Features Accessible Using Location API
ƒ Real-time and historical tracking of network devices
ƒ Historical database can be up to 2 years of data depending on mobility
ƒ Tracked devices include all 802.11 devices such as clients, RFID Tags,
Rogue APs and Rogue clients
ƒ API provides rich set of data on tracked devices including location, client
identification information, ap information, tag information, telemetry and
status
ƒ API allows applications to query real-time location and register for
asynchronous location events for all tracked devices
ƒ Queries can be simple “provide location of device X” or complex
expressions such as “provide all devices matching X and Y attributes on
Floor Z or Floor ZZ at specific time W”
ƒ Event triggers include updates; movement/entry/exit based on distance,
floor, building; absence notification; telemetry notifications
ƒ Event notifications can be sent using SMTP, Syslog, SOAP or SNMP
