Kelucharan Mohapatra was born in Raghurajpur, a village near the temple town

age. He started playing in folk theatre groups from the age of nine. He married
dancer Laxmi Priya with whom he often co-acted.

engineer. After receiving a Ph.D from MIT, he started doing research on speaker
technology, in 1956.

In 1964, he founded the Bose Corporation, which specializes in designing and


producing high quality sound systems.

In addition to running his company, Bose is a professor of electrical engineering


at MIT.
