Game Background
????????????????????????????????????

Aveyond is the sequel to Ahriman s Prophecy (fondly known as AP) and takes place 5
00 years after the events in Ahriman s Prophecy. Talia (main protagonist of AP) is
, in Aveyond, the Dreamer, guarding the Dreamland. However, the Dark Lord Ahrima
n had not been fully defeated previously by Talia and her friends, and he now co
mes back continuing his vicious scheme to destroy the world. His first step is t
o send out a subordinate to assassinate Talia, but the attempt fails and Talia,
now awakened from the Dream World, but badly wounded, summons help from Rhen, th
e daughter of her old friends. (well, two of your AP party members, that is )
In Aveyond, the player goes through the story through the eyes of Rhen. Rhen, an
ordinary girl living in the village of Clearwater, has been summoned to a sever
ely injured Talia on a fateful day. She saves Talia and the priestess presents h
er with a Priestess Ring full of magical power. This, however, causes Rhen to be
mistaken for a priestess, captured and then sold as a slave Luckily, she is fre
ed when her Sword Singer abilities are recognized and she soon goes into trainin
g at a well-known institution, the Shadwood Academy, along with Lars, the mean s
on of her previous mistress. After a period of time spent at the academy, Rhen r
eunites with Talia, only to learn about Ahriman and his devious plots. She then
decides to embark on a journey to stop Ahriman and bring back peace to the world
.
To upset Ahriman s schemes, Rhen is required to gather all the eight druids and th
en make use of their combined powers to help stop Ahriman. She travels the four
isles and, along the way, meets many companions and soul mates who are willing t
o fight alongside her. At the same time, there are many less friendly foes, who
stand in her way.
Aveyond provides the player with much freedom in the sense that the player can c
hoose the order of game-play as well as the development of the plot, notably, th
e freedom to choose between different endings depending on one s preferences.

Summary of Ahriman s Prophecy
????????????????????????????????????

Ahriman s Prophecy is the prequel to Aveyond, and is focused around the journeys o
f Talia. Talia led an ordinary life in the village of Elden, where everyone went
to Avril to be named, a deciding factor for one s future occupation. Talia hoped
to be named Herbalist, but she saw a weird vision and Avril decided to send her
to Thais, to train in the Collegium of War and Magick, instead of naming her. Fa
te is the rope that binds her and Ahriman, a demon bent on destroying the world.
She will meet many friends on her way, but at the same time, there are less-pea
ceful denizens lurking around every corner
?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
V. Introduction To Important Characters in Aveyond [char]
?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Thank you to MagickWielder for the information in this section!!
NOTE: Newly recruited characters will automatically be at Rhen s level, but while
they are in the reserve party, they will stop levelling up until they are placed
in the active party, so choose your active party carefully!
????????????????????????????????????
Rhen, the Sword Singer [rhn]
????????????????????????????????????
Rhen used to be a humble villager from the peaceful hamlet of Clearwater, but Fa
te is constantly toying with her. She is the main character in the story, and ha
s undergone many trials and tribulations, such as being sold as a slave. One day
she discovers that she has the ability of a Sword Singer.
Will she save the world from Ahriman? Only time will tell.
Rhen is an excellent character, as all main characters normally are. She uses a
mix of melee and magic skills to fell her foes and is basically quite balanced.
She stays in the active party forever, so make sure you train her up and make us
e of her abilities in battles

????????????????????????????????????
Lars, the Sorcerer [lrs]
????????????????????????????????????
Lars is a spoiled brat, who always HAS to get his way. He looks down on all mann
er of low-life , from slaves to Pirate scum . Perhaps being the Veldarah Empress cousin
has inflated his ego His hometown is the quaint village of Ghalarah, on the East
ern isle, where he lives with his equally pompous mother, Mistress Rona. (Yet, a
ll humans change, so, watch his growth as you progress with the game )
Lars is perhaps the best offensive spell-caster in the game, with elemental orb
staves that boost the attack power of certain spells, though they also dampen th
e strength of others. Because his magic comes from within him, it costs more man
a to use than Rhen s magic, which she draws from her sword, but his is more powerf
ul. He, however, is quite useless when you want to beat your foe with melee atta
cks.

????????????????????????????????????
Dameon, the Sun Druid [dam]
????????????????????????????????????
Dameon is an immortal. Yes, you heard right He is the Druid of the Sun, and Talia s
son. (No rhyme intended.) But he has a few tricks up his sleeve, and it is hard
to see where his loyalties lie, so watch out!
Dameon is the best defensive spell-caster in the game, no questions asked. He ha
s a variety of healing, status altering and defense spells to minimize and recov
er any damage done on your party. However, he s quite useless if you want offensiv
e power.

????????????????????????????????????
Elini, the Demon Summoner [elni]
????????????????????????????????????

Elini is a noblewoman from the desert kingdom of Veldt. She has three husbands,
and is looking for yet another one! She has a fiery temper, and is very protecti
ve of her husbands (as you will later see, if you make the right plot advances).
She is a demon summoner. The best thing about that, is that she earns a new spe
ll every time you slay a Daeva! (Of course, she has to be in your active party a
t the point of the Daeva s defeat.)
While Elini s demon summoning skills pack a punch, and come in a wide variety, the
y are mostly single-target skills, and all of them burn up a lot of her mana. Ho
wever, unlike Lars, she can attack decently when she runs out of fuel.

