NOTIFICATION

No. 733-PAR(Trg)/3T-95/,2006 dated 16.12.2010. ln exercise of the power conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution ion of India, the Governor is pleased hereby to make the following amendments in the Service (Training and Examination) Rules, West Bengal. Published with the Finance (Audit) l) Department notification No 845-F, dated the 19 th March, 1953 as subsequently amended (hereinafter referred to as the said rules) -

Amendments ln the said rules, in Chapter ll, under the heading "(A) General rules regarding Department l Examinations", in rule 1, after item (xlvi), add the following item and entry relating thereto, namely : "(xlvii) Officers of West Bengal Legal Service ,under the Law Department", 2. under the heading "(B) Departmental Exanimation Rules", after Part 37, add the following Part and the entries relating thereto namely:

PART 38 For Officers of the "West Bengal Legal Service" under Law Department. 1. All Law Officers of the "West Bengal Legal Service" shall have to pass the departmental examination as set out below within two years from the date of their appointment. Law Officers who are already in service shall pass the examination within a period of two years from the date of promulgation of these rules. 2. The examination shall consist of the subjects and papers as noted below:-

3. Apart from above Law Officers shall have to undergo the following in service training: Six months training in drafting, Constitutional Laws and administrative laws in the Law Department of the State Government, or ii. Six months training in legislative drafting under the Ministry of Law & Justice, Government of India, that has a training institute for the purpose, and iii. Six months training in understanding of departmental functioning, court functioning, L.Rs set up etc.
