Even though every week is "fashion week" for the sharp-dressed peeps in the
Courier's editorial department, we'd be remiss not to mention Vancouver Fashion

Open Road Audi dealership (2395 Boundary Rd.) the runway shows get underway
at the Empire Landmark Hotel (1400 Robson St.) starting Thursday. Please let
rugby pants come back into style. More details at www.vanfashionweek.com.
Vancouver Pro Musica presents Sonic Boom 2010, its annual festival of new music

How's this for a premise--a group of local comedic improvisers direct the city's
best emerging young talent at Havana Theatre April 7 to 10 for an event called
Young and Spontaneous, brought to you by the organizers of the Vancouver
Improv Festival. Just how improvised will things get? Well, the press release even
neglected to provide info on show times or ticket information.
TOOTHY TONIC
Vancouver New Music's annual spring concert series Sonic Tonic kicks off April 8
with Montreal's Quatuor Bozzini, which, according to the press bumph, moves
between the avant-garde and traditional and has been known to "get its teeth
into music." Show 8 p.m. with a free artist chat at 7 p.m. at the Scotiabank
Dance Centre (677 Davie St.) Tickets $25/$15 at Sikora's Classical Records, 604-
684-2787 and www.ticketstonight.ca.
DRAMA-RAMA
Answering the age-old question "What happens when you put a writer, a baritone
and a pianist into a room?" Savage Parade portrays an emotionally turbulent
period in the life of 19th century French poet Paul Verlaine. Described as
biographical drama that combines traditional theatre with music recital format, or
"song drama," Savage Parade runs April 8 to 10 at Granville Island's Waterfront
Theatre. Tickets at www.brownpapertickets.com or by calling 1-800-838-3006.