????????????????????????????????????
Te ijal, the Vampress [teij]
????????????????????????????????????

Te ijal is a Vampress. Yup, blood is one of her favorite foods. She s also an archer
, it seems, although she wields rapiers just as well, probably even better. She
has an unhealthy fascination for the living, and an even more unhealthy, and mor
bid, sense of humor. (But then again, what Vampress doesn t?) She thinks that self
-righteous men are especially cute. (Again, you ll get a chance to see this in the
game, should you stumble upon the right plot line.)
When not feasting on hemoglobin, or threatening to feast on hemoglobin, Te ijal en
joys fighting. And she s good at it! An elven rapier, coupled with a soul pendant
(see below for info) are all she needs to inflict shocking damage! Her only bad
point is that she can only attack one enemy at once. Her skill is useless, unles
s you want to get some mana-efficient healing done.
Note: If you see someone on the boards posting Vampire girl , then they are referri
ng to Te ijal. Her name IS pretty hard to remember by heart, after all. Unless you r
e Aveyond-obsessed. =) (luvly_hui: or an ardent Te ijal fan like ME!! Muahaha )

????????????????????????????????????
Galahad, the Paladin [glhd]
????????????????????????????????????

Galahad is a goody-two-shoes. No, really. He serves the King of Sedona, on the W

estern isle. Claiming to always fight for justice, he well, fights for justice. H
e especially loathes Te ijal, but that only seems to add to the chemistry between
them, much to Galahad s misfortune (This is very amusing sometimes, as you will fin
d out.)
Aside from amusement purposes, Galahad is quite useless, because, well, he s prett
y weak He has a decent amount of HP, however. Still, other characters like Te ijal
and Pirate John are often the #1 choices.

????????????????????????????????????
Pirate John, the Dragon Rider [prjhn]
????????????????????????????????????

Pirate John is a dirty criminal. Yeah, he s a pirate, first of all. His location,
a jail cell on the Veniara isles, is enough to testify to what he does for a liv
ing. He s also a dragon rider, though. Surprise surprise, eh? considering Teyhor dr
agons detest all evil. (I d imagine a criminal would be considered at least a litt
le evil.) Also, John is known to be a four-timer, having a relationship with pra
ctically every lady in the party
But in John s defense, he s changed, and is no longer a bad guy.
Even though Pirate John has less HP than Te ijal, his melee attack is second only
to hers, even when she has the Soul Pendant equipped! So make sure to have him i
n your party, if you want a melee party.

????????????????????????????????????
Mad Marge, the Ale-seller [mmrg]
????????????????????????????????????
Marge is Mad. O_o She lives in the aptly named Sour Ale Tavern, on the Veniara is
le where Pirate John is. You have to pay her to have her join your party Yes, she s
the only character who works for a fee. Nothing is free when it comes to Mad Ma
rge. She s also crude, and very, wow, how should I put this ? Offensive? Yes.
Her attack, HP and all other stats are pretty average. Don t get her unless you ha
ve money to spare, or just want to know what it s like to complete the game with a
ll the available characters.

????????????????????????????????????
Talia, the Dreamer [tlia]
????????????????????????????????????

Talia and her friends had fought valiantly against Ahriman five hundred years ag
o (in the events of Aveyond s prequel, Ahriman s Prophecy). She is half-fairy, which
explains her long life. Since then, she became the Dreamer and guarded the Drea
mland. (You didn t think she was called the Dreamer because she didn t pay attention
in class, did you?) However, Ahriman s return and an attempt by one of his servan
ts, Agas, to kill her pulls her out of the dream-world. She summons Rhen to save
her and also help her stop Ahriman s evil plans. After Rhen and company embark on
their journey to find all the druids, Talia stays in Aveyond with the Oracle an
d Devin, discussing ways to stop Ahriman. At the same time, she guides Rhen alon
g by giving the young Sword Singer advice. Talia is also Dameon s mother, but thei
r relationship is far from cordial due to some incidents that happened in the pa
st, involving Dameon s father. Due to her duties as the Dreamer, she also seems to
have difficulties in caring for and communicating with her son, but with Rhen s h
elp, Talia s relationship with Dameon may take a turn for the better
Talia can be a friend , but she is a non-playable character (in this game anyway!)

????????????????????????????????????
Devin, the Rightful King of Thais [dvin]
????????????????????????????????????

(NPC) Devin is Talia s long lost childhood friend. After fighting along with Talia
against Ahriman, he eventually married Alicia and became King of Thais. However
, when Thais was destroyed by monsters, he fled and became a hermit, living in a
small wooden cottage in the deep forest. When he is finally reunited with Talia
he discovers that Alicia has passed away... After accepting Talia s invitation, h
e joins the group and heads towards Aveyond to do all he can to help. Although h
e seems to be a rather boring character, he will be involved in various plot dev
elopments later in the game as you learn more about him.

????????????????????????????????????
Ahriman, the Dark Lord [ahrm]
????????????????????????????????????
Ahriman, like his former self in Ahriman s Prophecy, is determined to destroy the
entire world and send everything into a realm of despair and darkness. Although
his initial attempt to assassinate Talia failed, he still continues with his plo
ts with alarming speed and vigor. Also, he seems to have some scheme in mind tha
t involves Dameon. It is up to Rhen and her friends to stop him before the world
is ruined and also before Dameon is further led into the world of darkness and
corruption.

