Culture

 has  Stolen  away  our  Families,  our  Children    and  our  Faith.  Are  we  
going  to  just  surrender  and  yield?    By  Dr.  Joffre  P.Vivoni  
I  have  reached  this  conclusion  based  upon  my  faith  in  God  and  my  interpretation  of  
the  Scriptures.  You  might  disagree  with  what  is  stated  on  my  title  but,  if  you  really  
love  God,  at  least  give  me  a  fair  chance  by  reading  it  all.  At  the  end  you  can  reach  
your  own  conclusion.  
The  Scripture  (God’s  Word)  says  following:      
1. With  respect  to  our  marriages:    
a. That  it  is  the  union  between  a  man  and  a  woman.  (Genesis  2:24)  
b. Woman  was  made  as  a  women  as  a  helper  to  men.  (Genesis  2:18)  
c. God  gave  them  dominion  over  the  earth  and  the  ability  to  procreate  
(have  children),  in  fact  He  commanded  them  to  have  a  lot  of  children.  
(Genesis  1:28-­‐29)  
 
2. With  respect  to  our  children:  
a. They  are  our  inheritance  (Psalm  127:3)  
b. We  are  commanded  to  train  them  in  the  ways  of  the  Lord  (Proverbs  
22:6)  
c. In  Biblical  times  they  used  to  stay  with  the  parents  until  they  got  
married  and  in  the  meantime  contribute  to  the  well  being  of  the  home,  
including  the  economy.  

Everything  that  God  has  made  is  good  (Genesis  1:31);  why  then  are  there  so  many  
divorces  in  Christian  churches?  Why  are  so  many  of  our  children  in  disarray  and  
unbelief?  The  reason  is  that  the  church  has  left  the  truth  God  has  said  in  His  Word  
and  have  adopted  the  lie  that  modern  culture  and  our  modern  society  have  
presented  as  the  truth.  
If  we  are  honest  with  ourselves  we  realize  that  modern  culture  and  modern  society  
say  the  following:    
1. With  respect  to  our  marriages:  
a. It  is  a  way  to  “legally”  satisfy  our  sexual  desires  and  whatever  
moral  values  the  “couple”  have.    
b. God  meant  for  marriage  to  be  between  a  man  and  a  woman,  
culture  accepts  it  no  matter  what.  
c. God  meant  for  marriage  to  be  permanent  “  until  death”  do  us  
apart”,  culture  teaches  until  “problems”  do  us  apart.    
 
2. With  respect  to  our  children:  
a. You  are  supposed  to  take  care  of  him  by  letting  him/her  do  what  
they  want.  It  is  illegal  to  correct  them  or  to  enforce  the  rules  of  the  
home.

 b. At  18  or  shortly  after  they  should  move  out  of  their  homes  and  
become  independent.  They  should  not  have  the  “burden”  of  taking  
care  or  honoring  their  parents.  
 
c. They  should  not  be  forced  to  have  the  parent’s  religion,  nor  be  
taught  of  values  and  morality  that  are  politically  incorrect.  
Government  has  to  set  the  rules.  “Government”  “Big  brother”  
knows  best.                                                                                                                                                                                                                        
 
d. At  18  or  shortly  after  they  should  move  out  of  their  homes  and  
become  independent.  They  should  not  have  the  “burden”  of  taking  
care  or  honoring  their  parents.  
 
In  our  times,  government  schools  and  the  media  have  taken  the  responsibility  and  
the  authority  to  determine  what  is  best  for  the  citizens  of  this  country.  Politicians  
and  the  media  determine  what  is  morally  right,  and  or  what  is  truth  without  concern  
of  what  does  God  says  or  wants.  In  fact  our  culture  has  emerged  to  be  the  “me”  
culture.  Where  God  can  not  interfere  with  our  business  or  actions.  No  wonder  we  
have  so  much  corruption  and  evil  in  this  world.  No  wonder  many  of  our  families,  
churches  and  children  have  going  astray.  What  can  we  do,  follow  what  God  is  telling  
the  church  in  2  Chronicles  7:14,  
“If  my  people  which  are  called  by  my  Name,  shall  humble  themselves,  and  pray,  and  
seek  my  face,  and  turn  from  their  wicked  ways;  then  will  I  hear  from  heaven,  and  will  
forgive  their  sin,  and  will  heal  their  land.”  

Let  us  take  a  stand,  let  us  do  as  in  the  times  of  Nehemiah,  let  us  go  back  to  basics  let  
us  bring  God  back  into  our  lives;  let  us  start  re-­‐building  this  country  now.    But,    if  
you  don't  want  to  worship  the  LORD,  then  choose  right  now!  Will  you  worship  the  
same  idols  your  ancestors  did?  Or  since  you're  living  on  land  where  self-­‐
gratification,  pleasure  and  worldly  culture  reign,  maybe  you'll  worship  their  gods.  I  
won't.  My  family  and  I  are  going  to  worship  and  obey  the  LORD!  (  Joshua  24:15).
