*Proper Food Handling

• Don’t use the same cutting board, platter or utensils for raw meat as for fresh or cooked foods. Bacteria in raw meat or juices can contaminate other foods.

• Wash all fresh fruits and vegetables.

• Use different cutting boards or thoroughly wash.

• Always wash your hands.

• Serve food right away.

• Clean all work surfaces and utensils before preparing food.

*Ways on Cleaning Baby Bottles

1. Discard any remaining contents. If the contents are fully liquid, empty into the sink. If the bottle has been sitting overnight and is chunky, empty into the toilet.

2. Take apart the bottle. Remove the top and separate the nipple from the ring.

3. Wash all parts using hot water and soap. Make sure to clean every nook and cranny. A bottle brush will make reaching the bottom corners of the bottle and the tip
of the nipple easier.

4. Rinse in hot water.

5. Sterilize the bottle.

*Importance of a sterile baby bottle

> Young infants have a very limited immune response to certain infections.
> Gastroenteritis and other infections of the digestive system are potentially serious illnesses for young babies.
> Infections are most likely to be picked up from poorly cleaned or poorly sterilised feeding bottles and teats, or incorrectly prepared formula milk.