????????????????????????????????????
The Other Six Druids [drds]

ntrol over darkness. He lives in Ghed ahre s fabled Chapel, on the Eastern Isle.

????????????????????????????????????
The Beginning Clearwater [begn]
????????????????????????????????????

- Starting a new game -

The game starts off with a scene of a priestess being heavily wounded by one of
the Dark Lord Ahriman s subordinates, Agas. The priestess sends out a butterfly, w
hich she constructs out of light with her priestly powers, to seek help. The scr
een then show credits as the butterfly flutters to Clearwater, where Rhen, the p
rotagonist, is. The game starts! ^_^ Enjoy the music! It is truly breathtaking.

- Finding Dyonna the herbalist -

Rhen saves the priestess and brings her from the cliff back to Clearwater throug
h the magical portal. Rhen s father then appears, recognizes Talia, and takes her
to his and Rhen s home. From where Rhen is, head left, go up the ladder and enter
the house with a fenced yard, beside the bridge. This is Rhen s home. Rhen s father
(Pa) will then send you to find the herbalist Dyonna Lauzrel to treat the priest
ess wounds. Dyonna s house is the furthest one to the northeast direction. From Rhe
n s house, go right past the bridge, up the ladder, left across the bridge, then u
p again to reach her house.

- Finding the Marionbells -

After the priestess wounds are tended, Rhen s mother (Ma) tells Rhen to pick 5 Mari
onbell flowers in preparation for Clearwater s annual celebration, the Spring Equi
nox Festival, and gives Rhen an empty basket for that task. To find the marionbe
lls, head to the area where your childhood friend Peter is. Once out of Rhen s hou
se, head down the ladder and back to the area where Rhen first appeared in the g
ame. You ll find four marionbells there, two on each side of the bridge. In order
to pick the last marionbell, head to the cave beside the Clearwater sign. When y
ou re inside the cave, head upwards. You ll end up on a small grassy area where the
final marionbell is. After that, dusk will approach, so after handing the Marion
bells to Rhen s Ma, it s time to sleep! ^_^

- Ahriman s schemes -

After Rhen sleeps, there is a cut scene (CS) showing the Dark Lord Ahriman. He i
s trying to kill the priestess after having failed on the previous attempt, and
summons Dameon, the Druid of Sun (Sun Guardian). Dameon, betrayed by the Sun God
and now working under Ahriman, plans to turn his mother, the priestess, into a
slave.
The next day, the house is empty, save for the priestess Rhen rescued. Talk to h
er, and she will say that Rhen is the chosen one, and present Rhen with a magica
l Priestess Ring. You will put it on, and now it s time to check out the village.
(the music changes into a little festive tune, enjoy!!) After you re done explorin
g the whole town, you can head over to the cave, where Rhen s childhood friend Pet
er is. He tells Rhen that he and Jenna are going to look for Billy Harper s sheep,
and invites Rhen along. Agree and follow Peter into the cave. But instead of se
eing Peter, a strange man will be blocking your way. Speak to him, and Rhen will
expose her Priestess Ring during the dialogue.
The stranger mistakes Rhen for the priestess because of the ring and forces a pa
ir of slave bracelets onto Rhen. Despite her protests and struggles, Rhen is shi
pped to the Eastern Isle, where the slave trade is flourishing, and sold off to
a family to begin her new life as a slave.

????????????????????????????????????
Rhen s Days As A Slave Ghalarah [rhsla]
????????????????????????????????????

- Killing the spiders Battle tutorial -

Rhen, now a slave dressed in rags, is working for a family in Ghalarah. Her owne
r, Mistress Rona, is a mean and demanding woman while her son, Lars, is proud an
d arrogant (this has been made worse by the fact that he has been recruited as a
n apprentice sorcerer for the Shadwood Academy in Veldarah, which is truly a gre
at honor.) Mistress Rona asks Rhen to check the chore list on the desk in her ro
om. One of the chores is to kill off the spiders in the attic. You should make u
se of this opportunity to familiarize yourself with the battle system in Aveyond
.
Make sure to save regularly! (AKA before and after killing each of the spiders.
You never know when Rhen could bite the dust! O_O)
So, head up to the attic in the house and you will see three purple spiders craw
ling about. In order to fight them, walk up to them and hit the Enter key or spa
cebar, and you will trigger a battle ( Time to die, spider! Rhen will yell enthusia
stically, perhaps for the last time, if you re not careful!). A battle screen will
then pop up and fighting commences. There are four options available: Attack (d
eal a physical attack), Skills (use magic spells or skills), Shield (defend for
a turn), and Items (use items from inventory). Just deal physical attacks to the
spiders and they should die after a few hits. After the spider dies, you ll find
that Rhen is now facing a mass of squished spider. Welcome to the most interesti
ng aspect of Aveyond you don t get money and items straight after battle, you have
to search the corpses for them! Remember to loot the corpses by pressing the sp
acebar or Enter key while standing on top of them!! This is going to be the main
way for you to earn money and receive items from battles in Aveyond.
After killing off all the spiders in the attic AND looting all the corpses, head
back down and talk to Mistress Rona. You have now completed your first chore, s
o you should move on to your second one.

