- The cause of the problem is ex-convict unemployment. US Department of Labor writes ex- Year of Incorporation
convicts who are employed full-time are exponentially less likely to commit crimes again. 2007
- The unemployment rate for ex-convicts 1 year after their release is 60%. Ex-convicts are
unemployed for 2 reasons, 1) lack of professional skills – 70% of ex-convicts do not have high
