CYBERJAYA ON-CAMPUS ACCOMMODATION


1. On-campus accommodations in Cyberjaya campus consist of four residential colleges and the colleges are:
- College Omega
- College Sigma
- College Lambda
- College Kappa

2. There are 250 rooms for each block and maximum number of students in each room are 3 students.

3. Facilities in the hostel rooms:


• One single bed
• One double-decker bed
• 3 closets
• 3 study tables
• Networking lines
(maximum of 3 person per room)

4. Facilities in each block:


• Common room with TV
• Guest lounge
• Pantry
• Recreational area
• Food court
• Laundry rooms

5. Hostel rental:
• Ground Floor : RM178.00 per person per month
• First Floor : RM202.00 per person per month
• Second Floor : RM196.00 per person per month
• Third Floor : RM190.00 per person per month
• Fourth Floor : RM184.00 per person per month
* A deposit of RM300 is required upon registration and a pre-payment of RM200 will be made each trimester.

6. Cyberjaya on- campus facilities:

7. Each block would have a common room equipped with television (and ASTRO), guest lounge, Muslim prayer room, pantry, recreational area and food court.

CYBERJAYA OFF-CAMPUS ACCOMMODATION


• Cyberia Smarthomes (Apartment and townhouse)
- Rental : RM 1450 - RM 1800/ apartment (7person/ unit) or RM 250 – RM 300/ month/ person.
- Distance : approximately 0.5 kilometer
- Facilities provided:
o Furniture
o 24-hr security
o Mini market
o Nearby restaurants and food stalls
o Public transportation to Kuala Lumpur and other places
o Gymnasium
o Laundry services
o Swimming pool

Initial payments:
3- months deposit + 1 month rental + Utility bills + Tenancy Agreement = RM1,500.00 (estimated )

GETTING THERE-Public Transportation


1. From KL to MMU:
•Take ERL from KL Sentral to Putrajaya station and take RapidKL bus to MMU – 15 minutes.

2. Express – Railway Link (ERL):


• Take RapidKL bus from Cyberjaya bus station to Putrajaya (Precinct 9 – ERL Station)
• From Putrajaya to KL Sentral (Kuala Lumpur City) – 30 minutes
• From Putrajaya to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) – 20 minutes

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Student Affairs Division (STAD) office in Melaka is situated on the 2nd floor in Plaza Siswa and in Cyberjaya, it is situated on the 2nd floor of Student Excellent
Centre.

The main objectives and role of STAD are as follows:

• To encourage the students to participate in co-curricular activities


• To mould students to be outstanding future leaders
• To organize and conduct student development programs
• To provide training on and expose the students to MMU’s procedures and policy in conducting events
• To coordinate, advise and monitor the students’ programs
• To give better services to the students in terms of accommodation, food, transportation and insurance
• To provide counseling facilities for the students
• To monitor the students’ discipline

In order to ensure the effectiveness of STAD, a few units have been set up in both campuses. The units are mainly to cater to the needs of the students because
everything that is done starts with the students and ends with them. Below are the units available in STAD:

OFFICE HOURS:

Monday – Thursday : 8.30 a.m. - 5.30 p.m. (Lunch break : 1.00 p.m. - 2.00 p.m.)
Friday : 8.30 a.m. - 5.45 p.m. (Lunch break : 12.45 p.m.-2.30 p.m.)

Saturday and Sunday is a public holiday.

MELAKA ON-CAMPUS ACCOMMODATION
1. In Melaka, we have 4 blocks of hostels i.e. 2 blocks for male students and 2 blocks for female students.
2. Each room would be on twin sharing basis.
3. Only selected students are eligible to stay in the hostels.
4. Room rates:
• Type A = RM 210.00/ month/ student
• Type B = RM 230.00/ month/ student
• Type C = RM 250.00/ month/ student
• Type D = RM 270.00/ month/ student

A two-month deposit (RM420) and a month pre-payment (RM210) are required before registration.

5. Each room would be provided with:


• Networking
• Bed (double-decker)
• Study tables
• Closet
• 24-hr security
• Fan
• Book rack
• Shoe rack

6. There would be one common room for male and female block, which would be equipped with carpet, television with ASTRO, air-conditioning, sofas and daily newspaper.

7. For every four floors of each block, there would be a common washing room and bathroom.

8. On-campus accommodations are reserved only for Alpha and Diploma students. But returning students also could apply provided if he/ she has any medical problem.

OFF-CAMPUS ACCOMMODATION (PRIVATELY OWNED)

Rental
• Between RM170 and RM300 per person/month depending on facilities inclusive of utility bills.
• Initial payment: Security deposit (RM300) + 3 months rental prepayment (from RM810 – RM1200)
• One apartment unit consists of 4rooms, which can accommodate 8-9 people.

• Between RM180 and RM400 per person/month depending on facilities and inclusive of utility bills (water & electricity with limited use)
• Initial payment: 3 months prepayment + security deposit + utility deposit (from RM615 – RM1,320)
• One unit apartment consists of 4 rooms, which can accommodate 4 – 8 people.

Student Affairs Division (STAD) encourages students to participate in co-curricular activities that will help to develop their leadership, decision making,
communications, goal setting, organizational and time management skills and other essential skills needed to face the challenges in the corporate world.

COUNSELING

A therapeutic environment is essential in enhancing the development of students potentials so as to enable them to excel as individuals with a strong sense of
responsibility towards oneself and society. At the Counseling Unit we have a professionally trained staff that can assist you with your problem. We cannot make
the decision for you. We can only guide you in your exploration of yourself. So, if you are experiencing any dilemma, come and see us.

The Counseling Unit does far more than simply helping a person to find a job. That is because it takes into account your entire complex developmental
characteristics. In counseling there is the psychological part of you (behavior); the social part of you (interaction) and the spiritual part of you (beliefs) that have
to be taken into consideration. Balancing all these parts and giving them the right focus can greatly enhance your ability to bring peace, harmony, justice and
truth into this world.

We offer several types of services to meet your unique needs, wants and values:

1. Personal Counseling

Personal Counseling is available on a limited basis. Counselor provides students with counseling to help them in self exploration as it relates to their college
experience and their educational goals.
• individually or in a group
• concerns with the things that are bothering the client

2. Educational Counseling

• deals with improving a student’s efficiency and adequacy in scholastic achievement


• concerns with matters of choice and planning

3. Career Counseling

Career counseling enables students to understand their values, interests and skills and to research a variety of career options. The career planning process also
assists in learning to manage job/life transitions

• concerns issues dealing mainly with vocational choices


• focuses on the development of career decision making skills
• provides direct assistance in job placements
• organizes on campus interviews

4. Workshop

The Counseling Unit also provides short courses and workshops on specific information and skills in the area of counseling and career such as:

• assertiveness training
• motivation
• facing interviews and resume writing
• study skills
• counseling techniques
• communication skills
• adjusting in a new environment for International Students
• self improvement for potential students