- Getting Lars traveling clothes from the seamstress -

You re now free to walk about and check out the city of Ghalarah, so do so. The se
amstress Terlin lives in the first house to the left after walking down from Lar
s home. When Rhen talks to Terlin, she hands Rhen Lars traveling clothes and you c
an choose to chat with her for a while, though you don t have to if you want to ca
rry on. After you ve explored enough, head back to talk to Mistress Rona and she t
ells you to get Lars back home for supper. (Lars can be found with his snotty fr
iends in a clearing between the trees at the southern part of the town.) When yo
u deliver his mother s message to him, he refuses to listen and even uses a magic
spell to remove Rhen s slave bracelets in his annoyance. (Yay!) When Rhen reports
back, Mistress Rona punishes her and forces the poor lass to go to bed without g
iving her dinner. Oh well. So head back to Rhen s room and sleep off the hunger.

- Rhen s powers awaken -

The next morning when you talk to Mistress Rona, she tells you to look for Lars,
since the envoy from Shadwood Academy will arrive at any time to fetch him. Hea
d outside the house and go downwards, and you ll see Lars bullying Edie, a slave b
oy. Approach them, and Rhen sticks up for Edie. In the process, she somehow mana
ges to use a stick to cast a spell on Lars. This catches the eye of two stranger
s nearby and they approach her. Turns out the two, namely Ghelda and Lorad, are
the envoy from Shadwood Academy, and they marvel at Rhen s ability to draw magic f
rom a mere stick. (You see, in Aveyond, Sword Singers are normally only able to
draw magic from metal.) They soon decide that Rhen has the rare and powerful tal
ent of a Sword Singer and officially release her from slavery. They then present
Rhen with a token that proves her freedom as a citizen and servant of the Empre
ss, and tell her to head to the academy in Veldarah.
Ghelda then leaves with Lars to prepare for the journey, while Lorad stays to an
swer Rhen s questions. After talking to Lorad, head back to Mistress Rona, who now
refuses to let you stay the night. Rhen can now leave Ghalarah and head to Veld
arah. You can sleep at the inn instead, if you have the money to spare and feel
that Rhen needs her shut-eye, but it s recommended that you just carry on to Velda
rah, especially if you re using the 10-15 hour demo...

- Traveling to Veldarah -

Well, firstly, this area is actually quite big, with quite a number of things yo
u can get, so you can jolly well take your own sweet time to explore. Meanwhile
you can also fight monsters to earn enough money for you to stay at the inn in G
halarah should you ever need the rest and HP replenishment (one stay costs 10 go
ld pennies). Initially, you can train with the spiders, and then head back to to
wn to rest or to purchase restorative items. When you re confident enough, fight t
he wild chickens as they give more experience points and gold pennies than the s
piders. If you want to train even more after that, you might want to consider tr
aining with the snakes and mice in the caves, west of Veldarah, until you re satis
fied with Rhen s level.
In order to reach Veldarah from Ghalarah, first head to the right, past the brid
ge, then just follow the dirt path. You ll see a signpost. Continue following the
dirt path, go up the ladder, and when you reach the point where there is a ladde
r heading down into a valley, head up instead of down. Then, move to the left an
d you should see a bridge. Cross it, move to the right, and go up where there is
a small gap between the trees. You ll then see an opening to a cave on your left
and a ladder leading down to a lower platform to your right. Head down the ladde
r and continue right, following the cobblestone path, and you ll reach Veldarah. T
ry making some little detours on the way to Veldarah. You might find some nice s
tuff. ^_^

????????????????????????????????????
The Learning Journey Veldarah [jrny]
????????????????????????????????????
- Rhen, the apprentice Sword Singer -

Once you head to Veldarah, we recommend that you check everything out, just for
the heck of it! Veldarah is an absolutely beautiful place that was hand-drawn by
Amanda. ^_^ But if you want to continue with the plot, then go on ahead to Shad
wood Academy! It s in the northwest part of town. Go there and talk to Headmaster
Harald, a man in a little room on the first floor of the academy, to your left.
Enjoy more dialogue, and then follow his instructions (remember to change out of
those rags by accessing Rhen s school uniform in your inventory!).
Your room is on the first floor of the Academy - enter the courtyard, then go to
the left door and search the rooms one by one. Yours should be the first one on
the lower column, it has a treasure chest inside beside the bed. After a nice s
leep, and a cut-scene, go outside and you ll be challenged by Lorad, one of talent
scouts who brought you here! Use Slide Thrust, a new Sword Singer skill that Rhen
has learned, and he should fall quickly. Don t worry about HP and MP if you just
keep using Slide Thrust, he should fall soon. You can always rest in your room f
or free if the fight takes it out of Rhen.
Now you will be an official apprentice Sword Singer, and during your time spent
at the academy, you have gained 5 levels! With Rhen s new apprentice class schedul
e, you are now free to learn 5 spells from the classrooms on the highest level o
f the academy. If you want Rhen to learn the more advanced spells, but her level
is still too low, you may want to consider going out of Veldarah to train a bit
more, before coming back to learn the skills. (Level 15 is enough for Rhen to l
earn the most advanced spells the academy has to offer.)

