Was involved in various enhancement projects as part of the Oracle Projects Billing Development Center from June
2001 till March 2005.

1. Project Name: New York Stock Exchange Global Oracle Roll-out

Client: NYSE, NYC, NY ; Team size: 30
Role: Global Technical Lead
Duration: From March 2009 till date
Module Involved: Oracle Projects , Oracle Financials (11.5.10.2)
NYSE has recently acquired the Euronext Inc in Europe and is planning to bring all the systems in the
same ERP technology – Oracle Applications. Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Core Accounting and
Project Accounting are the modules that are implemented with the focus on Project Accounting. The
implementation happens in four phases – Phase I in US, Phase II in Netherlands, Phase III in France
and UK, ending with Phase V in Belgium and Portland. I am involved in the last three phases – II, III
and IV as the global Technical Lead for the Project Accounting Track, responsible for all the Projects
related RICE components including conversion starting from Requirements Validation, Data
Conversion Strategy, Designing, Development, Unit Testing, Support QA, Code Migration, Actual
Data Conversion, Support UAT and ultimately support the GO-Live.
Achievements:
 Project Accounting Track was in a visible Red alert status when I joined the team of three
experienced Projects Accounting Functional consultants in March. In a matter of three months, the
delivery status was completely Green and all the components were ready to be delivered to the QA
team well ahead of the plan
 The significant wait time and delays in development due to integration with another team, was
overcome by my innovative workarounds to test the individual systems separately. This was then
followed by other tracks for successful development and testing
 Was able to successfully cover up the deficiency of able offshore team lead for my track with
effective offshore connect calls and quickly mentoring a rookie at offshore who then started helping
other rookies at offshore.
 Able to bridge the gaps in working in a global environment, with my basic French skills and good
communication skills.
 Since my deliverables are always on time, I am always the one who reaches out and helps the other
tracks, O2C, P2P and Core Accounting, whenever required.

 Complemented the business team with my functional expertise in Oracle Projects. The Client was
able to replace/substitute an $200 per hour Oracle consultant in the last five months of the project.
 With the economic recession pitching in and the budget constraints, my company was still able to
extend this contract for an extra 3 months since the client wanted to retain me on this project.
 Was always ready to walk the extra mile for the client due to which, my company won the support
contract and also was able to influence the customer to consider replacing another strategic vendor
with resources from my company.
 Received Cisco CAP award for my hardwork and contributions.

3. Project Name: Cisco Synergy Oracle Projects New Implementation Project for Japan

as an Onsite Technical Lead for the Revenue objects. I had designed the various inbound and
outbound components and was involved end-to-end in this new implementation project starting from
Functional Design Reviews, Technical Design development, Code reviews ensuring CISCO and AOL
standards.
Achievements:
 Worked with various teams, including a boundary development team from a different vendor.
 Soon after I joined the project, the removal of hardcoding and other poor programming practices lead
to a clean and standardized environment which reduced the debugging time spent by the developers
into half.
 Played a key role in successfully resuming the Conversion track to its original project schedule by
helping and providing valuable insights in the APIs.
 Worked with the Oracle Support for various Severity 1 Service Requests. At times, I had to provide a
24/7 support since there was no expertise in other teams.
 Always available for Test Transition supports, Training support, Go-Live support and Post-

Job Summary @ Oracle:

Worked as Project Lead in Oracle Corporation, India in the Product Quality and Enhancement (PQE) team for the
Oracle Projects Module (Costing/Billing/Foundation) and Grants Management System (GMS).

Worked on hundreds of customer production issues and Customer enhancements. Effectively communicated with the
customers through Oracle Support. Attended conference calls with the customers directly to understand their business
needs during the enhancement work.

Partial List of customers, whose critical issues that I have worked on:

EMC, ALCOA (Aluminum Corporation of America), US Dept. of Corporation, US Dept of Defense, General
Dynamics, Master Card, Stanford University, University of Virginia, Oxford University, Research Foundation – State
University Of NY, State of NY, George Washington University, Caltech, US Department of Transportation, GE.

• Interaction with the customers through Oracle Web conferencing for the Critical production issues/
upgrades issues.

• Solved the performance issues and core dump errors in the various costing and billing processes such
as ‘Distribute Labor Costs’, ‘Distribute Usage and Miscellaneous Costs’, ‘Generate Draft revenue’, Generate
Draft Invoice Processes. Also resolved various issues in the AMG APIs in various Project accounting modules.

• Fixed the critical issues in various forms such as Projects, Invoice Review, Revenue Review,
Expenditure Inquiry, Bill Rate Schedules and other Setup forms.

• Resolved lot of period end processing issues which include period closure issues.

• Resolved critical setup issues in the GMS customer instances.

• Created datafix scripts to resolve lot of Data corruption issues in the Revenue, Cost Distribution Lines,
Events, Invoice and other critical billing related functionality.

Enhancements:

• Customer at Top Task: This is a Projects Billing enhancement which includes providing the ease of
attaching a customer at the top Task level. With this enhancement billing and funding can be at top task level.

• Funding Revaluation: Companies operating in multi-currency environments require project-funding

amounts to be periodically revalued to reflect fluctuations in currency exchange rates. Project funding
revaluation is the process of including fluctuations in currency exchange rates to determine the current value of
funding amounts prior to accruing revenue or generating invoices.
• Customer Account Relationships: When defining project customers, the related customers defined in
Oracle Receivables can be selected as Bill To and Ship To customers. This relationship allows an account to
bill for the transactions of another account. Thus the order processed for the project customer can be billed to
the bill-to customer and items shipped to the ship-to customers.

• Retention Billing: Retention is a provision in a contract to hold back a portion of invoiced amounts for
the duration of the project. The Retention Billing functionality of Oracle Projects supports:

• Flexible setup of withholding and billing terms for retention

• Automatically invoicing for withheld retention amounts

• Accounting for unbilled retention amounts

• Review of withheld and billed retention amounts.

• Multi Currency Billing: This is a Oracle Projects Billing Enhancement Project. Till Projects family
packs 11i.PA.H, the projects can be billed and funded only in the Functional Currency. After this enhancement,
billing and funding can be done in different currencies other than Functional Currency. Even every customer
attached to a project can have different billing and funding currencies. This was a long project and I was
involved in the coding and peer review.

Knowledge Transfer / Training Sessions:

• Oracle Application Object Library training is an important training which is provided as part of
Induction into Oracle for both College Graduates as well as laterals. I was one among the trainers for this 5 day
training which happens every month.

• Oracle Projects Billing training is provided to every new joinee in the Oracle Projects team. I was
involved in this training as an Billing expert as well as functional owner for the Invoice and Grants
Functionality.

standards, Defect Prevention meeting to discuss about the current defects in the Processes. Involved Inter team

• Created Revenue and Invoice related documentation that provides full information about how the
“PRC: Generate Draft Revenue” and “PRC: Generate Draft Invoices” processes work.
• Involved in the correction of Projects APIs user guide and other user guides after the 11i.PJ_PF.J
