ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
Research methodology is a structured
framework of conducting management
research in order to address various issues and
to solve problems in a scientific and rational
manner. Quantitative as well as qualitative
data analysis using contemporary statistical
techniques for conducting management
research for better decision-making is an
absolute necessity.
SPSS is a computer program for statistical
analysis used by Ph.D. Scholars for their
Thesis, Market researchers, Survey com
panies, Government, Education researchers,
Marketing organizations and others.
The programme is planned with 100%
practical sessions to enable the participants to
become an expert in operating the software
and use in their research work on their own.
PREREQUISITES
No Laptops needed to be brought for the
programme. The whole 3 days the sessions
will be conduced in a state of the art
laboratory with 40 networked systems.
Systems will be available at the participant's
disposal for practice for the duration of the
whole programme. No statistics knowledge is
needed to attend the programme.Prior
knowledge of statistics or expertise in
using computer is not mandatory.
TAKE AWAYS
The participants will get the practical
knowledge of using SPSS package starting
from Entering Data, Descriptive statistics,
factor Analysis and validation and
interpretation of results. The programme also
helps the participants in identifying the
appropriate tools and the interpretation
methods.

Session – 1: Basic statistical concepts in
Research methods.
Session – 2: Descriptive statistics.
Session – 3: Correlation and Regression
Analysis.
Day – 2
Session – 4: Hypothesis testing, One
Tailed, two tailed tests.
Session – 5: Comparing Means – One or
Two sample tests.
Session – 6: Comparing Means
Analysis of Variance.
Day – 3
Session – 7: Chi-Square tests of
Independence.
Session – 8: Basic usage of Factor
Analysis & Cluster Analysis.
PEDAGOGY
Every session is designed to be highly
interactive with practical exercises, intended
to provide participants with an opportunity to
improve their skills. The sessions will help in
interpreting the results from the analysis of
the data collected using various instruments
like questionnaire etc.