- Meeting the mysterious priestess again -

You re probably wondering what to do, now that Rhen has all the good skills that y
ou want her to have. Well, go to the Junk Shop. (It has a key for its sign and i
t is located near the entrance to Veldarah itself.) You ll see three items for sal
e: a ring that looks very familiar, a birdcage and a mirror. If you have enough
money, (and we mean enough money. Seriously.) get all three. Otherwise, just buy
the very cheap ring. The Priestess that you met a few months ago (at least for
Rhen) appears! After a long dialogue, you find out that she is the Dreamer Talia
, and she tells you to go meet the Empress of Veldarah. After another lengthy di
alogue, this time with the Empress, you discover more details of your mission. L
ars will also join you during the speech, because he insists that he s the best so
rcerer in the land. *rolls eyes*

- Getting to Aveyond -

Before leaving Veldarah, go pick up Lars, who is in his room at the academy. If
you have any spare money, get some better equipment and supplies from the variou
s shops around town. Head out of Veldarah, and you ll see Talia somewhere near the
town s entrance/exit. Talk to her, and agree to escort her to Aveyond. To get to
the World Map from Veldarah, go west and south through the trees; back down the
bridge, and east again. When you see a ladder, go down it and head northwest, on
a long boardwalk. Keep to the north, and you should end up on a big map. To the
north is the ferry to the Northern Isle, where Aveyond is. To the east (you hav
e to go south and north again), is the boat dealer. Talk to him and he will ask
you if you know anyone who s looking for a husband. You don t, but when you find som
eone suitable, return to him and he will lower the price of the boats. (Addition
al advice for those who wonder whether to get the Skudder or the rowboat: You ca
n t cross deep waters in the rowboat, but you can use it to travel to other isles
to battle stronger monsters until you earn enough money to buy the Skudder.) Exp
lore the rest of the Eastern Isle. To the south is Wildwood; don t go there until
you ve been to the Northern Isle, because the monsters there are tougher. To advan
ce in the plot you need to go to Aveyond. Pay the ferry man 20 GP and he takes y
ou to the Northern Isle.
As usual, you have two options. You can proceed directly to Aveyond, or you can
take your time and explore. To the north is Thornkeep, a snowy village, and home
of the Mountain King. If you head east, then north, then west, you will be at t
he mines. Here you can rescue a man (you can trigger this quest by first talking
to his wife in Thornkeep, but it is not necessary to do so, as you can also sav
e him without triggering the side quest; it depends on how you wish to go about
playing your game). There are also a few caves that contain treasure, so look ar
ound thoroughly. To get to Aveyond, go east again, instead of west, and travel s
outh around the lake to a cave. You are now back on the world map. You can eithe
r go the Ice Palace and talk to the Snow Queen, or go east and enter another cav
e. If you go through the caves, you will find yourself in a grassy area.
Aveyond (The Sun Shrine) is located to the northeast in this grassy area. Just f
ollow the signpost. You can also choose to first visit Teacup Town, home of the
binis. Here you can buy a smokebomb, an item needed to calm bees to obtain beesw
ax. (For more details, refer to the section: Rhen s Mission: Aveyond) To the south
are the Memory Caverns. Through this cave network is a beehive, fairies (talk t
o the Snow Queen), and some treasure.

Rhen s Mission Aveyond [missn]
????????????????????????????????????

- A New Prophecy -

Talk to the Oracle at Aveyond and you receive some disturbing news. Ahriman is o
n the rise again, and this time, it s up to you to save the world. He has captured
the souls of 6 druids: Rashnu, Druid of Darkness; Vohu Manah, Druid of Music; A
rmaiti, Druid of Agriculture; Daena, Druid of Wisdom; Eithera, Druid of Strength
; and Vata, Druid of Time. Your quest is to defeat the daevas guarding their sou
ls and return the druids to Aveyond. Only Dameon, the Sun Priest, remains. He ca
n join you on your quest, but is really what he seems to be? (Remember, you saw
him in the beginning of the game ?) Each time you save a druid, a door will open i
n the Sun Shrine s basement treasury, and you can choose one of two gifts to keep.
Once you have saved all the druids, a secret door will open, and the Sword of S
hadows will be revealed. It is the only sword that can defeat Ahriman, and it mu
st never be broken, because it contains the souls of demons, who would be releas
ed to wreak havoc on the world.

- Wildwoods Becoming a full-fledged Sword Singer -

Once you have visited the Northern Isle and the Sun Shrine, you should be at a l
evel high enough for you to enter the Wildwoods without getting killed by the mo
nsters in the area. Talk to Elini, the Veldt woman standing outside, and she wil
l join your party. Explore the woods thoroughly, except the Halloween Hills, and
the Lands End region (the grassy area), which you should leave till later. Make
sure you buy a garlic necklace and at least one stake from the tavern, or those
vampires will suck your blood! If you head to the southwest, you will find your
old friend from AP! Although Devin is now a hermit, Talia is amazed to see him,
and goes with him to Aveyond. You should go and speak to them once you have fin
ished in Wildwood.
To the east are some frozen men hmm you ve heard of a hind that turns men to stone could
she be nearby? This is the great deed that Lorad was talking about, and if you de
feat the hind, you will be made a full Sword Singer (and full-fledged sorcerer f
or Lars)! Make sure you have a mirror to reflect the hind s gaze, and wax to plug
your ears, or she ll freeze you too! (For more details, please refer to the side q
uests guide) So, what s the big deal about passing this Trial? Well, nothing much,
except Lars can join a guild and learn some awesome spells, and Rhen will be ab
le to use Sword Singer Skills and special swords she finds along the way. Rhen a
lso will get another cool outfit to change into. XD (Meaning, stop the hind or e
lse you ll stand to lose out!!)
The Halloween Hills are exactly what the name suggests; spooky they are haunted by
ghosts, and the only animals are bats. To the northwest is Ghed ahre, the vampire
village, and to the east is New Witchwood. Of the witches who live here, one wi
ll be looking for a husband (and you know just the man!), one wants to look ugli
er (completing this quest will earn you a shovel-yay!), another wants a sludge-m
aking machine (you re sure you ve seen one somewhere ), and another wants her good child
taken away. Goodness, witches are demanding! The vampires are almost as bad but i
f they don t seem to have any purpose, you can stake them with stakes bought from
the inn. Te ijal lives in Ghed ahre, but she can t venture outside without sunblock, d
ue to her photosensitive skin. (For further details regarding the side quests me
ntioned above, please refer to the side quests guide)

