hotel rooms have private facilities. Twin beds are two beds in one
frame. Single rooms are always very limited and the additional
prices are for the convenience of having a room to oneself.

The Gasthof Baren (Familie Lumper) is a traditional Inn in the heart of the village.
The buffet breakfast and the Austrian three course evening meal is of a good
standard with choice.
Lechtal is famous for its scenery and royal connections. For the more energetic
the challenges of the Widderstein and Karrhorn will not disappoint. Included in
the price is a Lift Pass (5 Lifts) and Bus Pass (Value £45). This is arranged so that
all the party can take advantage of all the spectacular scenery that is the Lechtal,
near the beautiful villages of Lech, Warth & Shrocken. Very good walking centres
in the Voralberg. We may also visit Tannheimtal (see front cover of this

Saas Fee (Saas Almergal), Switzerland

We shall stay with the famous Swiss family of Christine and Rolf Zurbriggen
(Heidi & Pirmin Zurbriggen Fame) at the Hotel Mattmarkblick (1700m), Half
Pension. We have stayed at this hotel before in the heart of the Valais. The
welcome and hospitality shown by Rolf is wonderful.
The area is dominated by Dom (4545m) Allalinhorn (4027m) Rimfischorn
(4199m) Monte Rosa (4634m) These are amongst the most famous summits in
Switzerland.
Included in the holiday cost is the Saas Fee and Saastal Pass (Value £150).
This will enable groups to use these lifts in the area at will - Fellskinn(10000ft)
Langfluh (9500ft) Plattjen (8500ft) and Hohsa (10400ft).
There are other lifts too but please be aware of these heights bearing blood
pressure etc in mind. One of the highlights would be a visit to Zermatt
(Matterhorn) which is altogether a fantastic experience leading to many life
time ambitions being fulfilled.

French Pyrenees

We will now be based at AGOS VIDALOUS near ARGELES
GAZOST a small town in the main valley, this is a very good
position for visiting the Alpine centres of Cauterets, St Luz St
Sauveur and Gavarnie. Approx 3 miles south of Lourdes, river
side walk. This area is superb for walkers and you will wonder
why it is relatively unknown in the UK. The mountains and
scenery are the equal of any Alpine areas. The Gavarnie circuit
is awe inspiring, one of many wonderful places.
We will stay at Chez Pierre D Agos, an attractive hotel, half person, Buffet Breakfast
and all private facilities with an open air swimming pool and quiet position.

Green Spain Touring Holiday
Sunday 2nd October to Tuesday 11th October (10 days)
We will be staying at the Hotel Eurostar Ciudad de La
Corunna(4 star) in Corunna overlooking the beach in the
famous historical city of Corunna. This is a town of much
Celtic, Roman and Medieval influence. The town is famous
for having the oldest working lighthouse in the world. It has
an antique tramway, and many fine museums and plazas and
other historic buildings. It also has the longest promenade in
Europe.

There are so many places to visit. Other medieval towns are


Pontedeume and Pontevedra. Look out for the famous
Roman Bridge. The walled Roman town of Lugo is well worth
a visit, Ourense has many lovely buildings and churches,
Ferrol (Spanish Armada) and others. There will also be a
chance to visit the Pilgrimage City of Santiago de Compostela.
A holiday full of interest and don’t forget to have your
binoculars handy for whale watching on the ferry!
