A Brief Introduction to
Sallaghari Alumni
Association Nepal (SAAN)
(An association of former students of Birendra Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya (BSAM), formerly known as Suping
Multiple Campus)
The establishment of Sallaghari Alumni Association Nepal (SAAN) is an original and creative
task. It was established in 2062 BS with the objective of jointly mobilizing in the country’s social
and educational and sectors the skills and knowledge of the current and former students of
Birendra Sainik Awasiya Mahavidylaya, who are presently involved in various vocations at home
and abroad. SAAN envisions the utilization of their skills and competence, and foster a healthy
and apolitical network for the promotion of the BSAM as well as contribute to the development
of the country. Its motto is “ Joining hands together”. Its office is located at Sallaghari‐
17,Bhaktappur within the compound of Birendra Sainik Awasiya Mahavidylaya. This association
is moving forward under the patronage of the Chief of Army Staff.
Objectives
1. To develop a network among former students, and foster goodwill, brotherhood and
relationship among them.
2. To remain active for capacity enhancement, confidence building and garnering mutual
support and cooperation.
3. Contribute from various sectors for the development of patron organization—BSAM.
4. To launch relevant research and investigative activities on Nepal’s social structure,
development, natural resources, educational situation, latest technology and other
contemporary subjects.
5. To begin awareness campaign against the existing absurdities, anomalies, discrimination
on several aspects of public life.
6. To develop a feeling of volunteerism among alumni and mobilize them for the service of
the helpless and rescue of the victims of natural calamities.
7. To launch any other good work to achieve the objectives of the Association.
SAAN Activities
The following programmes and Activities come under the sphere of SAAN:
Sanitation of School, Temple, Road and Hospital Premises;
Workshop on Drugs Abuse and HIV/AIDS;
Community Based Quiz;
Food Distribution to the Disable, Orphans and Elderly people;
First Aid Training
Public Awareness Programmes
Volunteer Service during Different Natural Calamities and Disasters
Campaign against Social Evils and Inequality, etc.

5. Second General Assembly (2008/06/21)
6. Food Distribution to the Disable, Orphans and Elderly people of Siddhi Memorial Child
Hospital, Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital, and Saligram Briddha Ashram (2008/06/21)
7. Open Blood Donation (2008/06/21)
8. Sanitation of Swayambhunath Temple, Budhanilkantha and Pashupatinath Temple
Premises, Kathmandu (2008/08/23)
9. First Aid Training given to BSAMV Scout Troop
10. Health Camp, Baphal, Kalanki (2008/08/27)
Categories of Members
There are four types of Members which are as follows:
1. General Member
2. Founder Member
3. Life Member
4. Honoured Member
The required qualification for attaining its membership
One should possess the following minimum qualities to attain its membership:
1. One must be a Nepali Citizen
2. One must be no lesser than 16 years of age
3. One must not be mentally retarded
4. One must not have his/her name involved in any kind of black deeds
5. One must be a former student of Birendra Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya ( then Suping
Multiple Campus) who have passed at least S L C or Intermediate (+2) Level from this
institution
Procedure of Acquiring its Membership
1. General Member:
a. Those who are willing to receive the general membership should pay NRs.100/‐ for
getting admission and annual fees NRs.100/‐
b. Once who have become its general members should renew their membership
annually paying NRs.100/‐
c. The general members should renew their membership no later than the last of July.
2. Founder Member:
a. The ad hoc committee members of the time when SAAN was registered will be its
founder members.
b. These members can, on their will, be either general member of life member paying
the required fees.
3. Life Member:
If the people meeting above mentioned criteria apply for life member paying a
wholesome amount of NRs.3001/‐, they deserve to be our life members.
4. Honoured Member:
Any prominent figure of the community chosen from the General Assembly can be an
Honoured Member. Yet, he/she does not deserve the right to vote.
Note: Every member will be abide by the rules and regulations of SAAN.