????????????????????????????????????
The Druid of Darkness [dr_drk]
????????????????????????????????????

- Getting the Druid s Soul -

Rashnu, the Druid of Darkness, is the first druid you should rescue. His body is
in the Vampire Cathedral in Ghed ahre, the vampire town. To get there, go to Wild
woods and follow the signpost to the Halloween Hills. Take a few steps west, the
n head north. When you see a small path through the trees leading north, you hav
e found Ghed ahre. The cathedral is the big building that looks like a cathedral. (l
ike, duh, the building just tells you that the plot must be triggered there ) Talk
to the vampires, and they will tell you about rumours of a secret basement unde
r the cathedral. Try the door inside it leads to poor Rashnu s body, but where is hi
s soul? Maybe take a break for a while play some music. There s an organ right there
why don t you try playing it? Alright. On to explore the rest of the church. To t
he left you ll see a door What are you waiting for?

So, enter the door, and then wander around, and you should find three doors. The
top-right one leads to a treasure chest, the bottom-left one leads to an empty
room (where you can see another room with a chest AKA the mystery room, because no
one can remember how to get there). The bottom-middle room leads to a room with
lots of coffins. Search them all, and ta da! A secret passage is revealed! Follow
it to the end, where there is the door leading to the final chamber, and Zarich
Have Lars cast Sleep on Zarich, whose attack is almost purely magical, while Rhe
n and Elini just do the worst damage they can with their most powerful spells. L
ars can cure whenever necessary. After a while Zarich should fall
- Saving the Druid -

Now that you ve defeated Zarich, you can collect the soul (just press spacebar whi
le facing, and standing adjacent to, the orb), and take it back to Rashnu. He wi
ll thank you, and join your party as a guest. Once you take him back to Aveyond,
you can choose a gift from his treasury. You get to choose between a bag of sil
ver coins and sunblock. Wait. Sunblock. Sunblock?? Now, didn t a really charming v
ampress just ask for that so she could venture out of the dead city of Ghed ahre?

????????????????????????????????????
The Druid of Music [dr_msc]
????????????????????????????????????

- Getting the Druid s Soul -

Vohu Manah, the Druid of Music, is in the Lands End Temple, which is on the othe
r side of the Wildwoods. Walk southeast from the signpost, which is just south o
f the Wildwoods Tavern, until you are in a grassy area. Go left, and then as far
right as possible (just go back if you reach a dead end), and you should be in a
large clearing, with the temple in the middle. As before, the druid is frozen s
olid. The stairs to the left lead to the basement, where Nanghaithya awaits
If you have any, use spells that have a lasting effect, like Decompose, or Weevi
ls (Necromancer s Guild). If not, just attack him as best you can! Now is a good t
ime to use Elini s powerful summoning spells

- Saving the Druid -

Collect Vohu Manah s soul, and take it upstairs to his body. Return him to Aveyond
in return for a special gift from his treasury. You have a choice of either the
sleep flute, or 20 emeralds. Once again, it is advised to take the item, instea
d of the cash value gift, but it isn t so important this time. The sleep flute is
effective on weaker monsters, but doesn t always work on the stronger ones. The em
eralds can help to buy the boat, but you can always earn money by fighting monst
ers.
????????????????????????????????????
The Druid of Agriculture [dr_agri]
????????????????????????????????????

- Getting the Druid s Soul -

Go to the Highlands, on the western isle, and follow the path until you reach a
signpost. Go north up the ladder, and follow the path again. When the path ends,
look for a ladder and go up it. To get to Green Rock Temple, pass through the c
ave just ahead; go west across the bridge and up the ladders, until you reach th
e temple. There you will find the frozen body of Armaiti, Druid of Agriculture.
To find the daeva, instead of going to the cave straight ahead, go further east,
until you come to another cave. Don t go up the ladder; just go into the next tun
nel, which is slightly northeast.
As for the actual battle with the daeva, Tawrich fight sneaky. Unless you re incre
dibly strong, it s going to be easier to kill the daeva if he s not hurling spells a
t you. If you have spells that make him sick, or silence him, use them. If not,
then just keep on trying. (You might need to level up more, though).

