According to Kamus Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) said that pollution is an act that pollute
(discolour) - environmental pollution - the act of polluting the environment clean of litter.

?here are many ways contamination can occur. But they are divided into two types:

* Pollution caused by Natural

Pollution caused by natural factors is pollution that occurs automatically upon the occurrence of natural
disasters such as volcanic eruptions, hurricanes hit, earthquakes and so on.

* Pollution caused by human factors.

Pollution caused by human factors is pollution by humans, whether intentional or unintentional. Among
them are:

a. Air Pollution

For example, toxic gases, particles trapped in the results of emission, the effects of haze from open
burning and so forth.

b. Air Pollution

For example, sewage disposal, chemical waste, heat, garbage disposal and so forth.

c. Land Pollution
For example, the destruction of forests due to logging, dumping of chemical wastes and solid wastes.

As a result of environmental pollution, human health is also affected. In our country today such as the
use of cars has increased rapidly in the 1950s and 1960s than previously. Unfortunately, the technology
of manufacturing of motor vehicles has caused many problems such as air pollution, noise pollution,
environmental damage and natural wildlife.

Production of monoxide gas is a toxic gas that can kill if retained in a closed area. Another kind of
element that can be produced through the use of a motor vehicle is a type of lead is very toxic chemical
and can cause brain damage, especially among children.

Apart from that, as occurred in Minamata Bay, Japan, toxic pollution into the water causing symptoms
of numbness and tingling, numbness, headaches, blurred vision and expression that is not correct. Some
end up with paralysis and died there. Symptoms caused by mercury poisoning have involved hundreds
of fishing families. It is known as Minamata disease.

?he effects of the pollution occur not only experienced by humans, but also affect other wildlife. ?he
impacts of pollution that killed many marine organisms in the shallow waters of the effects of oil spills
into the sea. ×hen oil spills occur with many near the coast it forms a layer of oil is threatening marine
life and birds. Plants were also affected with plankton growth and fertility.

?he impacts are considered chronic anomaly, the enlargement of the body and which is not normal
behavior, and less immune to the use of water resources.

As another example poisoning effects of mercury, a strange incident occurred in Minamata Bay, Japan,
where the birds are flying suddenly plummeted from the sky. ×aggle, cat-walk with the foaming mouth,
then ran and died uncertain.

Showa Maru ship 7700 tons of oil spilled in the Riau archipelago in 1975, affecting hundreds of hectares
of tropical plants in the waters of Indonesia. Even after four years of that event occurs, the impact of the
oil residue is still visible and was destroying marine ecosystems in Southeast Asia known as aquaculture.

* Property Damage

Pollution caused by natural factors like volcanic eruptions, hurricanes, earthquakes, etc., substantially
affected by the destruction of property. As an example of volcanic eruption events that occurred in
Indonesia, Mount Merapi has resulted in property damage. ?his is caused by hot lava produced by the
mountain. Among the property damage that occurred was the destruction of human habitation and
infrastructure in the affected areas.

"×aste is material that has no value or no value to the ordinary or main purpose in the
manufacture or use of the goods are damaged or defective in manufacture or materials making
exaggerated or rejected or discarded." (Dictionary of Environmental ?erms, 1994). "×aste is a
waste or discarded material that result from human activities and sources of natural processes
that do not have economic value." (?he term environment for the management, Ecolink, 1996).
"×aste is something that is useless, discarded by the owners or users. (?andjung, Dr. M.Sc.,
1982) "×aste is a resource that is not ready." (Radyastuti, ×. Prof. Ir, 1996).

Based on the original, solid waste can be classified as:

1.
 "

Organic solid waste consisting of materials, plant and animal materials were taken from
nature or generated from agricultural activities, fisheries or other. ?rash is easily described in
natural processes. Most household waste is organic material. Including organic waste, eg waste
from the kitchen, the remaining flour, vegetables, fruit skin, and leaves.

2.
 #

Inorganic solid waste derived from natural resources like minerals and not Updated crude oil, or
from industrial processes. Some of this material not found in nature, such as plastic and
aluminum. Some inorganic substances as a whole cannot be explained by natural, but some
others can only be described in a very long time. ?his kind of garbage at the household level,
such as bottles, plastic bottles, plastic bags, and cans.

á It is a broad topic and many aspects can be discussed. But if we are careful with thought and
deeply, we find that one thing that should be taken into account is the word 'needs with the
research.
á Based on the issues to be discussed 'needs joint research' means that the issue of pollution is a
global issue should be discussed, thought out and dealt with at the international level. ?his is
due to the pollution problem is happening all over the world has, is and will be experienced by
all countries. Be prudent measures should be planned to address this problem.
á uow do we want to solve the above problem? uow we answer or solve them is dependent on
our own perception of the environment. It also reveals the way we live, is there a way of life we
can help protect the environment or vice versa?

á Education Unit or Malaysian Nature Society, Nature Society (MNS) often receives inquiries about
whether or how to conserve the natural environment should be made by all parties. Just as the
question whether an individual effort to conserve the environment while the problems have
become increasingly complex.

á If we are examining the causes of environmental problems, we found that most people due to
the demand of industrial products. ?his led to the problem of earth pressure on the ability to
provide space and resources for this request.

Improper disposal of rubbish is an issue that has long existed. ?he way people thought might be
