NOTICE OF MEETING

OF THE OWNERS OF
ALPINE HEIGHTS HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION

TO: OWNERS OF ALPINE HEIGHTS HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION

FROM: BOARD OF DIRECTORS

RE: ANNUAL ELECTIONS

The next homeowner meeting will be scheduled at 7:00 Wednesday, June 2nd, at the Living
Word Church. If you have any particular topics to be addressed on the agenda, please
submit them to Park Management.

The primary purpose is to vote for the two open Board of Director’s positions and to
discuss recent developments and events of importance to the homeowners. No
resident has stepped forward this year to serve a 2-year term. Any person who receives the
most write-in votes will be elected. Bob Goes and Leo Koch have decided not to run for re-
election at this time.

If no one steps forward, the Board will consist of three people. Because this situation has
occurred before, we are again attempting to ratify an amendment intended to create an
incentive for people to volunteer by rebating their annual assessments in return for their
service. Previous votes have been in favor of the proposal, but have fallen short because of
lack of overall response of the total membership.

A WORD FROM THE PRESIDENT

When I first volunteered my time and knowledge to serve on the homeowner board, I did so
with one specific goal in mind. That was to bring a favorable conclusion to the issue we face
with the developer, the County and MWRD regarding our incomplete and unpermitted
detention system. After serving as President for four years and Treasurer for two, I have
been unable to meet my goal. However, I am still very much committed to shepherding this
matter to a close.

As my third two-year term comes to an end, I have decided not to seek re-election and to
allow others to lead the homeowner association. However, if I were to receive enough write-
in votes from the homeowners, I would consider serving one additional 2-year term.

As an informed resident, I will still volunteer my time and assist the new Board on an advisory
basis to seek resolution of the legal and civil issues we still face. I have been fortunate to
have worked with the great people who have served with me over the years to close a
number of other issues and unfinished business that resulted from our tumultuous turnover.
Most of this work was never seen by those outside of the Board and should place future
leaders in a more routine position.

It has been my pleasure serving my neighbors during the initial 6 years of homeowner control
of the association. We have come a long way toward normalcy and for that I am proud to
have been part of it.