- Saving the Druid -

Once you ve got Armaiti s soul, take it back to Green Rock Temple and rescue him. Th
is time, the thank-you is more of a warning that time is running out. You must q
uickly take him back to Aveyond. (Or so he says, it doesn t really affect the plot
). You choice of gifts is this: either a climbing guide, which enables you to cl
imb ropes after having read it (which means you can get the Cloak of Undying Loy
alty), or a cooking kit, which means that after you loot monsters, you receive m
eat. The climbing guide is probably better, because you can t get the Cloak any ot
her way, but you can always buy food or rest somewhere. Anyway, for people who b
other to train up, chances are, by the time you reach a new area, you will be po
werful enough to not need to buy food or restorative items

????????????????????????????????????
The Druid of Wisdom [dr_wis]
????????????????????????????????????
- Getting the Druid s Soul -

The Druid of Wisdom, Daena, lives in the Moon Temple, which is on the northern i
sle, near the Ice Palace and Caverns. The bad news is that the daeva guarding hi
s soul is in a locked section of the Ice Caverns. The good news is that the Snow
Queen will leave you the key if you end the fight between her and her husband,
who has moved to Thornkeep. He refuses to believe that fairies exist, so if you
can bring him proof, it will stop the fighting. There are fairies in the Memory
Caverns near Aveyond; you need to capture one (in a bottle bought from a junk sh
op in Sedona), and take it to him and reconcile the couple. So now that you have
the key, enter the Ice Caverns and explore around the place. This area is prett
y straightforward, so what you can do is just get the stuff and head for the dae
va, Indra.
Have Te ijal attack Indra physically (assuming you have already gotten an Elven Ra
pier for her from Rootwell), and Rhen cast offensive spells. Lars or Dameon can
heal or cast status effect spells, or Elini can summon demons. Indra can prove t
o be pretty tough, as are the Silvens and Ice Slimes in the caves, so make sure
you make the effort to train up.

- Saving the Druid -

After taking Daena back to Aveyond, you can choose between two gifts: 6 Diamonds
or a Dizzy Doll. The Dizzy Doll works the same way the Sleep Flute does, except
that it inflicts the Dizzy status onto your enemies. Depending on which you are
more interested in you can make your choice, as neither are plot-related items.
????????????????????????????????????
The Druid of Strength [dr_str]
????????????????????????????????????

- Getting the Druid s Soul -

Eithera, the Druid of Strength, lives in the Stronghold Temple. To get there, yo
u need to go the Demon Caves, on the Southern Isle. They aren t called the demon c
aves for nothing, so watch out! Make sure you get some fire amulets for your par
ty, as these help a lot. From the southern dock of the Southern Isle, go north-e
ast to a large lake and follow the sign south. From Veldt, follow the river sout
h until you find the sign.
Once you are in the Caves, go through the opening to the north-west, and follow
the road. Get the Sword of Might on the first level before moving on to the seco
nd level, and get the fire axe (if you have Galahad) before the final level. Get
the Shield of Madness, then fight the daeva, Saurva!
If you have Te ijal and Pirate John, have them attack physically, and let Rhen and
whoever else you have use their worst spells. If you have Dameon, let him use a
shield spell, because otherwise the daeva can easily take the weaker party memb
ers out in one blow.

- Saving the Druid -

Bringing Eithera back to Aveyond will give you a choice between a Mithril Rapier
and a Red Demon Summon. The Mithril Rapier is a very strong weapon for Pirate J
ohn (but of course the elven rapier is the best one), while the Red Demon Summon
is a summon spell for Elini that allows her to attack the entire enemy party wi
th a low Mana usage. Depending on your preferences with party members you can ma
ke your own choice

????????????????????????????????????
The Druid of Time [dr_tm]
????????????????????????????????????
- Getting the Druid s Soul -
To save Vata, the Druid of Time, you need to go to both Thais and Mysten Far, wh
ich means you need a dragon. To ride a dragon, you first need a bridle (given as
a gift from the Empress for solving the Nightingale quest - see side quests gui
de), and then you need to recruit Pirate John. Once you have done this, you re fre
e to fly! Although the temple is across the rainbow bridge in the Memory Caverns
, the daeva, Aesma, is in the Dark Caverns near Thais.
Thais is far east, so go search the skies Once you re there, follow the signpost and
look for a small opening to the north-east. Climb up a ladder, down another, an
d head around and north to the Caverns. Inside it s fairly straightforward, just m
ake sure that you explore carefully because the way forward can look like a dead
end.
This is the last boss before Ahriman, so he s gonna be hard Once again, have Te ijal a
nd Pirate John attack him physically, Dameon shield/heal, and Rhen and Lars use
offensive magic. Elini can summon, but make sure you don t use up all of her mana
at once, because this fight could last a while. Strangely enough, Aesma often he
als himself instead of attacking so use that to your advantage.

- Saving the Druid -

Before you can rescue the Druid, you need to cross the Rainbow Bridge. To do so,
by now you should know that you ll need the Dreamer s Tear, which is you guessed it,
in the Dreamworld! The Dreamworld is accessible from Mysten Far, which is northe
ast of Thais island. In Mysten Far s temple, head down to the basement and touch th
e statue. This will bring you to the Dreamworld. This is a very straightforward
place, so just head right, head all the way down and fight Agas to get the Dream
er s Tear. Then, finally, with Vata s soul as well as the Dreamer s Tear, you can head
over the rainbow bridge in the Memory Caverns (in Aveyond, just in case you for
got) and then head further into the temple to find the frozen Druid of Time.
Vata, when brought back to Aveyond, offers Rhen a gift of either a Gauss Shield
Spell, or the Cloak of Invisibility. The Gauss Shield Spell, when cast by Lars d
uring battle, will summon an earth shield for the party. On the other hand, the
Cloak of Invisibility will make the party invisible to monsters. So, depending o
n your needs or preferences, you are free to make your choice. Forgoing either o
f the items will not affect the plot.

