designated to succeed his
father; that is, the rulership descends on the
grand son. In our country the same thing is
happening in the Nehru-Indira Gandhi(not the
Mahatma) Dynasty. This has become such a
bad example that in the states also Dynastic
succession is being claimed and happening .
When questioned the satraps in the states are
saying. If the Prime Ministership can go by
inheritance why not the Chief Minister ship?
When Gandhiji was assassinated Dr.
Ambedkar visited his corpse in Birla Bhavan
twice on the 30th Jan 1948 and then he wrote
to his would be wife Sarada the following:

Not only during the life of Mahatma Gandhi
were the Congress men is vassals and
unquestioning devotees, even thereafter they
are the devotees of Mahatma whom they
worship, for the last few decades it is Nehru
and his descendants that have become the pro-
prietors of the Congress Party and the Con-
gress men are continuing the same bhajan sup-
pressing their judgments to ruling members of
the Dynasty. It is Sonia who selects the
Chief Minister or removes them, it is Sonia
who appoints Congress Working Committee
and Presidents of the Pradesh Congers com-
mittees whether it is bifurcation of Andhra
Pradesh or dealing with the Maoists or
introducing any welfare schemes it is she who
will decide only motions of conclaves and
consultations are gone through. When there
is no internal democracy and transparency in
the most ancient part of this country how can
any other party or leader have any true
commitment to and conviction in true
democracy. What a pity that the country of 110
people is not able to produce leaders from
this native soil who will decide matters but
not leaving things to the decision of one
individual inducted into the dynasty’s family.
Hyderabad University
A group of persons held a ‘public hearing’ to
express opposition to the Hyderabad
University allocating sites for a number of
educational institutes. They appear to be
ideologically motivated. The persons behind
this move excepting perhaps the former Chief
Justice of the Allahabad High Court, are all
professional Marxist intellectuals operating
under various guises like environmental
protection, human rights, scientific education,
civil society and so on. One or two scientists
among them belong to the class of T.D
Lysenko who flourished when Stalin was

ruling the Soviet Union by subordinating
science to Marxist faith. Of course, he was
exposed and made non-person after the death
of Stalin. These self-styled Òintellectuals’
organise alternate for a, like Alternate Nobel
Prize, World Social Forum, People’s Tribunal
(on Kashmir, Human Rights, Hyderabad
University) and produce reports which will
be quoted by about 80 fellow -travelling orga-
nizations among students women, youth,
minorities, backwards and so on.
Great Universities like the Caltech, MIT and
Stanford are seed beds to startups and research
enterprises which later on produce billions of
dollars worth scientific & technological
products. A University cannot merely be a
teaching and examining body. It should
create knowledge by promoting R&D and
therefore should be home to a number of
researching and inquiring institutes.
Excepting the allotments for R.R District Head
Quarters and MRO Office every other
organisation allotted a site has synergy with
University. Sports and transport for the
students are as essential as classrooms.
The University and governments should be
firm in ignoring these professional agitators
and opponents of everything that government
or other truly nation-building organizations do.
True to his Religion
It is not very significant that Barak Hussian
Obama, the President of the USA chose to see
the tomb of the Mughal ruler Humayun and
made a visit to Taj Mahal, the monument built
by Shajahan another Mughal ruler to his wife
and chose no other great place of significance
to India. For eg. The Birla Mandir in Delhi
or Somnath in Dwaraka or the Dayal Bagh in
Agra, the Golden Temple in Amritsar. It
appears that we are sending wrong signals
about our heritage in order to ingratiate

ourselves with foreign powers.
Migrant Workers
While campaigning for the Congress -I in
Bihar Sri Rahul Gandhi ridiculed the Nitish
Kumar government by rhetorically asking, ‘if
there has been development in Bihar, why is it
that tens of thousands of Biharis have been
migrating to other states for work’?. This
observation of his shows Rahul in poor light;
his ignorance of economics and job
opportunities. A few million Kerala people
are working in Gulf countries; more than a
million engineering, IT and medical and
financial Indian professionals are working in
the USA, Canada & Europe. Tens of millions
of East Europeans (former Communist
countries) are working now in the European
Union. Throughout history men and women
have been moving from their native lands to
countries wherever there are economic and
work opportunities. Biharis as well as UP
and other Indians moving to other states within
the country or to foreign lands is a normal
historical phenomenon. In fact, it is the mi-
grant workers who build up wealth wherever
they go and in the process benefit their own
native lands by remittances. Rahul may be
ignorant of many things but it will be harder
for him to become PM and a leader, if he
shows his ignorance like this often.
India’s Nationhood
What characterise a nation knowledge of and
pride in the common heritage, in its great
heroes, in its inspiring legends and literature
and the valorous deeds of its people and
rulers in defence of freedom, independence,
sovereignty and the inviolability of the land.
Also a spontaneous will and action to go to
the succor of people stricken by natural ca-
lamities anywhere in the country is another

characteristic of a nation. It has always been
the dominant intellectual minority which
instills in common people awareness of com-
mon heritage and the underlying unity of the
people despite different languages, local
histories, modes of dress and living and eat-
ing and working
Instead, we find a number of writers and ac-
tivists mostly belonging to alien political,
social and religious ideologies and faiths all
the while talking about difference among
the people of India - different languages, cul-
tures, religions, heroes, regions, aspirations.
If we emphasize the differences and not of
the essential unity, then the people cannot be
integrated into a nation and the nation that
has been forged by hundreds of years of
struggle in this country and by a heritage of
millennia would evaporate. Our nationhood
instead of being strengthened, will be disinte-
grated and the country will fall an easy prey
to foreign aggressions and local subversions
in favour of our enemies. What unites and what
inspires us to common thinking and common
striving is what should be emphasised by our
intellectuals, our writers, artists and
political leaders .
An Amazing Historical Fact
Roots of Jinnah
Here are some interesting facts on the Lohana
roots of Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the founding
father of Pakistan:
He was the grandson of Premjibhai Thakkar
(Gondal), who, to support his family, entered
into the trading of fish within the coastal town
of Veraval.

discontinued the fish business. The Lohana
leaders, in their wisdom, did not accept his
request. (think about the course of history, if
they had not had inflated egos and had Duration of Muslim Rule over various
