PREFACE

The estimate of State Income of Maharashtra is being prepared by the Directorate

since last five decades. The series of State Income have been revised from time to time.
The present series with the base 1993-94 was prepared in the year 1999 and was first
published in the “ Economic Survey of Maharashtra 1999-2000 ”. The changes made in
the revised series was published in the Publication titled “ New series on State Domestic
Product Maharashtra ” in November 2000. The estimates for the years 1993-94 to 1998-99
are available in this report. The series is updated every year and the latest estimates are
published in the Economic Survey of Maharashtra. Thus in the Economic Survey of
Maharashtra 2002-2003 the estimates for the years 1993-94 to 2001-2002 are published.

The Economic Survey, however, contains only summary tables of the sectoral
estimates, the detailed tables are not available in the published form. The aim of
bringing out this monogram is to make available the detailed tables to the users and
research workers.

II) Graphs,

III) Sectoral tables i.e. Disaggregated tables and

IV) Methodology.