????????????????????????????????????
The Sword of Shadows [swrd]
????????????????????????????????????

- After Gathering All the Druids in Aveyond -

It is now time. After traveling through the world of Aveyond, Rhen and company h
ave finally gathered the eight druids together. In the Sun Shrine, all the druid
s will combine their power and unlock the Sword of Shadows, the only weapon that
can destroy the Dark Lord Ahriman.
The door in the Sun Shrine, previously inaccessible, will now be opened to Rhen.
Enter the door when you are prompted to do so, and take the Sword of Shadows, R
hen s ultimate weapon in the game. (Remember to equip it!!) Head back outside and
you will be told that Ahriman is possibly in the deeper parts of the Stronghold
Temple in Veldt. (Remember the locked door in the Stronghold Temple that you cou
ldn t get through?) Eithera will hand you the Crystal Key (the key to the locked d
oor, of course) and warn you about the dangers beyond that mysterious door.
Now, be on your way, head back to Stronghold Temple (in the Southern Isle, near
Veldt), and head north to the locked door. Unlock it using the Crystal Key, and
you ll enter the final dungeon, where Ahriman awaits.

????????????????????????????????????
The Final Showdown With Ahriman [shdwn]
????????????????????????????????????
- The Final Dungeon -
Past the locked door, you ll find a fairly simple underground passageway. The area
s on either side lead to treasure, while the middle path is the right way forwar
d. The Wyverns and Angels of Death are tough, but with Pirate John and Te ijal and
their Elven rapiers, you shouldn t face too much of a problem. The Angels of Deat
h will always be blocking your way but they re just so cool!! An effective battle
strategy against these two enemies is to have Lars inflict various status ailmen
ts on them so they will be unlikely to attack the party. If you are lucky, you g
et elixirs after fighting these enemies.
Head forward and you ll end up in a place which looks somewhat like a mansion. (o_
O ??) Anyway, just head on. Like in the previous screen, Angels of Death will be
blocking your way while Wyverns will be hanging around. (If you exit the screen
, the Angels of Death will still be blocking your way when you refresh the scree
n. Think of them as normal enemies that can be revived, but are immobile) There
are some fairies along the way that may or may not help you. Look at them closely does
one of their faces look a bit green to you? Make sure you save before going thr
ough the final door.
When you re through exploring the place, head onwards and prepare for the final ba
ttle in the game (Meaning: save, heal and equip yourself properly!!!)

- The Final Battle: Face to Face with Ahriman -

You finally come face to face with the Dark Lord himself. You are now where you
saw Ahriman in opening scenes of the game. He seems amused at the party s appearan
ce, and you ll see a CS. Now, remember Dameon talking with Ahriman in the beginnin
g of the game? There. Your premonition did come true, Dameon IS a traitor.
However, it seems his feelings for Rhen are true. In fact, he invites Rhen to fo
llow Ahriman with him. Here, you will be given a choice whether to follow Dameon
and Ahriman, or try to talk Dameon out of it and convince him to fight Ahriman
with you. (To get ending number one, choose to follow Dameon. For more details,
please refer to the Endings section)
So, assuming you decided that you would like to continue tanning in the sun rath
er than writhing away in darkness, talk Dameon out of it and he will come to his
senses. Remember the wise words of a fairy: fairy dust always shows the truth An
yways, this will also allow Dameon to master his ultimate spell, Sun Fury. And n
ow, you get to battle Ahriman to stop all his plans once and for all.
Alright. This battle really depends on your luck. If you re really unlucky, you ca
n be sure Ahriman will be casting nasty spells on your party every single turn.
If Lady Luck is shining on you, you can simply wipe him out within a few turns,
with no Mana or items spent on restoring your health.
Here s a battle strategy that is more or less bound to work: Have Rhen use her mos
t offensive magic, Pirate John and Te ijal whack Ahriman with elven rapiers equipp
ed, Lars make Ahriman confused, dizzy or sleepy followed by his most powerful ma
gic spells, Dameon use his offensive spells, Elini use her ultimate summons, and
do not use Mad Marge or Galahad unless you re looking for a challenge here. Make
sure you have either Lars or Daemon in your party so that there s a healer to keep
your party alive. It is also highly recommended to have both Te ijal and Pirate J
ohn since they re the most powerful attackers and can inflict the most damage.
After Ahriman has finally died, you realize that instead of a The End screen, you
can still walk about and control your characters. So, what s the first thing you s
hould do? Report to the Sun Shrine in Aveyond!! Once there, you can walk around
and talk to the druids and others. Then, you ll be prompted by the oracle to make
a decision on what you intend to do from now onwards. This will determine the ga
me s ending for you, so please refer to Endings number two, three and four under t
he Endings section for more details. Remember to choose wisely!! ^_^

????????????????????????????????????
Endings [endgs]
????????????????????????????????????
There are four different endings for the player to choose from in Aveyond, and,
well, honestly, all of them are rather (er hrm!!) skimpy except for one of them (
which is apparently the proposed or rather more like ideal ending for the game)
Okay, actually, there re five, but technically, dying doesn t really count. ^_^()
