Objectives:
1. To allow the child to recognize and identify the different basic shapes
2. To develop awareness in the child about his environment through illustrations

3. To let the child exercise his spelling skills
4. To aid the child in developing his vocabulary

Toy Description:

The (See it, Spell It, Figure It Out!) educational toy was created to cater children ages 4 to 6
years old as they explore their world and learn sounds, shapes, objects, actions, letters and words.
We have developed this toy to sharpen a child’s visual discrimination skill by recognizing
pictures and forming puzzles. The child, aided by an adult, is also bound to develop his skills in
reading and spelling. As he/she sees the illustrations, he/she recognizes the name of each
illustrated picture. Guided by the name of the illustration written at the back of each picture tile,
the child would be able to practice his/her skills in reading and spelling.

This toy has the following parts:

1. The triangular wooden board with drawers on the sides. The two slanted sides primarily serve
two purposes. One side, which only has one ledge at the bottom, serves as an area/board for kids
to form the wooden puzzles of the different basic shapes. The other side, which has a ledge in the
midsection and the bottom section of the board, serves as an area wherein the child practices
spelling using the wooden letter tiles with the guide of a picture tile (made of wood as well) with
the name of the picture written at the back. The side drawers serve as the storage place for the
wooden tiles.
2. 30 white wooden tiles with hand-painted illustrations on one side and the name of the
illustration on the other side.
3. Wooden letter tiles from A-Z. Each letter has three replicates.
4. Wooden shape puzzles. Each puzzle is cut in a tangram-like manner.
5. Wooden puzzle frame which serves as the area where the formed puzzle can be kept in place.

A Guide for Adults on How to Play with Children:

Side A {Slanted Board with Two Ledges}
1. Pull out any picture tile in the picture drawer on the side. Look at the name of the picture tile
written at the back.
2. Place the picture on the slanted side of the triangular board with two ledges. You have an
option whether to place the picture tile on the bottom or the mid-section ledge.
3. Then let the child guess what he/she can see. Aid the child if he is having difficulty.
4. Once he/she have identified the name of the picture, show him/her the spelling of the word
written at the back.
5. Get the needed letters from the letter drawer on the side. Aid the child in practicing the
spelling of the word by letting him/her use the wooden letter tiles.
6. If you wish to further broaden the child’s vocabulary, go beyond what is written at the back of
each picture tile. For as long as it is related to the picture and within logic and reason, encourage
using other words and help the child spell them.
7. Through time and practice, the child would be able to spell on his own and think of other
words on his own just by looking at the picture tiles and using the letter tiles.
Side B {Slanted Board with One Ledge at the Bottom}
1. Get one puzzle set from the puzzle drawer on the side.
2. Using the frame, lay down the pieces to correctly form the puzzle.
3. Then place the frame on the board.
4. Aid the child in identifying the shape formed in the puzzle.
5. Allow the child to form the puzzle and identify the shape.
